not sure but i think joe hahn directed it
@@karlbland5687 no it was directed by Drew Stauffer and Jerry O'Flaherty. But I also thought it was Joe Hahn because he directed most part of linkin park music videos
thanks for clearing that up
react to waiting for the end
@@shinee8298 he already reacted
A crack in a castle of glass is just a tiny piece, yet when there's a crack, the whole castle cracks down with it. The repercussions of a small crack can be immense
That's so signicance
U can think u are just a small part of all the death going on the world.
Or u can talk about ur life where one small accident or mistake can change ur whole life up side down.
That's linkin park,giving moral values,life lessons.
The best band for mem
My dad was in the military and I thought that person was going to come to my house but my dad made it back home
Pablo Ramirez great to here👍👍
nice to hear buddy. God bless
Tell your dad thank you for your services. don't be me and what 10 years and.... It was my great great grandfather he lived to be 100year's and 7 months
God bless him and thanks for his service
Thats what scares me the most about having children. I want kids, but I want to come home to them. I don't want them to go through what many families do. It scares me
It's my favourite song, because it was the first from Linkin Park is listened to.
I too
Same man...
welcome to the Linkin Park family bro
I only like their stuff from hybrid Theory thru minutes to midnight
A great introduction!
Thank you for posting this, and personally honoring our troops. Very few take the time to do so. My husband actually served in the U.S. Marines for many years. Now, he's been a police officer in our town for 18yrs. Let me just say, and I speak for all first responder families. You spend every single day with a certain fear inside. You really do. Our town near Boston is relatively calm. But my mind went out of control that day of the Boston Marathon Bombings, where he was working. You just never know. So, love your loved ones as much as you can, and even more. ❤
Descriptions on their videos always include the director. This video is by Drew Stauffer and Jerry O'Flaherty.
This song was included in a videogame Medal of Honor: Warfighter, together with Lies Greed Misery, and it was used heavily during promotion of the game. Catalyst from their previous album was used in one of the previous games from the series aswell.
This is the third and final single (after Burn It Down and Lost In The Echo) from this album. The proceeds from this single went to Help for Heroes campaign.
This song has different meanings, depending on what you want it to mean. Mike said he sees it as being for example about soldier coming back home or someone getting out of prison, and just struggling to return to the society (society is basically a castle of glass, and they are a part of it, but a broken one, so they're like a crack in that castle of glass). Chester on the other hand said he sees it as being broken part of something, and feeling really unimportant and wrong because of it, but then realizing you're a part of something big and great that holds you together. I see both of those meanings in it and personally want to add that to me the song is also about feeling fragile and crying for help.
This is also the only song on the album, on which Mike arranged the strings himself, instead of having a guest outside the band do it.
Speaking of Mike, he also did a remix of this song for their second remix album Recharged.
The video includes band shots entirely done using greenscreen and CGI effects. It is inspired by the videogame Medal of Honor: Warfighter and even uses multiple shots from the game. The boy who lost his father indeed became a soldier himself, having to anounce the bad news himself in the end. The video feautures longer version of the song than the album. Intro is extended, intrumental is slightly different through first half of verse one and ambient outro is added. On the other hand radio edit has shortened intro in comparison with the album version.
This song was played live since Living Things touring cycle (the studio version) until One More Light tours. After Living Things touring cycle ended, they started playing a new version of the song, called the Experience version. This was a mash up of the studio version and Mike's remix. This version went through multiple changes and variations, changing instrumental parts, adding samples from two A Thousand Suns songs or transitions into another song. During One More Light tour, Mike started rapping over the new ending of this version. He rotated songs that he rapped over it (always only verse one), the songs being A Place For My Head, It's Going Down (collaboration song of Mike and Joe from LP and X-Ecutioners), A Light That Never Comes (song from LP's second remix album Recharged, the only one not being a remix fo Living Things track, but an actual new song, done with Steve Aoki) and Petrified (song of Mike's solo project Fort Minor). Mike also remixed his own remix and mashed it up with Fort Minor's song Kenji for Fort Minor's 2015 comeback tour. Slightly changed version of Castle Of Glass is also a part of Mike's solo setlists.
OMG you are true
"lets hope this song has lyrics" *meanwhile reading the lyrics on his second monitor*
My brother served in the military, and I was learning the alphabet when I found out wasn't gonna be home for Christmas.
Here's a hug brother, where did your brother serve, I did 2 tours of duty
Chester, mike, dave and Brad all sing in the final courus.
BUDDY there's one live show where they all sing and their harmonies are just truly amazing. Not sure which live show though
MozzaJ P it’s the Video Game Awards 2012 performance, 2:51 onwards 😊 (I left a comment on there ages ago that has over 1k likes with a timestamp to that part I think it might be one of the top comments)
OTDinosaur Scrubs oh yeah I remember now. Got to watch again now. Thanks haha
MozzaJ P no worries!
I didn't know that
You didn't notice how it starts with Mike singing, then Chester's voice creeps in and slowly takes over as Mike's fades out a little but still there 😜 it wasn't just Mike, then Chester. It was Mike, then Mike and Chester kinda evenly, then on the chorus Chester mostly with Mike's voice a little quieter
This song is mostly Chester providing backup vocals to Mike. It's weird because the video shows Chester come in for the chorus, but at that point it's both of their voices, with Mike's still a bit stronger.
Most of the song is both for their vocals together up until the last chorus, where it's just Chester by himself until the song picks up again and it's both of them again.
Anyways, great video and great song. Love how they used both of their vocals throughout the track it just shows how far they have come as a band.
I waiting for this reaction
Favorite song of linkin park
Chester joins in with Mike, before you said Mike is singing, you can hear Chesters voice
They both sing the second part of the first verse and the chorus, it's meant to be a duet
Hey Flowz, where have you been with our LP reactions?? :) Glad you're back :) great song choice
Doesn't matter how many times I see the video, I tear up every time. My favorite Linkin Park music video, and possibly my favorite song too.
Most deep music
Fun Fact: Most people don't know that the ALL the men, the ones standing behind the mom in the beginning scene where she is approaching her son when he was just informed of his father's death, are REAL Special Ops Metal of Honor and Purple Heart Recipients.
As always listen, appreciate, and enjoy!! God Bless!!!
This is the best reaction I've ever seen for a music video...❤
I think he talks a little bit too much during the video though. but not bad
Its songs like this that actually make me wanna enlist. I'm not scared to join so I did, I'm pre enlisted. I'm waiting to go and this makes me more excited.
the video was directed by Joe Hahn, their DJ, who's directed a lot of their videos actually :P
The "I'm only a crack in this castle of glass" metaphor fact, repressing life like you said but not in a depressing way.. the Crack refers to the person that you lost, and the castle of glass stands for your life, That the person "who died" says that he is only a small little piece that won't be the reason to your life to fall apart.. ♥
Really? Have you seen what a small crack in glass does to its structural integrity? A crack in the wrong spot can make it as fragile as a bubble. As can losing the wrong person.
@@LongandWeirdName it's criticism bro, could be holding a lot of meaning behind the metaphor depending on different points of view, and I found it more suitable with the video.
The first Linkin Park song I heard...and fell in love with this masterpiece
This song was written for the game "Medal of Honor: Warfighter", after Linkin Park's 'The Catalyst' from the A Thousand Suns album was used for the previous game, "Medal of Honor". This game represents the US military Tier 1 Special Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, particularly the United States Navy SEAL Team Six (DEVGRU), hence why in this video clip you see a Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator (a senior enlisted Navy SEAL) delivering the official condolences in uniform to the boy and his mother.
The big fellas with the beards and sunnies in the background are portrayed to be on-duty SEALs from the same platoon/team. The video shows how the boy copes with the loss of his father, and how he becomes curious about his dad's work, and finds the note, the Silver Star and his dad's beloved 'Frogman' baseball cap. As he puts the hat on, it cuts to him being much older, and serving as a US Navy SEAL himself. Then of course, we see the perpetuation of the cycle, where he goes to a little girl's house and delivers the official condolences in uniform as a Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator.
Absolute respect for telling the story that happens more often than it should, and more often than people really know.
#SupportAndDefend.
gotta appreciate mike shinoda in this song, his voice is pretty good as well
I love this song... I tear up every time I hear it because I have had friends and family who have sacrificed their lives for this price of dirt we call America... And I call this piece of dirt home...
The meaning of the video to me is the little boys dad served and died... The boy grew up, had a child of his own, joined the armed forces, and then lost his life... And the letter was delivered to *HIS* family just as was to him as a boy...
And for the lyrics, "I'm only a crack in this castle of glass... Hardly anything left for you to see"... Etc... It's like, we are a part of a fragile life, a broken part, hence the "crack"... And when glass breaks, it usually shatters... Thus "hardly anything left for you to see" or "hardly anything else left to see"...
My whole family served from my uncle's, to my grandfather, to my brother... So yes, songs like this mean a lot to me, just as the flag does...
everything a reaction should be, you give your thoughts, you speculate, you break it down. setting that example for all those other channels who just leech of the video theyre reacting to. nice one
They made this song for Medal of honor warfighter and the kid grows up to become the character named Preacher
Also check out the live performance they did of this! there was one shot where they were all lined up and they just looked like a badass group of superheroes lol
So Far Away - Linkin Park
Yes
Already did it
@@stevemorningstar4587 Link?
@@stevemorningstar4587 No, he didn't
@@Vall619 I think he did it in some livestream.
And the saddest part in a interview with Chester's wife she said her son said the days following his death that if they would have never left for there outting Chester would still be alive now and that right there tears from the inside............R.I.P. Chester Bennington you will live on in our music our lives and our hearts never forgotten.
For me it's like this: in the beginning the kid is informed his dad was kia. he was destroyed and angry and frustrated. he talks to his fathers brothers in arms and eventually grows up and follows his dad's footsteps. it was his turn to inform a little girls of her father's death closing the circle. Sad but necessary to protect the our castle of glass: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.
Rip Chester
This is one of the best reactions to Castle Of Glass, It's excellent you understood it's meaning.
Especially, in the Special Operation community, I've always respected how the one's that make it home. Look out for their Fallen Brother's Family.
Chester is gone, but never forgotten. Rest in peace Chester, Ruhe in Frieden, from Germany
AWESOME Song 😍 That Intro 🖤🖤🖤🤘
Crack in the Castle of Glass means sliver of hope that we created that are lost in the process
God bless all those who serve!! Thank-you for your sacrifice and my freedom!!!
Mad Respect to you @iamsickflowz! Love your content. This is such a meaningful song and sounds dope too.
Castle of glass
An inspiring song for all the people serving the Army.
This song has multiple interpretation. I think this song has a spiritual meaning.
This is the most immaculate interpretation of one's own life and the fight within. The hardest and the most difficult battle is fought within one's mind and Alone!!
Here I go describing about it..
Take me down to the river bend
Take me down to the fighting end
Wash the poison from off my skin
Show me how to be whole again
1.Down the river bend - the flow of the life force, destiny. Despite the struggles in one's life ,you ‘go with the flow.’
2. Fighting End - this signifies the struggle, miseries you face in lifetime. One confronts to one's own conscience , about all the actions.
3. Wash the poison off my skin -
Asking for forgiveness and mercy to remove all the misdeeds one has committed in the lifetime.
4. Show me how to be whole again.
After redemption one wants to return to the pure state. Be clear of all the debts/sins.
Fly me up on a silver wing
Past the black where the sirens sing
Warm me up in a nova's glow
And drop me down to the dream below
1.Fly me up on silver wing - one wants to fly , as one is fully free. After the purification , one is pure calm and shines like silver!! The wing signifies the support. So this describes the refreshing new transformation one has undergone and has achieved freedom.
2. Past the black where the siren sings - As one's transformed, pure and has achieved freedom, Now looks back at the black - dark materialistic world. The siren sings - the cunning and enticing "Desire" tries to trap him/her back to the dark world through lust. This serves as the testing point.
3. Warm me up in the Nova' glow -
This is all about the enlightenment. When one breaks free from all the desire, One wants to gain true knowledge and awareness about reality.
4. Drop me down to the dream below - As one has requested earlier, he/she wants to remove I, ME tags and wants that to be dropped into the dream-materialistic world, as one wants to be whole again, wants to be in purest state never changing and ever prevailing.
'Cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass
Hardly anything there for you to see
For you to see
1. I 'm only a crack in this castle of glass - One has achieved the highest realization about being pure and whole and true form. The society , mankind and the progress it has made signifies -" The Castle" and "Glass" represents the nature of humans - who are battling within and are not yet pure and are quite brittle by nature. So 'I' is the "crack" which is not free from one's conscience and not pure. This also describes the nature of our society. It has grown as castle because of the individual's self interest rather than the concern about mankind.
2. Hardly anything there for you to see - We are amazed by this castle yet we don't see because we are too concerned about our own selves and hence there's hardly anything in the "Castle" for us.
Bring me home in blinding dream
Through the secrets that I have seen
Wash the sorrow from off my skin
And show me how to be whole again
1. Bring me home in Blinding dream - One is enlightened and the light emanating is blinding, wants to remain in that state for eternity-dream.
2. Through the secrets that I have seen - One has experienced the human life form.
3. Wash the sorrow from off my skin - One wants to remove all the worldly attachments possible as he/her has become the ONE.
'Cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass
Hardly anything there for you to see
For you to see
For you to see
'Cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass
Hardly anything else I need to be
'Cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass
Hardly anything there for you to see
For you to see
For you to see
For you to see
What that song means to me( I'll explain it by the lyrics)
"Wash the poision from off my skin, show me how to be whole again."
The poision is all the negativity, regrets, and depression that your body has grown to accept and asking someone to help you "wash" or get them off you is saying that you want to change but you can't without someone's help.
Asking someone to show you how to be whole again is you needing them to help you become who you once were before all the depression.
"Warm me up in a nova's glow and drop me down into the dream below."
Is asking someone to warm you up in a nova's glow, in this case their love and kindness, to help you return back to who you once were.
Drop me down into the dream below is saying that after you have been warned up into that person's love and kindness, you ask them to drop you into your "dream" where all negativity and depression is non existent.
"Hardly anything there for you to see." Is saying that nobody is noticing your sudden change in your mood, but for some people that actually care about you can see that little crack of depression and negativity in your life.
Joe Hahn directed this video in cooperation with people from EA Games to promote MEDAL OF HONOR WARFIGHTER game
I love this song, definitely my favorite song in the world. I love linkin park so much.
Dude I was expecting this reaction for a very long time! I LOVED IT!
some sid notes:
The last two songs of the album, tinfoil and powerless, I recommend reacting to those two in one video because tinfoil is a intro for powerless;
At last, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR HAIR?
Or maybe it means a imperfection in a world of greatness
Theres not many songs that give me goosebumps everytime i listen to it, this is one of them, especially paired with the video
If people knew what the real message behind the song was , you'd wouldn't even know how to react. The message goes wayyyyy beyond that. People that followed this band closely know what im talking about
Actually Chester comes in ‘Fly me up on a silver wing’ with back vocals
Love this song! Nice reaction.
I'd imagine if a castle (stone ones, anyways) are supposed to be strong, and last as long as possible, a glass one would just be an illusion of strength. And that one crack can ruin the "strong" appearance/facade, and eventually bring down the castle.
When this video first came out I could not watch more then a minute of it cause I cried everytime! Same thing with Lost in the Echo!
And yeah I have many friends in the military and out of it and all of them hav e my respect. They were able to do what I couldn't! I tried to join the Marines just after I graduated high school but couldn't due to my asthma!
to me it kinda means overcoming pain and growing from it.
In the first chorus they say (pain) is only a small detail. a crack in a gigantic castle of glass, hardly anything left for you to see. It's there, never forget it, but (in comes second chorus) hardly anything else it needs to be, so you CAN see it as no big deal, for the lack of a better expression. So when you see a crack in a castle of glass, you have 2 options: consider the whole castle doomed and abandon it, or move on. Sometimes you need help from others (like when those two guys came to help cheer up the son of their fallen brother), but either way, you CAN move on and grow from that crack.
God bless you guys, and God bless the Military who serve their people
This is the song that got me back into LP after I foolishly skipped Thousand Suns. Beautifuly composed
If you play Medal of Honor 2010 and Medal of Honor Warfighter, there is one character (Rabbit) that you play as who dies at the end of the first one, I remember reading that the boy in the video was his son and those that were coming to his house as the chaplain told him were the other characters in the game that were there when he dies. The song plays at the end of Warfighter as a throwback to the events of the first game when at the line "For Rabbit" is uttered, the video was EA and Linkin Parks telling of what happened to his family after his death, with his son following in his footsteps. With the son and his father being just two pieces that make up the line between life and death for those around them.
It's one of my favorite song of LP and Favorite song from Living Things 💙💙💙 Man the Lyrics ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Rest in peace chester. We will miss you.
"Fly me up on a silver wing" is believed by some (and admittedly myself) to allude to Isaiah 40:31 "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Castle of Glass is my favorite song from Living Things, my favorite song of Linkin Park, my favorite song of all.
The same for me, but it's Powerless instead (castle of glass is the second anyway)
We are little crack in the castle of glass, but there's so many cracks, the castle could explode anytime
Castle of Glass is my favorite because it brought me and my boyfriend together 😊 we bonded over Linkin Park
Sings like an angel screams like the devil! Legendary! RIP Chester!
I love this song
This song was originally made for the game medal of honor you can see gameplay in the video and it turned into a song to respect to the troops
This was a great reaction video. That's nice to see. Thank you.
Great job as always, one of the best song, of LP
Really nice work you are doing here bro. Loved this
My favorite song of Living Things is Lost In The Echo. But all of them are amazing. All Songs from LP are amazing!!
Chester and Mike are the best duo of all time
They’re songs are all about reality of the world
And I love that. Rip in the sky Chazzy Bennington
the boy didn't follow his dad's steps exactly... he's the one bringing the news to the little girl...
This is the one song from this album i have been waiting for and my favorite from it.
The kid grows up, joins up, and passes away serving his country. Then the chaplain comes and delivers the news to his daughter that he was killed in action. The kid does not grow up to become the chaplain that delivers the news
It's such a great song..one of my favorites in the album...but it's such an underrated song
#ripchester
I believe this is chesters backstory (not sure) but Chester’s childhood was really rough and he became depressed because he was sick and in pain (I’m not sure about it but I believe it’s true) RIP Chester we miss you 😔🤟❤️
From The Inside(Road to Revolution) - Linkin Park
I feel like the crack in the castle of glass means that even tho it´s only a little crack it can lead to a complete downfall of every single party of this castle. As the boy was the crack and when he grew up this crack created another crack with the girl. idk why but linkin park is just somewhere else.
This is first song what i hear from LP 💓💓💓. And i love it
One of their best songs. Mike sings this on his Post Traumatic tour ALONE. At first it unreal he was doin it. But in my opinion he was expressing " the castle can break at anytime" an thats what he is going through along with the rest of LP. Its so sad to me when he starts it on stage ALONE!!! This song was on a video game Medal of Honor. I salute all the troops. Where would we be without them protecting us an our national interest? After you have gone through The Hunting Party next ,One More Light. You better get tissue on alot of them. The whole album minus a couple, seem to me, to be focusing on Chesters state of mind or battles in his life. Maybe its just me but " Heavy" an " Nobody can save me" an "Sharp Edges"(Chazzy said in a interview that that one was one of his fav off album)an " Battle Symphony ". " One More Light" the song was actually written back in early 2016 for a woman who worked for them who died of cancer. Then it became " Chesters" Eulogy song. LP could just do collabs with various artists , male or female, for awhile until they figure something out. Great video. Thanks Joe H.
Can't wait to see you react to until it breaks.
The story of the clip is soo damn good and sad
I loved the reaction. Just one sugestion: try to not pause videos in the reactions, i think
this gets in the way of the full understanding of the video.
Btw... React to Linkin Park- Primo (I'll Be Gone Demo)... It's better than the finished version, in my opinion
All of their unreleased demos are so fucking good. If only they could reach out to a larger audience, Linkin park could be the most recognized band. People listening to shit music today don't know what they're missing out on
The silver wings are the drop helicopters and the end is the death notice for the son's daughter.
it's my fave one...cause I can feel it..
This is my favorite song of of this album because of the driving rhythm and sweet hook... makes you want to cry.
Love that you’re doing Linkin Park series.... I’m hoping to see you do some new Twenty One Pilots reactions, too.
If you enjoy this style of theatrical video, you’ve gotta check out My Blood by TøP!
thanks UA-cam for show me this in mid page. I really appreciate your work and you did a very nice video
It's usually a Chaplin and their Escort. Chances are he was asking the kid if his mom was home. and having been on the receiving end for my little sister, Its like getting drop kicked in the soul.
Like, you ever open an oven and get blasted by that heat and you lose your breath, just without the heat.
My favorite song from this album is Powerless
Same.
Say: I love Linkin Park 🤗😉😜❤❤❤❤❤❤😍 I❤LP . Чес жив . One more love . Forever! У меня слезы, голос моего детства
the thing that blows my mind about this is that it's a country song, and it's spectacular. I hate, hate, hate country music
Chester's death was a crack in the castle of glass
Waiting for ur reaction to Powerless.
They are called Chaplain from what I understand. They handle the militaries personal affairs.
This song was on the ps3 game medal of honor warfighter.. if you notice some of the clips are from the video game
Hi flows it's nobody24 from twitch.
Final Masquerade please
There DJ called MR.Han, does a lot of directing their music videos.
You should check out one more light by linkin Park it's a great song and a tribute to chester
This song is from a Medal of Honor video game soundtrack
A video of a boy losing his father in the military then growing up and joining the military himself and then his daughter is told that her father/the young boy died as well
If that helps people understand a bit
