The first time I saw Ted was 1975 at Cobo arena which was pretty much the only place the biggest rock acts would play at that time. a new band from Canada warmed up for Ted named Rush, who just came out with a new album called Fly by night. By the next time I saw him in 1978 He was the biggest selling Rock artist in the US, Stranglehold album has to be one of the top 5 rock albums of all time. Every song on it rocks. Cut mine in 76 in Cincinnati
Ted Nugent is easy to play on Guitar .
That's just sad.
im so sorry if kiss changed your life u r screwed
I just cannot tire of that song!!!! Awesome!!!
Ted Nugent and Sully What a great combination both are great lead singers in my opinion
Thats INCREDIBLE that song and Nugent and band at there very best ! AWSOME
Just found this a couple days ago and I remember him form last 70’s and his music just still to this day speaks to my soul☘️🧜♀️🇱🇷

One of the greatest things I've ever seen online.
1. God
2. Country
3. Fellow man
Motor city madman is a true American.. ive been a fan forever..
Godsmack!!!! Oh, hell yes!!! Love this combo.... thx guys... we're blessed
A Real Detroit Patriot. Grew up in St. Clair Shores Michigan. I love my State and Country. God Bless You Mr. Neugent. Keep the pride ALIVE. May God Bless Our Country and Our Leader. A true and proud American. God bless our Strong Soldiers. Keep Our Country OURS. Love Rosario
love Nugent all the way from Canada saw you way back in the 80's great then great now :)
this just sounds so amazing, herd this song thousands of times in my life. and it continues to blow my mind.
The first time I saw Ted was 1975 at Cobo arena which was pretty much the only place the biggest rock acts would play at that time. a new band from Canada warmed up for Ted named Rush, who just came out with a new album called Fly by night. This song put him on the map nationally but for the longest time he was Detroits best kept secret. By the next time I saw him in 1978 He was the biggest selling Rock artist in the US, Stranglehold album has to be one of the top 5 rock albums of all time. Every song on it rocks. I still dig Deadly Tedly
Greg Jay Aw man, bet that was a hell of a show. You saw the back when they were still having to work for it.
+Greg Jay Saw him at the "77 Iowa Jam, not a fan of his politics but man he can rock!
Greg Jay this song fucking rocks!
First time I saw Ted was 'bout 1964 or '65...woooah!
Man I was there too I lived in Monroe Michigan got a ride with my friends in Ford van I was a freshman in high school that year one of the best memories I will ever have , six years on a nuclear, Ted stands up for the military you got to love that
I've seen Ted so many times in Toledo and Detroit for the new years bashes... He is still one of the finest shows.
Ahhhh, yes! Love me some Ted Nugent! This is great!
Thank you so much, Claire! Your kind words mean the world to me and I'm so happy that my music resonates with you.
Keep on listening and I'II keep on creating
My Brother loves this song. he says it was the perfect song while he drove the long haul routes across the USA!
Saw Ted in '78 or '79, have to say he was one of the best showmen I have ever seen live.
After watching this, I suddenly decided I would love to see him play with Les Claypool.
Just love how he teases the feedback outta that Gibson!
He works that neck pickup (prob a PAF) and gets those huge hollow swells. The man is an absolute guitar god. From the original old school of rock n roll he’s top 3 especially when it comes to those heavy grooves. 1. Hendrix 2.Iommi 3.Sweaty Teddy!!!!!!!
Saw Ted at Gilligan's a live music bar in Buffalo in about '69 / '70. He kept playing till the owners had to pull the plug on him. We met with Ted and his band after the show at the airport Holiday Inn. He talked to us for quite a while, even though he had a few ladies waiting for him. Great guy.
The spirit of the wild is still in Uncle Ted. And god DAMN this man can still rock. 70 years old and doesnt sound a day over 30. God Bless The Nuge.
best 8 and a half minutes of rock and roll I have ever heard.
Uncle Ted should be President of these United States of America!
And you should be deported for making such a retarted statement
Ted, like Trump was a draft-dodger, maybe that's why they both kiss the troops asses, they feel little guilty for not have the balls to fight for their country.
Song doesn't get it's due. Top 5 All Time!!!
Agreed !
i've literally never heard this song before in my life...so yeah, no
Absolutely
@@np9145 that literally means jack shit mate 😂 broaden your music tastes

My dad is retired from the Marines and served his country with honor for 3 tours in Vietnam. My brothers 5 of them are retired from the USMC. I am proud of each and every service men and women who have made more sacrifices than any civilian can understand. Respect and love to them all.

I,m from the UK and 54 yrs old and this song takes me back to 18 yrs old when i bought Double Live Gonzo. What an artist Nugent is.Amazing guitar player.Still brilliant Live even now.
One of the best versions of Stranglehold Ive ever heard! I would love to hear Sully put the vocals to it...not saying Ted didn't knock it out, just would love to hear Sully do it some Justice!!!!!! Keep Rockin' Uncle Ted!!!!
Agree, Teds voice degraded, but he works it in with his guitar so well
Dayuuum, I love Ted Nugent's guitar playing !! The man is amazing !! Truly one of rocks greatest of all time !!! Hall of fame bound for sure !!!!!!
The best thing I have seen! The Nuge still has it all!

Leave uncle Ted alone haters!!!!!!!!
God bless the U.S.A and all its armed forces ,Freedom Mo foes!
In the USA a man should be able to speak his mind so I have no problems with him AND man can he play the guitar!
love ya should be that up here in Canada also cheers
JDK, exactly!!!
I don't like saying it, but it was just as tight, if not more so than Ted with his own band! WTG on rehearsals for getting Everything done right, down pat! if I didn't know better(and I don't), I'd say that Godsmack was playing Ted's songs since the beginning of their careers!
Thank you
Extremely Epic 💪
Rock on a leval so high u can’t reach it🥰
Holy shit, I was there, as a US Marine and at this concert and on that base.. so nice to see this. Thanks for posting!
A living ICON, one of the best guitar players ever. Nuff said!!!!!!
Love Ted Nugent or hate him...wow...smoking on the guitar.
@@rothsuede Let's see your rendition...We're waiting.
Rothsuede. try to write something that gets this reaction 30 or 40 years later. dumbass comment. You may or may not be able to play guitar but with a comment like that I am certain you aren't a Musician.

@@rothsuede He's proof that a child can do it. 😎
@@erikvaldur3334 Your right and I'M sorry for it.
This version will be my walkout song at my next fight. That was the best version of this that I've ever heard him do!
God bless our troops, and I'd love to see Ted Nugent and God Smack in concert that would be one hell of a fucking show.
Very first concert I ever seen was Ted. 7th grade. I remember going to the bathroom and all the older guys said “let’s here it for Uncle Ted”. I’m 57 now, but that memory remains. Saginaw, Mi
Hopefully the younger generation he's playing to weren't even born when he first came out with this song! Rock and Roll will always live on. Rock on Ted & Godsmack!
Ted Nugent for President!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
