As someone who moved to Canada aged 49, and now a citizen at 56, it's not impossible for us 'mature' people. I was lucky enough to meet a Canadian in my home country. We got my Canadian PR before we actually landed in Canada, via the the Spousal Sponsorship route. There was literally a mountain of paperwork, proving our relationship was legitimate, plus health tests and process costs. But we got there. Good luck with your personal journey to Canada...it is worth it!

Most manufactures in Canada are having an employee shortage and have turn to immigration programs to fill those spots. They can be a great temporary first job, or a path to get your PR statues.

Thanks for the inside, we are Canadians moving back to Canada. My son was eight when we moved to New Zealand. Now he wants go move to Canada, I'm moving along with him. Not looking forward to winter, since we haven't seen snow for 20 years, but I do remember. We used to live in Windsor Ontario, but don't want to live there again. It isn't the Canadian experience there.

Much milder weather is in areas around Victoria and the Lower Mainland (Vancouver and greater Vancouver). In the Vancouver area most winters there is not much snow. In Victoria even less snow than Vancouver, warmer and sunnier than Vancouver and less rain.
If you are coming from New Zealand, my guess is you will love the areas around Victoria or southern Vancouver Island.
Twice I have visited New Zealand. It's a beautiful country!!! ❤

Very positive and trustworthy video. just a word out there, i am 43 (big family wife & 3 kids), nevertheless, i got my immigration visa approved through the Federal workers express entry. French skills got me selected from the pool which was introduced lately this year by the authorities (maybe you can do video on the new express entry focused selections). About worries and areas of concerns (which is in all countries around the globe), at least the government is doing and ready to do something about it and solve it. looking forward to travel into Canada next April and start building the next steps (the real hard work begins now). Good luck to all

Hello ladies. I am very curious of what exactly is Canadian experience/ work experience?
I have work in various customer services jobs here in America. I also have an IT degree and still face to face with customers daily; as a PC repair and in cellular communications for my current job position.
Due to the political changes about to impose here, this place is no longer the land of the free and I'm in desperate need of a new country to call home. So I really appreciate your content that helps in my endeavor to come to Canada to work, love and live in a safe environment. Thank you for all that you do.

Thank you 🙏 guys for sharing your videos. I have been watching for a while now from Nigeria 🇳🇬 but have now moved to Canada 🇨🇦-in Ottawa capital city. Hmm so far so good 😊. My honest deduction and opinion from all the negativity is do you with the situation on ground. No perfect size and no perfect situation. As for me Canada is my own imperfect paradise..here for the long term even if it’s cold 🥶 and snows 13 months of the year, I will be here😅. Not going anywhere again except for a visit.

So what I’m worried about is because I don’t have a college degree. I’ve just been working in the same field of customer service but I make decent amount of money doing it if I come to Canada will be the same or what I’ll take and pay customer service call center, never have a opportunity to earn a degree because of my challenges that I have had to fix that caused me not to get a degree so I worry about the job market and if I learn a job, will it be a good one and can I retire with it , cost-of-living somebody with customer service struggle what are the cheapest cities to live in with someone in my situation that don’t make that high income

To the American IT worker looking to move to Canada, be aware that IT pay outside of the US is much lower, and especially so in Canada. Expect to take a paycut of 30% to 50%.

If you’re planning to qualify for the country’s pension, you’d have to have lived in the country for at least 10 years priori, worked here and made contributions to the pension plan. Depending on your financial situation, you probably want to make sure you have affordable health coverage where you retire, for that, you’d have to get Canadian residency. You can learn about different immigration pathways and whether they apply to you on Canada.ca

What do you think about the chances of getting a visa through express entry if you score high? With my current calculations I would get in the mid 500's. From what I've read this is quite high. But does that make the chance big getting through or will it still be quite difficult?

    • @MakeThatChange

do yo know which neighbourhoods has high crime and drug use? And is the neighbouring areas around the high crime area affected? For example Jane & Finch area I heard from real estate agents is a high crime area, so does it make it unsafe to live at the surrounding neighbourhoods - Downsview, Yorkdale, Rexdale, Humber summit.. and etc.

Retired builder here. For trades I suggest you focus on any trade/skill you have and look for large companies in Canada advertising jobs as many of them can help get you here.
If willing to work in very remote locations (large work camps) you can make extremely good money with all living expenses paid. Northern British Columbia and the oil sands in Alberta are good examples.

Employers aren’t willing to lower their standards to hire every random person who wants a job. They still want to make sure they bring on reliable, hardworking, and skilled workers. We keep hearing stories from employers that many people are being very demanding of employers, while having very little to offer as employees.

Ladies, thanks for the good job. But, as a mature skilled worked has been working in many countries, knowing that unfortunately one of those countries was much better than Canada. However, I got the impression that really you don’t have enough idea about what’s going on in the western Canada. I’m serious! Many materials that you’ve already picked up are missing or let’s say not accurate. It’s just not applicable to western Canada! I’ve been in Toronto, so many other cities around Ontario. As well I know many things about the east of Canada, because I got many friends. I want just to make it easy and simple; as every immigrant else I don’t see the presence of the federal government in the west. It’s just a complete absence. So, I’ll let you just think about it …

Yes, i agree that many videos are set out to paint Canada in a negative picture. Even the political campaigns of conservatives, even though trying to get at the liberals paint a negative picture on the global front. Post COVID the whole world is undergoing a recession and i hope people factor that also in when making complaints about Canada or any other first world country. At the end of the day we actually cannot come to a conclusion based on negative videos. Best is to experience it yourself and try the country. For sure some will love it and some will hate as that is the nature of humans.; one hat doesn't fit all.
