Very good video and I am glad you clarified some things because I am going to do my language test next month and I said ok when I get back the grade I’ll will do the assessment ECA. Once I have enough money I certainly will rather than waiting.
Hello Kristina. Please I am still not having points under the Canadian Experience class.I started working full time in January 2023 when the law was still allowing us to work 40 hours.I was working as French teacher for a school board and when the law ended I continued as partime while studying .I ended my studies in April 2024 and I am still working there.I have follow your advised and detailed the experience into two but still it does not give me any points.please do you have any idea of where I might be wrong? Thanks again for your time.
@@tchakoutiogerald6662 thanks for watching! Sorry you are having this issue. Just loosely, based on what you said it sounds like you were working while in school. Your program was January to April the following year? Working while in school in Canada will not count towards CEC. You would probably get CEC in April 2025. Just an assumption based on what you have provided, not advice, having your profile assessed will give you a more accurate idea of what’s happening. So though they asked this question, you’ll see where I got 0 points for family because it wasn’t a brother or sister. “Then why do they ask” good question! Well in some Provincial Programs having family members is an asset to being considered, like Alberta for example and more recently Manitoba. So though you don’t get points for having an aunt, if I were in Alberta It would be an asset. And PNP invitations can be issued based on your express entry profile. Additionally, having family can help them assess the ease at which a person is able to settle and integrate… on paper anyway. Hope this helps!
Hello! Thanks for watching! Experience in TEER 0-3 usually requires at least a college education, for trades occupations there are some exceptions. But as long as your education qualifies you for the experience in TEER 0-3 you are using to assess your eligibility.
Hey Kristina, thanks for this very helpful and detailed video. I just have one question - I did 1 + 1 (first one from Sept 2021 to Aug 2022 and second one from Sept 2022 to Aug 2023 ) years of study. Do you know if that's supposed to be entered separately under education or just as one?
@@pranayanair7455 hi there thanks for watching! There isn’t enough information to say. But, Presuming the programs you did are separate fields of study/certifications, I would think separating them is most accurate. But if you want to be sure and confirm, please consult with a consultant or lawyer, or even the IRCC help line, but call before 8am to join the queue! 😉. What’s your CRS score, if I may ask?
Please I need clarity on this. I have 10months of experience with an employer and then just got a new job so the remaining 2 months will be from the second employer. Both jobs are full time and no gaps in between. Is this acceptable as a 12months experience in express entry? As I intend to create a profile immediately I hit 1year
Hello! Thanks for watching. Great question - From the horse’s mouth (IRCC)- www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/canadian-experience-class.html - One year of work experience: This means you worked a total of 30 hours per week for 1 year in the 3 years before you apply. For example: - Full-time at 1 job Thirty hours per week for 12 months is equal to 1 year full-time (1,560 hours). - or Equal amount in part-time work Fifteen hours per week for 24 months is equal to 1 year full time (1,560 hours) You can work as many part-time jobs as you need to meet this requirement. - or Full-time work at more than 1 job Thirty hours per week for 12 months at more than 1 job is equal to 1 year full time (1,560 hours).
This is one of the best videos I have come across on express entry application. Well explained!!!

- One year of work experience:
This means you worked a total of 30 hours per week for 1 year in the 3 years before you apply.
For example:
- Full-time at 1 job
Thirty hours per week for 12 months is equal to 1 year full-time (1,560 hours).
- or Equal amount in part-time work
Fifteen hours per week for 24 months is equal to 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
You can work as many part-time jobs as you need to meet this requirement.
- or Full-time work at more than 1 job
Thirty hours per week for 12 months at more than 1 job is equal to 1 year full time (1,560 hours).
