For those who are confused on the time frame of what this is representing, it's not necessarily "Vikings," and more or less not Neolithic. It's Proto-Germanic she's singing here, and in most of their music. It's Pre-Migration Period, 600 years before the Vikings, ~1st Century CE til ~550 when Elder Futhark broke into Younger Futhark. It's based on historical linguistic reconstruction and snippets of text found archeologically and through Tacitus & Saxo Grammaticus, some of which were carved in runes on bone fragments, or described pejoratively by Latin writers, who described the throat singing as like "howling dogs," when it would sound provisionally like in this video, inferred by the Sammi, Mongol, Indigenous Greenland, and Faroese traditions which survived the ages relatively unchanged. Then they kinda do this English language "rap," which is based on descriptions of Galdralag and Seiðalag -- no surviving examples of which exist outside of very, very scant snippets in the Poetic and Prose Edda, and in descriptions by Saxo Grammaticus and possibly by Tacitus. The low growling and hissing, the forked fingers, is based on descriptions of Seiðr magic. That kind of image survived in the inspiration of "witches" which Christians were afraid of deeply, who were real people practicing a similar indigenous artform, and came to become an abstracted meme of its own that evolved & mutated into the 21st century in a vague smear of pop culture idioms.

The name of this group is Heilung and Heilung is a german word, that means healing. This video is healing for me and for all the pain, that the katholic church has done to the women of Europe. When I hear this music and see this video, I feel the power of my germanic ancestors rising through my whole body.
Lucky for you, the Catholic church is dying in Germany, and will be replaced by Islam in a century when Muslims become the majority population in your ancestral homelands. The pagans will not be unified or strong enough (there won't be enough native Germans, since you all basically stopped breeding) to repulse Islam, and the crucifix will simply be replaced by the crescent moon. Unless your people suddenly decide to start breeding again (which seems doubtful, considering the dysgenic effects atheism and feminism have had on Western nations) your people, and this music, will be utterly erased in several centuries.

I find her voice eerily hypnotic, awakening a primal force from inside each of us. Summoning spirits and (re)enacting a ritual from ancient times, long forgotten in the minds of men, but alive and well in our souls and collective conscience. Echoing from eons before recorded time - amplified history which reverberates into today.
the album underutilised her vocals so much, that's why I only listen to the live album because her voice is honestly so haunting it gives me shivers every time !

This language is proto Norse. Not old norse. Old norse was the language spoken by the vikings. This is much older. This was the language that some germanic people spoken on the Downfall of roman Empire hundreds of years before the viking advent. More, this have pagan influence from the 0 to 500 ad. Not that end of pagan influence in nords land of circa 800-900, the time of viking era. So heilung whant to show something more older and primitive than..." Viking music", because this is not that, is another thing, as i said before.
@Radle Grebdron the letters you are missing on your keyboard is Æ Ø Å. 29 letters in the Norwegian alphabet. "Håvamål." Other than that. Pretty spot on. :-) Keep educating the people. :-)
@Radle Grebdron Dude, it was meant to be funny... No need to educate me on my own history and heritage. Old Norse is written with runes. something the keyboard has a hard time to reproduce correctly.
@Radle Grebdron I never said the original texts was written in Bokmål? If you do not have a norwegian keyboard, those letters are not present. Nobody uses old Norwegian anymore. Stop twisting the meaning of my words. These days, with the Norwegian in daily use it is called Håvamål. I never said it was wrong to type Hávamál. Show me where i say that? The joke (or the funnny bit) is in the fact that we have 29 letters, and many tries to use a 26 letter keyboard to (or qwerty keyboard set to English, to be specific) to type out Norwegian words, with mixed success. Which was my assumption in this case. But ok, just continue to be a dick about it. Heil og sæl

Wow what a voice!!! I got intense chills!! Incredible woman!!
