Thanks for the review Dr Brown! I miss the days when you used to review lots of these cheap Chinese pens (many of which I then went out and ordered on eBay...). Love your content either way!
Concerning this pen
Use the supplied cap for storage
Take is off when in use
Also
Buy and review the MAJOHN A2 Press Fountain Pen Retractable EF
In plastic
The A1 is metal
An almost direct copy of my beloved Vanishing Points
I have both the metal and plastic in EF
Super smooth
I finally have a retractable that I can EDC and not be concerned about loss
I got this same pen last week branded as a jinhao on Temu also got Jinhao brown ink. The ink bottle was like that of a Sailor bottle but the ink dried a bright red color.
Hi Stephen, if you think about it, this pen makes a great cheap student pen. Even though it has that kinda silly cap and it may dry out, during a lecture or school class when retracted it may stay wetter longer than a normal fountain pen and that means it would be great for those note taking. Bonus points for students, it's cheaper than a cappuccino c:

Several months ago I ordered a handful of these retractable pens, partly to give neighborhood urchins as trick-or-treat items. As none of the aforementioned little dears appeared, I now have these clicky pens. I believe "st penpps" refers to the seller, rather than the brand of the pen, though Chinese pens can come from different factories and can have different brands marked on them, though the items seem indistinguishable. That said, the pens are silly, functional, and undoubtedly cheap. Hooded nib is a hooded nib, but not identical to the P51, imho. Thanks for reviewing a cheap pen. Thanks for avoiding total rejection before giving it a try.
I am glad that you have included less expensive pens in addition to high priced pens for your review. This is my wheelhouse. However, why should there be a cap? For a couple of pennies more there should be a door. Also, the cap will get lost.
This looks like the very obviously saw the the lamy safari ballpoint and gave it the fountain pen one's grip
Are those the same kind of cartridges used by the Ooly Splendid?
Can't say I have an urge to buy these cheaper pens that won't last long term, simply due to an awareness of the effect plastic will have on all life on earth. We're already swimming in plastic, literally. At least with the better built pens, they have a chance to stay intact in the future.

Is St. Penpps an actual brand? I see a lot of Chinese pens with St. Penpps in the listing, including the (outstanding) Lemon M1 I recently got. I also see other listings like "St. Penpps Jinhao", "St Penpps Kaigelu", and "St. Penpps Hongdian", brands I know are all their own thing. What IS St. Penpps?
Anywho, I ordered one of those pens from this review off Amazon a while back. Mine did not include a cap, and I knew it wouldn't last long when, even while retracted, the nib was still sticking out far enough to write. While first impressions were fine, as I suspected, the pen dried out before the day was through. I do have to wonder the point of a retractable fountain pen if you have to keep it capped to avoid it drying out on you.
St Penpps is the name given to all pens and parts sold by this particular AliExpress seller, Bobby (St penpps chinese pen store), regardless of their actual branding.
@@MaybachET22 Ah, okay! That makes a lot of sense. Thanks.
