  • Need a replacement PCM? Having trouble figuring out which part number you need? In this video we show you how to determine which part number you really need.
When replacing a Ford powertrain control module, the most accurate way to ensure you receive the correct replacement unit is to order the unit by hardware type:
**The hardware type is identified by a code printed on the original PCM, typically by 3 alphanumeric characters, a dash, then another 3-5 characters

I needed a PCM for my 1998 Ford Taurus, went to auto zone, they couldn't get, went to O'Reilly, there cheapest was 200$, ended up going to pick and pull, payed 65$, didn't have to be calibrated, started right up, my problem was solved, no codes have popped up!

I just received my Cardone PCM and it says I can manually program without a scanner. It didn’t come with any instructions and wants me to refer to OE approved service manual for a 30 minute manual procedure. The average persons don’t have access to this information so where can I get setup information. 1993 Ford Taurus. 3.8. ALSO WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS of a bad pcm. My fuel pump runs continuously when the key is turned. And the car won’t start.

I have an enquiry for the pcm. I use ford explorer 1997 v6 SOHC. I have a failure on ignition system. So, I ordered a second hand pcm with the same number, but it is from v6 OHV. Will it be a problem? Now, the engine is running good but I am not sure for the transmission program. Will it be the same? Many thanks in advance for your advice.

I purchased a ECM for my 1995 F-150 xl through Summit racing and was told by Cordone that they do not have one in stock so I asked if we Summit/ myself could send them my unit which they said yes but after a week of waiting Summit told me that if we sent it to them after being refurbished it would go to the person that ordered one before me and that I would have to wait God knows how long before I'd get it.
Bottom line that sounds to me like bad business practices.
I fix my ECM myself. !

I'm trying to put a performance chip in my 97 e 450 super duty with a 7.3. All chip suppliers say the same thing - we don't make em for vans. WTF ? I'm thinking the go around is to put a computer from a 97 f 450 pickup in. What say you sir ?

I recently purchased a remanufactured PCM with the same part numbers that my old has its on my 2003 Ford E450 that previously had a service engine light (on dash) with a scanned code of PO155 which Is a faulty O2 Heater sensor on bank 2 .... replaced sensor also checked voltage, ground, fuses, wires all were good .....thats what lead me to believe the PCM was bad.....Ater installing the reman PCM my engine idle was so high I was afraid to put in it gear .......ran it for about 10 minutes To see if it would idle down. Turned it off I cycled the Key started it....again idle is high BUT NO SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON and no PO155 CODE on scanner.......installed my old unit idle went back to normal ........My question is what did the supplier of the reman. PCM Not do that it would idle so high.
