Usually erasable pens “erase” when friction is applied to the dried ink. The ink doesn’t really erase, it just goes clear from the friction. The ink reacts to heat and cold, so if you put something that you “erased” in the freezer it would come back.

And this pen is not friction erasable - there’s a special marker which will erase this kind of blue ink. You want to look for something called an ink eradicator.

There are two kinds of erasable inks: thermosensitive inks which erase with the heat from friction, like Frixion pens. The other kinds that use this “erasable royal blue” or student blue need a particular marker that is sometimes called ink eradicator or “tintenkiller” in German 😆 I have tried both in fountain pens, and when erased as intended, they do erase. But not with graphite erasers or sand erasers.

The Pilot Frixion Ball Erasable Gel Pen's are, i use these daily, but you have to use the rubber on the end on the pen, normal erasers dont work

Ink needs another kind of eraser! It’s special for ink.
Pelikan does it. One side is a blank marker that erase and the other side is blue so you can write again.
But it’s not for art. It’s for students.

I have several erasable gel pens. Besides that they disappear from the heat of the lighter, they have a frosted plastic tip on the bottom and it's solid. They also cannot be erased with an ordinary eraser

As other comments have said, the ink is cleared when friction is applied. You can also apply heat from a hair dryer or heat gun

You have to buy a specific eraser, that has a white Marker on a side, and on the other a pen to write in the area onto you previously used the marker because the pen wouldn't work on top of it. It only works with blue ink, and not with the black for example, that's why it's written.
P.S. sorry of my English isn't the best, but I'm Italian, still learning😅

All my Pilot pens come with built in erasers, they don't look like normal pencil erasers, they're plastic and slightly rubbery. Trying using the tip on the cap or the end of the pen.

I have a normal pilot erasable pen and it has a special eraser for it on the back! You should try one of those or look around the pen and see if maybe the top or bottom has a special eraser for it!

You need an ink eradicator. Pelikan, Monteverde, and Lamy offer them. I've seen them on Amazon and Cult Pens.

Today, you can buy two types of pens (pilot but other as well). They are ment for the use at school mainly. The first type is new (about two years I think) an erasable Ball-pen with special ink, the eraser is included in the pen. And after you erase the sign you can write again with the same pen on the same place (but you can't use the water-effects).
The second type is yours - it's a fountain pen and you need a special Felt-tip pen (very affordable). If you want to write on the erased place, you have to use a Ball-pen. 😊

You have to use an ink eraser specifically, not even frixion pens can erase with a regular eraser. I remember this distinctly from primary school, it definitely erases but it leaves a yellow ghost of writing sometimes and it has a foul smell. Didn’t really matter when the whole classroom smelled of it anyway though lol. Not a friction pen though like these comments are suggesting, i believe i used a Lamy ink eraser, just be wary of the smell.

In Germany, I bought a fountain pen from a stationary store, and it came with a special pen that would create to the ink and clear it up.

I think it was said further down, but you have to buy a separate pen (usually very affordable) that erases the ink with a white tip felt looking pen. Then the ink from your pilot pen will no longer cover that area, so you use the blue side of the eraser pen to write over the erased part. I grew up in Germany where writing with fountain pens is required starting at a very young age in school and everyone had one of those eraser pens. Hope that helps!
