  • In part 8, I covered the method of allowing track to pass through a structural backdrop while still facilitating dismantling for shipment. This time, I'll work on the upper main line grade through the canyon scene, while also continuing with backdrops and starting on the fascia.
    Check back each week and watch the project grow.

    Peter, whatever length you make the videos it doesn’t really matter to me I’ll watch whatever you have because it’s all educational for me and it’s all very exciting to watch this n scale build is huge I love it.

    I just realized I wasn't subscribed. I thought I was. I've been watching your channel for the last 2-1/2 years.

      You're not alone. Most of my viewers are not subscribed and most of my subscribers don't view my videos.
      Based on what I've heard from other creators, this is common.

    10-15 minutes is a very adequate length for a construction video. Great Job! 🙂

    I just love these builds, you even include the problems you come across during construction , it’s just fascinating to watch 👍

      Including the problems and their solutions is potentially the most valuable part of my videos for the viewers.

    It still amazes me you have to build with being able to take it down to ship. Learned a lot from your videos, Thanks

    Just to be sure: You go away, mostly inside. I keep sitting and watching until the end, every time 🙂

    That was a great part 9. Glad you had some good luck with the first section of backdrop. I still think this the hardest build you have had.

      Each build has its own complexities, but you may be right.

    No wonder I can never find clamps at the home depot store !!!!!! They are all at your shop

      They're just using that as an excuse. None of my clamps came from Home Depot; they are from Harbor Freight

    Christ, It's going to be a monster. It'll be a heck of a thing to transport won't it? It should look fantastic when completed. I love your workmanship, it's very precise. Great stuff mate.

    • @mpeterll
      @mpeterll  9 місяців тому

      Not too difficult to transport. It was fully dismantled earlier this week in 13 hours. It will be collected by a moving company in a few days from now.

      If you get any photo's of the putting together and the build it would be great to see them. Congratulations on a great job mate.@@mpeterll

    It would be interesting to see a video of the layout of some of your clients who have developed scenarios and run trains

      I already upload all the material that customers send me with permission to share.
      There's nothing I can really do to increase that.

    Definitely a complex design, I would say. Are you going to put any more screws in to help support the glued masonite?
    🤔

    • @mpeterll
      @mpeterll  9 місяців тому

      I only put screws where I can't get a clamp to fit. They all come out once the glue is set.

    Someone bought some clamps.

    • @mpeterll
      @mpeterll  9 місяців тому

      At one point I thought I might have gone overboard on the clamps, but it turns out that I still don't have enough. I'll probably get another 20-30 of the 6" black ratchet clamps and one more pack of spring clamps when I get to that point on the next layout.

    Put all your clamps on a roll cart so they'll be out of way and accessible

    • @mpeterll
      @mpeterll  9 місяців тому

      They are very accessible and out of the way on the wall. A roll cart would always be in the way.

    Now you have got a bigger shop and make bigger layouts you will need a convoy of lorries to move the layout haha 😂

    • @mpeterll
      @mpeterll  9 місяців тому

      The trouble is that we don't have lorries on this side of the Atlantic. The nearest we have here is trucks.
