My fern had a huge story,
When i was maybe 8 years old i planted something in the soil in a candy cap when i visited my aunt's house, then when i came back i was 12 years old (I'm 13 btw), my aunt game me this Blue Star Fern, she said that she found this on her porch (i think) then when we came back to our house, i repotted my blue star fern i noticed the roots of my fern had the same shape as the candy cap, and dayum it has a LOT of roots, and i can see that it came a long way to grow.

Thats crazy lol who would have thought it was growing up right along with you 😅 I wish my aunt secretly had taken care of plants she could give me lol

Got one, but was root rotted. Amended the soil with copious amounts of dead broken tree leaf matter. Now the soil is light and fluffy. I also add soil to get the crown or center mounded and get the rhizomes up level with the top edge of the container. Now the rhizomes can grow straight to the edge and over. But I will repot it in the spring in a larger shallow pot before the rhizomes start their journey down the sides of the pot. (Edited to correct auto correct).

That fern looks like it belongs in a Jurassic park movie. Looks good for sure.👍

I really like that one! I have two ferns in small terrariums and I am hoping to eventually get a fern Ike this one.

I have one here in the UK and my 6yr old called it 'Pidge' due to the leaf shape. They are just phallically adorable

I'd say lots of drainage? I'm so new at this plant thing so don't take my word for it.
