MUY buena calidad, el texto imagenes. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO Un manuel muy completo y trabajado. Resulta muy práctico. Para principiantes y profesionales. Lo recomiendo
I did this (using screws instead of nails) and the lumber alone cost $100. Still affordable compared to buying the island itself, but just for anyone looking to build this today... it’s not $20!
This is so easy n I can even make a coffee table and rustic end tables like this with shorter legs n even a smaller table and make bar chairs with thick seats from an old bed mattress that has very thick sift foam in it. Thank you so easy I gave a set of drills and a picket jig. This us what I'll do and I can make it by myself. I lost all my furniture. You just made my day. I'm starting over and I don't have alot so I gotta do budget friendly fast n easy builds. I can use this in NY small living room fur a small table to sit at by the window when mom or the kids come over for coffee. I can build an island to separate the kitchen n make all 3 rustic . I love this You just made me so happy I was feeling so bad. 😊 u rock
Oh wow, thank you so much for the kind words! We already have a coffee table DIY in this style ready to go for you: ua-cam.com/video/Y6edBFj3CnY/v-deo.html Good luck with the transition and builds!
I have made so many protects from your vids. Even just hearing the music makes me smile. Thanks so much for all of the videos you guys make. Really makes woodworking fun
Hi my name is Alice and the island is beautiful and easy.I just told my sister last week that I am going to build me a small island for my small tiny kitchen.,Thank you so much for the inspiration....
You guys make great simple to understand videos. That’s the point. People that are critical don’t get it, yeah you may have to adapt your project some but you guys show the project step by step. Thank you
I just finished making this table and love it! I used untreated red pine 4x4s for the legs instead. I also used screws instead of nails in case I needed to take off the legs for some reason in the future. It turned out really beautiful. Definitely not $20 tho - more like 60-70. Thanks for the fun project!
Exactly! I was thinking of doing the same. I just appreciate this guys layout and plan. If you want a sturdier table, just do what you did. Better material
I love this - I can easily modify this to be a DIY outdoor dining table (it’s just need to be longer) but looks wise and color wise it’s essentially the design I need and most importantly it’s simplistic. Love this.
Ok. The price of materials is not this low, that aside, I love this UA-cam channel. I recently started building furniture with wood and this channel has inspired many projects. This rustic kitchen island is my latest creation!! Thank you!
I just made this. My first wood project. I needed a quick tv stand. I used all pine and I added a 4th 1 x 4 on the bottom and 4 across to make a bottom shelf. It looks pretty good! Thanks
Thank you very much for sharing your idea. I just built ours and I am VERY happy with the outcome. Had my doubts about the the nails instead of using screws but the nails work just fine. It's a very sturdy island. Fast, simple, easy, rustic - hubby and I love it! Thanks again!
+Elke McCauley Glad it turned out so well for you! Screws are definitely an option as well, especially with the legs, we just try to make the plans as basic as possible. Thanks for your feedback and enjoy!
First and foremost, I want to let you know that I love your videos, particularly with the breakdown of what materials are needed. I have made both the headboard and this island. Although this states it is $20 in materials, I paid $60 at my local lumber store. I would highly suggest using screws for the entire project, not nails (especially for the 4x4 legs). I haven't stained it yet as the only 4x4's available to me were "treated", so they will have to dry before I can sand and stain. I love the tutorials and the projects you come up with. Simple and easy to follow for "beginners" working with wood. Obviously professional woodworkers would cringe about nails being used.I would suggest not including a "cost" with your projects because unless you're getting the lumber for free, the prices vary all over the US and outside and will typically cost the average person double (if not more) to make these items. Thanks again!
Good basic table that I think any beginner can do, even me! As someone goes along and their woodworking skills increase, adjustments can be made. But for me, this is a good starting point. Thanks!
Thanks, I did this project and wanted to have a high table for my garage. Total cost was about $85. I also added in 4 wheels on the legs which did cost me an additional 20 bucks. While attached the legs to the frame, i figured that 2.5" screws worked better
OMG This looks too easy to be real.....I'm gonna try this on a bit smaller scale to make a desk for my home office! I cannot wait! Thanks for the measurements and for listing everything and showing it all step by step.........
Soapzies on a smaller scale I bet you can use 2×4s for the legs and get away from the pressure treated 4×4 he used that everyone is saying not to use in house. sounds great love to see how it turns out
Thanks for the video! I was shocked to see the piece put together without screws and wood glue and more shocked at the pressure treated 4x4's. But it's a great piece for me to make a couple for my craft room and put them on wheels. Along with an additional shelf, I can adjust the build with regular 4x4's and add the glue and screws. Thanks for the ideas!
great job im doing this project however the 4x4 were pressure treated for sure (green tint) so i will be gluing (2) 2x4's together which is cheaper than a 4x4 anyways.
I'm SO glad i came across this video. Thanks for sharing with us! The apartment I'm moving to doesn't have an island and I realllllly want one because I love them. I just didn't want to spend too much money on it. This DIY is amazing
I built one of these many many years ago in my younger years when I had a house with the room to do things like this. Wish I still had mine. Great video😊
Absolutely beautiful...I'm about to be house poor and have chosen to make my own furniture, you guys have given me hope that it can happen...the music was great too❤
The Rehab Life Thank you😊 I'll just keep studying your video, the house I s over 50yrs old, and will be delivered in September, it's a total gut job and I'm a single mother, ugh...so maybe in a year I'll be putting my my videos and notes to the test, I'll definitely keep you posted... I'd love to make my own sectional couch, without cutting cost corners, is that possible? Thank again😁
It turned out very nice! Kudos! One suggestion to you and anyone attempting to build this, use wood glue. The table will be 10x more durable and thus last that much longer. Just some friendly advice. :)
Thank you so much for doing this DYI kitchen island I need this I'm a person of disability due to me having cancer twice in my life and I want to try this project I hope that I can get someone to help me I appreciate you uploading this video
is clear to see that the two of you have similar style of building. nice to see the cohesion. is a great looking table. the only thing for me, like so many others, is those legs. seal them real good and i'd add a bit more support in the connection to the top. nails wiggle loose over time so maybe a few screws. loved the video so keep them coming. thanks :D
I'm looking to build an inexpensive desk to use while teleworking. I will do this one but make the legs shorter down to 29-30 and account for the top thickness. I like the pipe table but it's a little costly for the short time I need it. Thank you!
Great video guys. I didn't know that you could not use pressure-treated wood indoors. Thank you for the commenters on making that known. Great build I would try in the future.
Thanks so much for this. I built it pub table height and am looking for appropriate-sized stools. Used sturdy deck screws too rather than nails. Stained it "Sedona Red" and placed it against a wall painted "Hey Honey," with three paintings of cardinals above it. The range of reds and honey-colored wall look so great together and the table is a great height where I can stand and eat or pull up a stool and work/eat/drink a beer with bros. Not $50, by any means, but not a bank-buster either.
I came across your channel, I was so impressed with this video, and I recently moved. I bought a kitchen table/chairs, but the table is too big for my place, I couldn't get it through the front door. When I saw this video, and I watched it about 5 times ( I said to myself, l can do it) yesterday on my way home I stopped at Home Depot , they have assortment of wood marked down to 70% , since I have a smaller kitchen my project will be a little smaller by 2 feet. I got all the wood for $20 ( they will cut the wood for free) nails were $3ish, they have nails with wood glue on the end. I will take a before/after picture. I have to go back and pickup stain stuff to painted it or I might use chalk paint, I have some left over from another project, I also have x-fine sandpaper.
You should always wear a mask when cutting treated pine and definitely never cut it indoors! The timber treatment is also the reason the legs went almost black when you were staining it.
Well, I finally got over my hesitation and ordered my first compound mitre saw! I have watched this video and most of your others and I can't wait to get started on this project. I am so excited. I have so many of your projects I want to do now that I have seen your videos. I like the way you show step by step how it's done and these seem to be sooo easy. I have a request though! Could you do a video making a workstation/workbench? I'm going to need a place to work on my projects and to store some of my tools!! Keep up the great work and keep the videos coming! This newbie needs the help!
Looks really cool, but I agree with the wood glue comment. Those little nails will not last long. Plus some poly on top will extend the life, make it much easier to clean, and be more sanitary. Also just friendly advice ;-)
Well designed projects for young people on a budget. Even your typography is well designed. Cool music and you look like a nice couple - well done both, for all your videos.
I use 2 inch trim head fasteners. You can use wood filler to hide the holes and they wont split the wood. They make the frame allot stronger then finishing nails
Thanks for the video. This can actually cost $20 given you have the basic supplies on hand or go to Restore if you have one in the video. Lumber can be free or cheap. I dumpster dive at Home Depot and construction sites, or my husband would bring home “damaged” goods from a company he works at that would be thrown out (i.e. wood cut slightly too short)
STILL CHEAPER THAN THE 300 TO 1000 DOLLARS THEY COST IN STORES AND LOOKS NICE, THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO SHOW PPL HOW EVEN THOUGHYOU ARENT RICH YOU CAN HAVE A PRODUCT THAT LOOKS JUST AS GOOD.
I love this! I'm going to build it with some slight additions. I'm adding half a shelf to place baskets/drawers for extra storage and a kitchen rack with S hooks to hang pots and pans. A question though....the 4x1s on the bottom look like they are about 8" from the ground, if you were to put them higher, I'm thinking like 16"-20" off the ground, would that mess with the stability of the island?
I am going to try this. My husband said it's not a good idea because I don't normally build things. I can however, follow directions and can run a saw, so I'm going to attempt it. Except I think I'll use screws because I'm afraid of denting the wood with my clumsy hammering. Wish me luck!
Good idea. Please note that pressure treated lumber should not be used indoors due to the chemicals induced. Much better looking is regular 4x4 cedar post. And much lighter.
I was seconds from buying an island for $600. I literally took a screenshot @2:33 so I can take it to the store and have them cut the wood for me. Can't wait to put this together. I saw a comment about needing to use wood glue and avoiding nails and untreated wood. So I plan to use everyone's input. Thank u🤗
That is 1 Awesome piece u made. 2 think my husband bought me 1 from a furniture store 4 $250/2 stools☹😀. Great job, we will make this one bcuz I want another😀😀👍👍.
Thank you for this! I have been looking for ways to get counter space in my small kitchen and this would be perfect. I'd love an island but the kitchen would be crowded. This is perfect!! Thank you for sharing!
I agree with others saying those are pressure treated 4x4's. don't use those for a table because they warp and shrink. they're fine outdoors for deck or lawn furniture but inside it'll be weird. untreated are more expensive but well worth the price difference for indoor furniture.
Not gonna be too critical because cost was the main idea. Fyi to commenters, he states in 1st comment how he got wood so cheap not sure if everyone would get that lucky. Only suggestion I would follow with is possibly screws, pocket screws maybe. If someone was leaning on it putting lateral pressure nails would most certainly begin to pry out and possible collapse of island.
I would have recommended using a good wood glue in addition to the nails. A kitchen island gets a lot of use, and can work itself loose. I would have chosen screws over nails as well.
@James Smith I work in the Lumber department at home depot. I'm allergic to pressure treated lumber, but I have to handle it anyway so I know exactly what it looks it. Here in the Midwest it's green, I hear it's brown in other parts of the country.
I am starting the process of making a kitchen island but want to add a stainless steel top and drawers. Can you make a video showing the process of adding drawers with actual hardware
I Like all of your projects a lot, standard lumber, no ripping of boards, and almost no expensive tools required. Do you have any reservations about using treated lumber indoors? I would probably use cedar or untreated Douglass Fir or Hemlock if available When treated lumber is used I would cut and sand it outside while wearing a dust mask. The "brown" treated is supposed to be less toxic than the older "green" treated, but......
I live in Canada. I've revised these plans to make a much smaller island - 24" wide x 16" deep, using 2" x 2" legs. Including screws and finishing nails, it will cost me $44.01. Plus, I plan to put no lock swivel casters on the legs, so that will cost $11.56. Adding the stain, that will cost $12.25. I plan to just stain the top and paint the rest white. A 946 ml can of white paint costs $22.99. So I'll be spending $104.43 CDN taxes in, for lumber, paint, stain, nails, screws and wheels. Without the paint and wheels, it would still cost me $64.69 taxes in.
Thanks for the DIY video. I'm going to build this easy to construct island. However, there are three things I will do to modify your design. (1) replace nails for wood screws, (2) add casters [I have a need for mobility], and (3) add a single shelf at the base -- maybe, maybe not. That might mean more space for clutter, in my case ... 😄😄😄.
I built your kitchen island and it is the highlight iny kitchen 😆. Thank you so much for the awesome video. Do you have a video on chairs that will fit the kitchen island?
Ikr... I was seconds from buying one for $600. Now I think Im going to try my hand at making this one... Even if it cost me $200 to make, it's still better than buying it.
I like this and I am going to try something similar. I appreciate the inspiration. Just a question: why not wood screws? I have better luck with them than nails. Also, I like idea of wood glue as mentioned in other comments.
I like the stuff you 2 build the only things I do differently when I copy your builds is use pocket holes and carriage bolts and non treated lumber and I know how hard it can be to find untreated 4x4s that are not rough cut
I'm a hobby diyer I like the look of this but think it could be so much better. also the 4x4 on the legs looks to be pressure treated and I would suggest that you don't use pressure treated wood in the house.
why, what's wrong with treated wood, what kind of wood should be used?just asking because I want to build it.would like a response so I can do it right.tnxs
Jose Ontiveros Pressure-treated wood has all manner of chemicals intended to kill things. When used indoors it may eventually off-gas and cause health problems. Most normal woods are fine for indoor use if they're properly sealed. Mineral oil is even food-safe and is used on cutting boards and wooden vessels. Pine, maple, poplar, and oak are all fine to make kitchen things with.
Pressure treated wood is made for outdoor use prevents bug attacks and rot etc. It's not good for indoors as explained. Its why the wood is yellow or green in colour. Also it will be wetter and in a house will continue to dry out and warp and split. You can buy untreated 4 x 4 at most diy places. Or look online etc. You could even look at reclaimed wood for added real rustic charm. If your going to do it you should cut your wood down to rough size and store in the house under your bed or sofa etc for a few weeks then start making it but your better off looking for other plans as this is really poorly executed. It won't last long.
The projects are GREAT regardless if the cost is more than what's posted. It's still low in price to build and the satisfaction of building it yourself has no price. I'm sure we'll find ways to cut the costs by sharing ideas and through experience. GREAT project! Thanks.
Also, they used finished nails because it looks better then screws-hence the name- finish nails . If you use screws it will look terrible- unless you counter sink them and fill with wood filler.
love the simplicity and the looks, only thing i would have done differently is add a small amount of wood glue to all the joints to help the nails stay secure more. Again, nice work indeed.

It probably was 6 years ago when it was made
You can buy discounted lumber from box stores and it can be cheap.
Lumber went up in the last 8 yrs n what kinda wood did ya buy of course it probably did. 😂 I did it n it cost me less than 100 for the whole bed. 😊
It's mind blowing that a decade ago it only cost $15-30 to make this with new store bought lumber.
This is so easy n I can even make a coffee table and rustic end tables like this with shorter legs n even a smaller table and make bar chairs with thick seats from an old bed mattress that has very thick sift foam in it. @madmiles - that is a good tip!
also treated lumber isnt to be used inside and definitely not in the kitchen.
Came to the comments to say just this.
I was wondering about this
should that be in addition to the nails or instead of?
Thank you so much for doing this DYI kitchen island I need this I'm a person of disability due to me having cancer twice in my life and I want to try this project I hope that I can get someone to help me I appreciate you uploading this video

Amazing! Guys, if you find wood expensive, you can ask for throwaway piles or use 2x2s instead of 2x4s

+The Rehab Life Omgosh really. ok thx. I'll look out for it.
+The Rehab Life I'm going to steal your table idea.
Keep brining more you guys are the best everything is very well layout and it's very much easier once you've proper sizing and cuts
Y'all are amazing thank u so much for doing this video I can t wait. I'll be doing it my self as a woman. AND I GOT THIS!!!! ❤️❤️😂
You DEFINITELY got this!
Great video guys. I didn't know that you could not use pressure-treated wood indoors. Thank you for the commenters on making that known. Great build I would try in the future.

You're not talking, I love it.
You should always wear a mask when cutting treated pine and definitely never cut it indoors!
The timber treatment is also the reason the legs went almost black when you were staining it.

Thank you so much. I needed to make work bench for my art studio and this will be perfect!
An excellent table and very good instructions. We use it as a patio table next to the grill. Its more like $90 but worth every penny.
wow! you made it so incredibly easy to understand thank you...beautiful table too
You are so welcome!
i love anything about home decoration this channel is great .
I am going to try this. My husband said it's not a good idea because I don't normally build things. I can however, follow directions and can run a saw, so I'm going to attempt it. Except I think I'll use screws because I'm afraid of denting the wood with my clumsy hammering. Wish me luck!
Just the video I was looking for! I want to start this project sometime week, perfect for a beginner like me lol thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
Thank u🤗
Great video. I went the Ikea route but could see it being awesome and glad you didn't lose any fingers lol.
That is 1 Awesome piece u made. 2 think my husband bought me 1 from a furniture store 4 $250/2 stools☹😀. Great job, we will make this one bcuz I want another😀😀👍👍.
Nice work! The people that complain don't have views on their page. Ignore the clowns.
Awesome video awesome table I'm going to make this for my new house I'm moving into
Thank you for this! I have been looking for ways to get counter space in my small kitchen and this would be perfect. I'd love an island but the kitchen would be crowded. This is perfect!! Thank you for sharing!
I love all your projects. So easy to follow. Thank you!
Can you make a video of an outside pub farmhouse style table? Please.
I agree with others saying those are pressure treated 4x4's. don't use those for a table because they warp and shrink. they're fine outdoors for deck or lawn furniture but inside it'll be weird. untreated are more expensive but well worth the price difference for indoor furniture.
How are you certain that they used pressure treated lumber? Am I missing something? How do you know if it is pressure treated or not?
The color of the wood, pressure treated lumber has a green color to it. Untreated pine will look more like the boards used on the top and sides.
The color is a dead give away, either way just the 4x4's will be almost the twenty dollars. It would be cheaper to use 2x4 stud glue ups instead.
Just finished making this it turned out great thanks a little more expensive than $20 though more like close to$ 80.
I've watched a couple of your videos now and can't seem to stop..... New Sub here...
Thanks for watching!
Love this and for only around $20 to make! Can't beat that. Thanks for sharing this.

I am starting the process of making a kitchen island but want to add a stainless steel top and drawers. Can you make a video showing the process of adding drawers with actual hardware
not trying to bring down the creators of this video, I think they do excellent work and I am a subscriber.
This was so satisfying to watch. And I can't wait to make this. Thank you!
This video.... makes me feel that even i can do this. Thank you so much. I subbed. 😊😊😊
Awesome, thanks so much!
really nice my Wife will love it..took note to build one..thanks
Two 2x4s glued together would be a safer inside choice. Treated lumber indoors is not safe. Your ideas are good and creative.
I built your kitchen island and it is the highlight iny kitchen 😆. Thank you so much for the awesome video. Do you have a video on chairs that will fit the kitchen island?
That's awesome! We do have a bar stool video that will work for the island...
If you don't mind sharing. How much did you spend on this table?
I just finished this, and it turned out great...added a shelf underneath for storage...I will say it's WAY more than $20 though 😉
Looks like the wood is outdoor wood because of its color. Isn’t it treated with formaldahide it’s dangerous to breath if used indoors?
$20, $40, $60, $100??? Geeeezzz... it's cheaper than buying one from a store. Thanks for the video!
Ikr... I was seconds from buying one for $600. Now I think Im going to try my hand at making this one... Even if it cost me $200 to make, it's still better than buying it.
Yall have the best videos, thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!!
Our pleasure!
I like this and I am going to try something similar. I appreciate the inspiration. Just a question: why not wood screws? I have better luck with them than nails. Also, I like idea of wood glue as mentioned in other comments.
Because this channel is a content farm that creates projects that are impossible to actually build.
New subbie! I'm trying to find affordable diy ideas for my new home. You have cool tutorials to help inspire me. 😊
Great job! I love the simplicity of creating this! I hate the videos that make it so complicated trying to follow their directions!!! great job!!!
+CPR4THEBODY - thank you!

Seriously. And in the kitchen of all places. Urethane that until it shines.
why, what's wrong with treated wood, what kind of wood should be used?just asking because I want to build it.would like a response so I can do it right.tnxs
Thanks.
I am going to try this, but wanted to mention, that I love the kitchen counter. It matches the island. Did you guys do the counter?
No we didn't, it's actually from IKEA!
