Having lost a brother to suicide, my Dad to a broken heart, and a husband to cancer I know the pain of loss. But praise God for His love,strength, grace and constant presence. He has carried my when I couldn't stand, I'm lucky because I always feel Him near me. That is how we survive so we can help others when they have similar problems.
I lost my youngest aon of 23 yrs God blessed of holding my nany boy head in my head as he took his last breaths on this earth. But the trauma and lost of my love is very very painful and lost my marriage theough divorce right of 30 yrs bc my hisband wanted to marry his pregant mistress. I long to be in my fathers present.

😥I'm so sorry to have read that and can't imagine how you found the strength to take all that pain. How are you now? It's not exactly something you can recover from really, as it'd always be with you. I too lost my Dad to suicide when I was 27 and it still hurts as he was my best friend, but one thing I can see, the pain fades that's about it, but it still hurts a lot. Have the Lord with me I can definitely say I do feel better, but Dad was an atheist, so......that's pretty awful. I miss him terribly and I can only imagine so many hurts on many fronts for you. Besides being a brilliant movie with a great cast, it also helped me and my husband deal with the death of our two children. I love where he said in the end: My healing started when I stopped asking God why I lost my family and started thanking Him for my life.

Yes, I as well as many agree that this is a very well made movie. Regarding other Faith Based movies that do not have the $ to hire experienced actors, well, taking a chance on the one's that will star in a low budget movie with a decent script is a step in the right direction. What matters is the message & the rest shall fall in place, giving those perhaps not so yet seasoned Christian Actors added experience & opportunity to improve & grow. This film just grew into a mini masterpiece. The acting was superb, storyline kept you on yr edge. The actors were all good, especially the old timers, they brought value into the acting, and their experience. Wasn't expecting the ending.

It's because it's such a tough & sensitive topic. Most people would rather feel good & upbeat after a movie. This kind of movie does better as a DVD rental at home, where people are more comfortable facing such tense emotions.
Because It mentions God... Thia is why. Sadly so.
I too lost alot of loved ones and what the good lawyer said in the end really resonated with me.....all so true....for just thanking God 🙏❤️ being alive for a reason....that's all the healing right there...😊😊❤❤
I found this a good story. You'll need to turn the volume up considerably and plug your ears when the episodic commercial interruptions occur, as it will unnecessarily blast you from your seat.

Great script. The trial was about justice without so much dramatic distraction. Loved the words and the clear ideas of the defense in both the intro and the final summation. Well written, well acted. Thank you. I Liked the ending, too, when there's no where else to go.

Excellent movie. Loved seeing a "happy" ending when there is at least one searching for the Truth above all else. Too many become obsessed with being right instead of fighting for what is right. Of course not all searches for the truth end as such, but it does light that spark of hope.

Excellent movie. Good plot; compelling courtroom scenes; superb acting.
Great movie. Scary how an aggressive prosecutor can get a conviction and even scarier how a jury can convict when there is clearly reasonable doubt.
That's because the matter of guilt or innocence is not the only concern of the prosecutor. As a lawyer he keeps a win/loss record of all his cases, just like defense attorneys, which determines his future in the legal trade.
Its even more scary how prosecutors have behaved in real life getting a death conviction even when they know the person in innocent thats the stuff of nightmares
SPOILER ALERT
Does the prosecutor have more control over a jurist's vote than the jurist himself? Each jurist is accountable for his vote. If he releases a malefactor he'll have to face that accusation on his day of judgement.
Likewise if he convicts someone who ought to have been forgiven. Always get in the habit of receiving instructions from The Heavenly Father, and not relying on your own understanding. That is one of the commandments of The Heavenly Father through his servant King Solomon.

Good movie. Touched on a lot of important thoughts without shallow moralism, juxtaposed with the ploy of discrediting people and shame. Decent mystery story as well. (avoiding a spoiler) The point about what was interrupted was handled so gently, yet with adequate meaning.
I appreciated the last point, right on the heels of a conversation this evening about some recent, truly tragic losses of people I know.

What a redeeming movie! A multi-layered, complex psychological movie involving the heart-wrenching, tangible pain of one man, Mac McClaine (played by Matthew Modine) after losing his family in an auto accident of some kind, and on the same page, that man coming to terms with his loss through his professional involvement as a criminal defence attorney, in a difficult case requiring the commitment to the process of law - replete with painstaking investigation - addressing his client's future, as well as his own through the legal experience, a case assigned to him by Judge Danielson (played by Rance Howard). The whole movie shows the observer how one man learns to heal, and yet, during that healing process, tries saving the life of another man conveniently used as a scapegoat in a murder plot involving embezzlement by some very professional men, who would never be suspected of such activities. A most engaging and thrilling movie highlighting some very reliable & tested Christian values. This one's "for the books" and for all the good reasons.

This was a hopeless sceario riveted with hope and then victory- thanjk you .
This movie is at the quality level of a made-for-TV movie back when networks put a lot into them and made them the movie of the week. MUCH better than so many made-for-TV movies since that time (think Lifetime movies, etc). I agree the Christianity was there, but it wasn't the main point of the move. This was a good courtroom drama. Very good acting, filming, and so key ... good editing.
A powerful testimony of the value of life.
That was a quiet, but good and suspenseful drama. Held my attention from beginning. Well worth the watch. Like to see more of all the actors.

It’s my brothers birthday today, he’s been gone for forty one years now, the pain and loss NEVER goes away. Regardless of the length of time that goes by………….

I do understand your pain, sadly, I know only too well what that kind of pain feels like. As a 5 and 6-year-old kid, I was abused every day, five days a week for two years. During this time, I fell in love with a girl at the same primary school. Later when we were both 16 after I had finished talking to her and had hung up the phone, I instinctively knew she was going to die, NO ONE, including her, knew she had in her brain a ticking time bomb. She died three days later from a brain aneurism. During those three days, I tried, without success to buy her the book titled, Love Story, in the book, the girl dies, I think buying her the book would have been my way of telling her what was going to happen.
Both the physiological abuse and Julie's death COMPLETELY CRUSHED me. I have LOST EVERYTHING I ever had, and that was a WHOLE LOT to lose.
Despite taking an ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE OD in 2018, I have to attempt to end my selfish existence this year. So loss, yeh, I know all about loss.

Mr. MacFarland is priceless! He, alone, is worth the watch. But, it's a good story and much needed in these cynical times.

A truly excellent film. It doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. It is a representative of how the Christian life is often one of grief and suffering in one way or another just as our Lord was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief and yet for the Christian that is not the end for surely we have a great hope in Christ and He is our strength through the fiery trials as well as our great inheritance for all eternity.
You know it broke my heart to see so many focused on how good the acting was, How good the quality of the filming was on such a low budget How they weren’t bored how they enjoyed the script it wasn’t the usual corny Christian film that really bothered me because it’s like they’re missing the point of the film but thank you and praise God that somebody got something out of it , what it truly was and what it was meant for God bless you.
@@yahwehsdaughterromans1164 I understand. Don't be surprised though when you see so many haven't quite seen it in the way it was meant. Growing in grace doesn't happen over night. It takes time, sometimes years. We are as God's people all being sanctified daily though. He will complete the work He has begun in us until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6.

Why not be content with many appreciating the good overall in this movie, including Padre God's message for those of us that clearly felt it via the Holy Spirit. Please don't allow the enemy to steal your joy. This movie has ALOT of good & the great part for many of us is the "HOPE" borne into the character, the Attorney believing in what he's doing & the Holy Spirit using another to help him appreciative his life. See the beauty in that now? That my dear, is Yeshua at work in every part in one's life, even through a movie. 🙏
