This was one of my favorite CD's EVER. Storyville is a very UNDERATED, UNRECOGNIZED band...Malford has one of the most unique voices ever and I never get tired of hearing him sing. The fact he had DT backing him, EPIC. I saw them in Greenville SC, this sort of looks like the group, but what a heck of a show. Got to meet them all afterwards, such nice, down to earth folks
As a recent newcomer to all things Dave Grissom I am working my way through all the versions of this- his playing is varied and carries a swing and swagger that is all his own- fabulous!
Such a BIG sound. My vote for best Austin band EVER! The Malford/Grissom connection evolves from the spirit world where Jimi resides. Love, power, spirit! David Holt is solid perfection in the background and is the heartbeat of their sound. Not just another Stevie tribute band - this is a band that has no peers. ORIGINAL ORIGINAL ORIGINAL No higher tribute, in my humble opinion. They give me cold chills.
when Malford comes out with that great B.I.G voice & the band kicks in, that's the closest any humans ever got to producing thunder & lightening- wow!!
Malford always kills me. The first thing I saw him was in the Saxon pub and he was just doing a gig with Yogi and some other guys and it was a pick up thing and they were winging it. I was dumbfounded it hot what a good singer he was. He still Liz.
Beautiful blues music, great blues singer!! This guy should have been very famous and very rich with a voice and emotions like he projects!! If you don’t get sad listening to him, there is something wrong with you!!
I was at this show, it was late 90’s, maybe 98. Me and my friend were sitting in the “sound booth” I guess you call it, above and behind the stage, right above the Antones sign. My friend he said he was with some bullshit production company, even had business cards printed. It was bullshit but it got us VIP! 😜
sounds like regular Austin shit! Should know, grew up there, listening to watching the Thunderbirds, Angela Strelei, Lewis and the Legends, Carl, Omar, Triple Threat w/Ms LuAnn, Sarah on bass, Oh yeah, Clifford's Birthday Parties! And too many more to mentioned here! Those were heady times!
IMChrysalis They’re the ashes of SRV’s Double Trouble. They were Arc Angles first, then Storyville. Some different singers & guitarists, but the rhythm section is Double Trouble in both bands...
@@therosentodds1376 never heard of any of those bands...🤔 I spent most of my teen years living in a beautiful, narrow mountain valley: we had two radio stations, and three channels on TV... LOL
I got to see them there when I was a kid I seen them so many different places back home what a great blues band

To your point of Stevie tribute. Double Trouble are 2 of the band members.
Love these guys old school love it
A great band, with great players all around. With a truly soulful singer.
Grew up watching these guys all over Austin, TX in the 90s. Goodtimes in a great city.
I was lucky enough to see them open for BB King in Detroit. I went out the next day and bought Dog Years - been a fan ever since!
I miss this band SOOO much!!
I hate you Chris Clarke 😔
@@jameseanes5632 wow what did I do to you, did I contact you out of the blue to bully you?
@@chrisclarke9668 I’m joking 😎. I would’ve have given an arm to have been living in Austin when Storyville was lighting it up. I’m jealous.

However.....A band with two lead players and a first rate singer, You get Storyville!
Plus Stevie Ray's rhythm section.
Grissom Goodness!!
I never get tired of DG playing this intro….🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
ditto
This is the best version of this on youtube. Great singer. In my opinion of course.
Malford Milligan
Love me some Malford Milligan!

HAH! It was probably my ex -husband! Did he look like Bob Seger did in the late 70's?
Great story Must have been super fun

Great stuff. Great vocals Milford!
Malford Milligan
@@johnbryant4 thank you. I know it’s Malford. My autocorrect changed it and I didn’t notice. Apologies to all, especially Malford.
When You Do You Sound Good.
Keep coming back.....fo mo...... !

amazing
Tone for days
Eric Johnson but with soul!
what a great song, who can help me with the lyrics? ...thx and Greetings from Germany
I think it's a David Grissom composition.
So amazing cheeeers 🌹🇨🇦😎
Yo
Thumbs down? Seriously?
What tuning is he using??
B or G
Michael Beatty Thank you!!!!
Michael Beatty He has that SRV sound
Really?
Where is Austin?
Heaven.
Is the rent high there?
Austin, my friend, is the capital of the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS
@@billhughes869 Rent's a bit higher than the national average but the real challenge is the occupancy rate is well over 90% year round.
Austin is the liberal burr in the ass of Texas. All the rest of Texas is more forthright and true than Austin. But the music is great.
Great tune, but Chris Layton always looks bored. Of course I guess after SRV..
