This set honestly in my opinion is up there as one of the greatest Melee sets of all time. Watching it live was absolutely insane.

IMO this is the best Melee match ever.
Holy shit... that may have been the best set I have ever seen in Melee. And if not, it's at least in top 3 my god.
This just proves that Leffen is the 6th God. He can take high pressure situations are turn them back around even when Armada stole all of the momentum.

The pressure that Leffen is always under, also considering he was banned for a whole year, and came back.
The crowd always against him and he still manages to win and shit everyone up I respect that.
Casey Sheahan For being a general bad person, Armada was actually one of the main contributors, making a now infamous file (evidence.zip) full of reasons why he should be banned. Hence Leffens fans now being called ZIPBOYS

The power of the Pokemon Theme song brought Armada back.
That was the most hype I have ever been sitting alone watching smash.
In the interview, Leffen said he only realised at the end that he had to start being aggressive back and that was true if you notice on battlefield he turns it up last moment, he just got caught if guard when armada turned up the gears.
Love how the crowd, when Armada begins to have a good advantage, is over reacting to every back air, up tilt, or grab from him.
But he sure was very good with his Fox, while Leffen seemed to have completely forgot how to play for a moment

Honestly even though Leffen won the set, I think this speaks volumes about the tiers of your character limiting you. People are calling him Mango when he went Fox and started bodying Leffen.
Look at what Armada did here. One week back from Paragon Armada fourstocked Leffen at BEAST with Peach. Then he nearly double fourstocks him with Fox at Paragon.
You can really see that Armada's character is holding him back. I don't want him to convert, but if Armada was up in sets vs Mango in 2014 with Peach only, then we can only imagine how much more dangerous he is as Fox. Mango's Falco vs Armada's Fox is something I wanna see. Just one game.
We only got to see 3...as in 3-0 Armada (after winning game 1 w/Peach and countering Mango's pick).
Didn't know Darkfall had a such a killer Fox.

Leffen was playing very well, than Armada went in the zone and pushed to game 5 but leffen was able to channel the zone as well and he came out on top! Crazy
i think leffen is a new breed of fox that shows you don't have to be technically insane to win, just good enough to combo and fast enough to win the majority of neutral games.
But leffen has some fantastic tech despite some of his sds

If you watch at 13:21, you'll see Armada got a phantom hit jab. If that landed it would have been game.

Can someone explain to me what a phantom jab is? at 13:20
The jab was what's called a "phantom hit." The hit boxes of the attack (they're really just circles) and the hurtbox of a character (also circle) are tangent, meaning they touch but do not overlap. What this means is that the attach does 0 knock back and half the % of damage.
Armada would have most likely won if the jab fully connected. At that percentage, jab would have lead to an upsmash kill. That's what made that moment incredibly insane.
yague123 Just to note though, it's not like it was random. So it's almost like saying Armada would have won if he played better and spaced the jab better.

No, you said he could have done something better. How about you reread what you said dude. I do understand the point you're trying to make but the way you worded it could have definitely been better. The phantom hit may or may not have lead to his loss in the game. That it. Not, oh he didn't do this right so he lost. If that's the case, every single person that loses lost because they didn't do good. I personally loved this Set between Armada and Leffen. And I DISLIKE Leffen. But I acknowledge that they both played some very good melee. I really wouldn't change much of anything that they did. Text wall is done.

Did Armada really deserve the phantom jab at 13:20 that would've more than likely ended the game? Or did Leffen deserve it for the crowd being against him as usual, and since he turned it up last game. Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z. Definitely one of my favourite sets in Melee history.

I honestly think that first stock from Armada on game 3 just completely fucked up Leffen for the next 3 games. After that he was playing like garbo and Armada was playing amazing. It was kind of the turning point where Leffen was like, shit, his fox is actually good, and he just couldn't adjust his mindset to the huge wtf that 3rd game was.

Mango's going to need to consider the Fox ditto at some point soon, especially if you've seen Apex. I know he isn't confident in it, but he's going to get rekt if he doesn't get over that.
