Everything?! Pearl reference pure wood snare. 14/5. regular purewire snare, evans reverse dot power centre whatever it is. Couple of bits of moon gel. Bosh! ;)
Hi Tim. My son and I met you in London after the conductor exited. Great to see you play 'My Shot'. Elliot is a fan of John Bonham, et al. Do you have any Bonham tracks you have recorded? What is one of your favourite rock songs to drum to?
Hi - yes I remember. How are you? I don’t have any Bonham tracks to share although I did record whole lotta love for someone last week, weirdly! I don’t play along to stuff much nowadays tbh but I remember I used to like playing along to immigrant song and the ocean. Good luck with it all Elliott! Thanks for the message. :)
Hey Tim, dig your playing and appreciate you sharing this awesome view with us! Curious as to what drove your DTX set-up, with it way off to your left and auxiliary pads (?) by your snare, vs. having the entire unit in front a la Broadway. What drove you to make that placement decision? Cheers!
Thanks very much - glad you liked it! Well, I found having the toms all down one side annoying for fills etc and the DTX is not used much, esp in Act 1 and, when it is used, it’s just kick and snare mostly. So I made the kit into more of a regular kit and used aux pads. So the DTX is pretty much just a controller. Cheers! Tim
@@TimGoodyerDrums realizing I missed this reply initially, but thank you so much! That makes a ton of sense and also answer the question I was always wondering about what in the kit book was sampled. Thanks again!
Awesome! I noticed that the multi 12 sits on the left, where it sits in front of Andres on the Broadway version as he found it such an important piece of the set. Is there a reason they chosen not to this at the West-End run?
Hi - thanks for watching. I moved it and replaced it with 2 Roland pads either side of tom 1 which are connected to the multi 12, as you only need 2 pads at one time. Then I could have a regular tom set up. The multi 12 isn’t used that much in the show tbh. Cheers.
Thanks Bailey! No it was taken from the band’s Instagram takeover so it’s more of a general mix of the whole band and we weren’t allowed to use the vocals (for legal reasons I think). I would usually have more bass/click/guitar than this and some (although not loads of) vocals. Thanks for watching!!
I don’t have to think about it too much tbh. I use the music as a reminder now. But it’s very heavily written out, so originally it was a pretty full on read! Thanks for watching!
Sorry I didn’t see this! They’re sabians. 16” artisan hats, 19 artisan crash and and 18” HHX of some sort - can’t remember. The ride is a 24” king ride and there’s a stack which is an 18” ozone over a 14” mini china. And there’s a 20” symphonic cymbal which I just used for cymbal scrapes. Cheers!
I always forget there's no horns in the pit and it's all programmed into the keyboards until I hear it isolated like this.
I'm a little late but that ride sounds FANTASTIC
Tell me everything about that main snare, it's so crispy and woody, I love it

Smh didn't even include what you had for breakfast that day...
Seriously though, thank you!! Your feel is great.
@@TJF97 thanks! And.... toast.
Favorite comment thread I’ve seen in a while.

So good man! Thank you for sharing!
This is T-I-G-H-T!!
Great stuff, Sir! You have a great feel...so musical!
Great ghost notes fella 😁
Nice one Tim! Hope you’re well mate
Yeah Tim! Top playing.

The ride cymbal sounds cool
Sounds like a piece of plastic to me 🤣🤣
@@santiagorios1388 I have mixed feelings about it tbh. It's a very nice low volume cymbal but for this it doesn't cut enough IMO.
Tim Goodyer yeah I agree
Awesome!
I love how at 0:48 it sounds almost like a marching band drum
Marching drums are much more crisp
Hey Tim! Excellent playing! Is this usually the mix you play to for the show? (Without vocals and lots of guitar?)

Your a awesome drummer
This was really well produced! How did you record the audio?
Thanks I took a line out from the monitor mixer. So it's already a pro mix.
@@TimGoodyerDrums How did you record it without the click?
Alex Tannenbaum I used a separate spare mixer in the drum booth.
@@TimGoodyerDrums did you mix it yourself?
@@joshuanesbit I balanced the instruments and EQd my mix, yes. But what is sent to me in the first place by the sound dept sounds pretty good already.
Toms sounds unbelievably good. What heads are you using?
Thanks they’re Evans ec2 clear and I think a hydraulic on the 16” Tom
does it become second nature to you over time or do you still heavily rely on the sheet music??

Tim Goodyer oh that’s cool! thanks for replying!
what do you mean not perfect? i'm sure Andres has already told you this is better than his verison : P
Imagine
What is your favorite song to play when you play drums in Hamilton
My guess is Schuyler sisters
WOAH WOAH WOAHHHH WOAAHHH
What cymbals do you use might I ask?

Is this from the actual pro show?
