I have the 2024 Camry LE. I have now clock in 5,700 miles. I’ve taken my Camry from Vegas to Oregon and back to Vegas. I can tell you right now that the 4 cylinder has pretty good power going up hills even with thin air altitude. 203Hp is the same power as the old V8’s
I have a 2018. First year released. I drive a 💩 Ton and am at 106,500 miles and all I’ve had issues with was a defective Air compressor that was replaced at around 80k miles. I blame it on it being SUCH a new release. At times getting a same year release has small defects. Other than that it’s running like it did at 30k miles. Insane and the reason I’m a Toyota fan!
Another good review, Ben! I bought a certified Lexus ES350 for less than this Camry and they gave me a 100K mile warranty and maintenance plan for an out the door price of this Camry. The Camry is a nice car, but give me the 3.5L V6 and added luxury of the ES350. For longevity, you can't really go wrong with either. My dad drove a 2005 Camry almost 500k miles and the only thing that ever failed was the alternator which lasted around 200k miles each time. I have family and friends with the 3.5L V6 drivetrain with 150-200k miles on the clock with zero issues as well.
I bought a 2020 Camry LE back in January and I'm enjoying what I have so far. Coming from a 2016 Chevy Equinox (crashed it last year), it's a big improvement over what I had. I like the responsiveness, the peppy 2.5L 4 cylinder engine it has and how comfortable it is to drive. I certainly don't regret my purchase.
You never drove it in sport mode, that makes a big difference, way more torque in sport mode. And the fuel economy is way better than rated, I get in high 40's and low 50's on the highway and high 30's around town consistently. That engine actually beat their hybrid by 1 mpg in Toyota's own testing.
That 4 cylinder is probably going to save you some good money. Lower gas and maintenence if you own it for 10 years+. The V6 might be more fun, but will you *need* that HP?
4-bangers accelerate slow, merging with Highway traffic and passing other vehicles is never that good. The 4 banger is very good on gas, but depends upon how much driving and the miles you use your vehicle for. The 4 banger is usually much cheaper which also depends on the trim level and other stuff. The 2024 Camry XSE 2.5L FWD for $37K is a joke because it missing Driver's Assist package and not AWD. Glad it's not a troublesome Hybrid which is a hard pass and look for something better. I own a 2023 Camry XSE V6 fully loaded with all 3 main packages.
I’ve also heard speculation that the 6 cyl is harder on the transmission, which powers both engines. The transmission will probably won’t last as long in a V6 (I believe it was Scotty Kilmer who said it).
@@richscott2483LOL….you’re adorable 🙄. I travel often for business and have rented plenty’s of 4 banger Camry’s via airport rental companies. The 4 cylinder Camry get’s great gas mileage and has good power and acceleration for everyday driving and commuting. If you’ve experienced problems trying to merge into oncoming traffic on the interstate and highway…..the problem isn’t the car. Fact.
99% of daily driving doesn't need a 0 to 60, 2.5 second power plant. For some reason extreme speed is what marketing pushes on the customer, when most want comfort, safety, and good mpgs.
I wanted that SXE V6 that was sitting in the showroom. But I opted for the XLE 4cyl because I decided I needed the AWD option for these Wisconsin winters. The only time I regret not having the V6 is when I'm getting on the freeway. The 4cyl accelerates fine, but it bothers me that I have to make it work to get up to speed. As for cruising at 70-75 mph and city driving, the 4cyl is plenty sufficient. As far as the reviewed car goes, I don't understand the point of putting a 4cyl engine into an SE or XSE. There's nothing sporty about a self-aspirated four banger.
Torque converter automatic is the reason to get the Camry over the Corolla alone. I hate CVT’s, they drone and don’t even sound natural to me. I want to hear my car shift gears when I accelerate!!!!!!
I rented the current 4-cylinder Camry for a week and took it on a road trip. I thought it was a good car all around. Decent acceleration, amazing fuel economy (I got high 30’s) even in the non hybrid model, roomy and comfortable. However, I think a well optioned SE or even a fully optioned LE is a better value than a 4-cylinder XSE.
Great car. Wrong size wheels. The 19 inch wheels can’t handle the highway / interstate roads where we live causing the wheels to have dents in them which left a vibration in the car. So I changed the 19 inch wheels on our 2019 Toyota XSE Camry to 18 inch wheels with new tires. All Toyota Camry should come with 18 inch wheels with 235/45R18 tires.
You are absolutely right, we have an XSE with the 19's and an SE with the 18's. The XSE is in the tire shop constantly. Had an older model before with the 19's had to replace 2 wheels over time. Toyota should do away with the 19's.
My buddy was talking shit about how little power the camrys have mind you he works from home and when he goes out he only drives 10-20mins away randomly to the grocery store never over 50mph!!! 😂😂😂😂
2024 Camry XSE 2.5-liter 8-Speed Auto FWD, add White Chill as Special Color $425, Navigation pkg offers the JBL sound $1,750, Panoramic Roof is $1,360, add a few other accessories, Destination fee $1,095 grand total $37,187. It has 17 miles driven on it and been taken for test drives off the lot, it is no longer New (subtract $2k, in reality the Camry depreciated $5,000 once you drove off the lot if it had 0 to 4 miles on it ). The Camry does not have a full tank of fuel/gas and not having the Driver's Assist package sort of hurts the value. Does not have All-Wheel-Drive. I'd offer OTD "Out-the-Door" for $33,100. Some things that Dealerships should never do is allow "Test Drive the Current Year Model" should of had a 2023 or 2022 Camry XSE or test drive the worst Camry trim which is LE. Good news is a guy from Texas drove his 2019 SE FWD just over 300,000 miles. Unfortunately had to replace the transmission, the front wheel bearings, the alternator, belt, went through maybe 6 set of tires, many oil changes, and routine maintenance. But 300,000 miles is a lot in about 5 years time.

No, the base LE Camry 2.4l engine is lacking of decent power. Although it is a good vehicle. It is not enough power for me. I've owned Camry's all of my driving life (3+ decades), and the Camry v6 3.5l engine is the best. Yet, in 2025, Toyota, decided to drop this version of the Camry, making them hybrids. In my view they are making a mistake. I currently drive the 2013, Camry, v6 3.5l engine. I purchased this used in 2016, with 36,000 miles on it back then. At the time, it had one owner who kept excellent records. So, I purchased it, and now the odometer reads 147,700+ miles on it. I have. 2020 Camry hybrid it has a four cylinder and it has way too much power. Never use more than maybe 25% gas in the city and probably about 40-50% merging on the highway.

The 2023 Camry XSE V6 MSRP was $41,305. I don't know why people give up on negotiating a fair price. Never pay MSRP or any markups, and never ever Trade-In a vehicle unless willing to take a loss, Trade-In is like going to a Pawn Shop accepting 40 to 20 percent of its worth. Why would you want to give money away? Sell your old vehicle Privately, no trade-in. Another thing, never say you are going to Pay In Cash, and only talk and sit down with the Finance Manager last after you have Negotiated the price and have it on the Purchase Agreement. If you want Toyota Care VSA, a 10-year/125,000 miles with $0 Deductible can be had for as little as $1,760 (Camry only), it is just a matter of calling several Toyota Dealerships throughout the USA and getting Quotes, you take the best one and use your Credit Card to pay for the VSA. Your Toyota VSA is good at all Authorized Toyota Service Centers. Other Toyota vehicles/ models that cost more typically have higher VSA costs.
