I thought the tach was reading low. Turns out i was short shifting it.
Revving 6-9 all the way to 2300 is crazy.

Now THAT'S truck'n nostalgia! But remember, when grossing 70k, rowing through those gears takes a while. If you got a 1 or 2% grade, you probably ain't gonna get anywhere near #10 hole! Never underestimate how hard a life the people who did it had. Hot in summer, cold in winter, and VERY high maintenance. And they did it because it was a massive improvement over the trucks from 10 or more years prior. Thanks for this. Tough as it was, the memories are GREAT!

I have alot of respect for the guys that drove these for a living. Cramped cabs, crappy heaters, no A/C and a whole 238HP.

How fast did it go in top gear?

I was short shifting it for most of the video. 1600-1800. Couple times I had it to 2100. But with the tall 24.5" tires it should go 65 at 2350rpm.
