I love how the smash community has many different #1's. It's like a story that is constantly changing and is so intense. This, since the 5 gods were formed is the prime of what melee has become.
It really looks like Armada has figured out all of Hbox’s tricks. What really got me was when Hbox did a couple back airs and then went in to do a tomahawk dash grab/attack, and Armada called it out so hard by run up up smashing before it could even come out. I also see Armada just jumping over Bairs and nairing Hbox which leads into up smash, and I think that’s how he got a lot of his kills. While I do enjoy how Plup beats Hbox by overwhelming him with movement and different mixups, I definitely appreciate Armada’s more methodical, surgical approach to picking him apart.

Honestly, when I saw who the top 4 player were (Mew2King, Leffen, HBox and 'Armada in losers'), for some reason I thought he could even be the one with less opportunity to take the tournament (I mean, he won against HBox last time they met, but he really has been struggling against those three as of late) was Armada… But he proved me wrong... This man was FUEGO these sets, feels like its been a while since I last saw Armada moving around his opponent like this. I enjoyed greatly this GF, thank you Armada for such amazing display.
please melee community hire professional sound engineers to make sure there aren't any audio and microphone problems, there are people passionate enough to make sure the problems that occure at the end of the video never ever happen. This literally happens at almost every super major, it is not something difficult to fix ( i am a sound engineer myself and know this) and would make the content look alot more professional. other than that the rest of this is quality content.
@sage798 Honestly if i could attend these kind of tournaments I would gladly help out ( I'm a huge smash fan). Sadly, I live in France and would need to have the means to travel to these events or at least live in the U.S.
in their rivalry... there's never been a time where armada was in loser's, reset the bracket, and didn't win the tournament. anytime he's ever reset the bracket against hbox he's won. momentum is huge.
This set says two things to me - Armada is way better in the Puff matchup again, which is good for melee and his success as a player - Hbox is slacking, probably because there haven't been too many foxes which can challenge him lately, it seems like his spacing is off and his approaches are inopportune and predicable Glad to see Armada back and hope Hbox steps it up after this! Two of my favorite players and always glad to see such a classic matchup again.

The many hours at the lab have payed off, Armada has discovered a new method of dissolving the nails in Melee’s coffin. Compound FoX is ready for mass market consumption.
I like that armada isn't #1 anymore, its so much easier to cheer for him. He's like the superman of melee: He's op to the point of boredom, but at the end of the day he's still on the side of good :]
The audio stream from the game had a buttload of aliasing throughout this entire tourney. I dunno how this stuff is recorded, but please make sure to resample when changing sample rates and/or low pass/high cut when converting from analog to digital so you don't get these problems.
Amazing job to Armada but it's such a shame that the ending was ruined by three crucial things: the random voice cutting in, Brandon rambling on about accidentally saying "Smash 4," and Wobbles shouting out to Ninja way too early and for way too long. I'm a huge Melee fan but it still surprises and disappoints me how unprofessional tournaments can be ran. At this point we need to seriously start improving the quality of tournaments because although I sometimes love the ridiculous commentary moments, I'm tired of consistently bland and irrelevant chat through the match. I definitely want to see more people commentate like Wobbles and DJNintendo because they're professional, interesting, and also likable while not being annoying or overly serious.

FUCK YES. I love when Armada wins against HBOX. But you really gotta hand it to HBOX. He uses such a low tier character against the top tier Fox and still always ends up in Grand Finals nearly every tournament. IMHO hes number 1 player in the world because of that. Great match.
