I sat there gawking at the covers of Free For All and Cat Scratch Fever while listening for hours I'd pose in the mirror with the cheap Hondo electric. This launched my own fever for guitar playing! Now I can really play along with those recordings. ❤

Also saw Ted with Damn Yankees, they carried him off stage during a solo because the house lights were on, and he was still smokin his Birdy. Lucky enough to see Sammy pre-Van Halen, doing his 3 Lock Box tour, Standing Hampton Tour, and then with Van Halen for all the Albums he was on, 5150 Tour, OU812 Tour, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour, and the Balance Tour.

Saw Ted twice back in the day...awesome both times. Saw him on TV too, with Dolly Parton on the Mike Douglas Show! Saw Sammy Hagar with ZZ Top a million years ago. During a song some panties flew up on stage...he shuts the band down, stops the concert dead, asks who threw these? Says do you want to come up on stage and take the rest off? Decades before crowd-surfing was a thing the crowd starts feeding some girl to the stage. Sammy sits back on the drum riser, the drummer and bass player start playing stripper music and this girl starts dancing and stripping...crowd when fucking INSANE, thought the roof was coming down. When she got to where it might have been illegal they snatched her off the stage and they finished the set. Amazing. I'd love to tell you the year but it's all a bit hazy these days.
Ted and his memory are amazing. I love seeing him jamming and talking about all the greats that influenced him and many others. Then. when he plays his own take on them, you realize he is amazing.... Then he starts a youtube channel and everything is awesome. Then he starts talking politics and allows crazy people to take over his show. Two GREATS! Met Sammy so long ago... he was still with Ronnie Montrose, but what you see is what you get! It was just before he and Ronnie went their separate ways and, well... anyway, Sammy is the one rocker I would've expected to do what they just did! The last time I saw Ronnie was at X-Fest in Modesto, CA, only a short time before he left us. I was blessed to speak with him briefly, would really have loved to see he and Sammy back together for at least one show... Hey Sammy, do you remember the delivery guy who brought your new TV in the summer of 2011? When my 2nd wife left me, he and his wife, Julie, refused to allow me to be alone and moved me into their spare room! He was so, overtaken, by your genuine nature and generosity (he didn't believe me!). The second time I was blessed to speak with you was at the Stockton Civic Auditorium on your first "Red Rocker" tour! Time has been kind to us both, God Bless you!

i think it was in 1976 i was in the Navy stationed at Alameda CA and went to my first concert. Arowsmith opened up for Ted Nugent. Both were awesome.
