Imagine being a newly born Cerebrate, and you get rushed by the Terran enemy before your mentors can even finish their tutorial. Zasz: "I have located a small band of terrans ..." Cerebrate: "Yeah I have located them too 😞"
Actually makes sense for the first thing an alien cancer monster caccoon experiences upon being discovered by humans is people in hazmat suits destroying it with cutting torches & drills
@@tabula_rosa It always struck me as odd how bad Terran scv damage was. They are using *fusion cutters* and it barely tickles anything?! Fusion, as in nuclear fusion! For gameplay reasons I get it though.
the juxtaposition of the zerg tutorial playing as you're blowing their buildings up, actual tears in my eyes hatchery explodes while zasz is introducing himself
@GiantGrantGames A future mission has a bug in it ("Eye for an Eye"). Minor spoiler for viewers only. There will be times that Zeratul tells you a location and pings a location for when he sends a Dark Templar. In cases where the Dark Templar is going to the bottom right position, the text will be correct but the Ping will be wrong. The ping is directed in the wrong direction, I'll probably fix this in a later patch (the campaign wasn't as popular until more recently). The text direction is always right. Basically - Top Left is fine, Top Right is fine, Bottom Right ping is wrong (it will ping top left) but the text will still read bottom right which is the correct position. I believe it causes some confusion just because the direction is given ahead of time, but not again (while the ping is given again) when the Templar is sent. While I know it is way off (if it is done) but I'd also like to mention that "The Liberation of Korhal" (BW Zerg Mission 4) has a bug too where it can randomly crash near the mid-part of the mission (there is a distinct text that pops up during this time). It is a crash and I have absolutely no idea what causes it (and others don't either). It, however, is a mission you can save normally so I would just recommend putting in a save if need be when nearing that point. It doesn't seem to happen often. There aren't really any other missions that I can think of that have notable issues from complaints (other than difficulty of some of them). If you have any questions about the mod or starcraft or about how the Mod generally works, I'm fine with answering any questions.
Pulling the boys and a cannon rush in one video; if only the base game had more than 1 ZvZ so we could've experienced the full platter of cheese with a 4pool.
I mean lore wise they also only won because the terran did not know where the zergs were giving time to for the new cerebrate to build up so it fits lol
Grant pulling the boys and cheesing the newly born Cerebrete is so funny. He was just born and was immediately bumrushed by SCVs. The fastest mission in the run so far, and by far the funniest.
Grant reminding us he's a protoss player with this cannon rushing haha, also reminds me of that one archive video where he cannon rushes an ai lobby in sc2.
Lore-accurate reckless brave dominion marine/tank push, love to see it. Duke would be proud. Seems the zerg weren't nothin' to them alpha squadron boys.
You know what. If you just ended the video after the first mission. Wouldn't have been mad. You could've even just done the mission, then left the video with 27 minutes of a black screen
20:30 Grant saying you don't have Medics moments after clicking in a Barracks and possibly viewing he can build medics, perfect timing. Thankfully he had to look at the command card later and found out!
Rolling over all those Zerg as Confederates, Protoss and later the Dominion is infinitely more satisfying than playing as Raynor's Raiders or Kerrigan and the Swarm :D It's those pre-built bases in the most attractive locations of the map, and the starting tech that just sells it! Over two decades after the original is time enough to fully enjoy this kind of silliness.
Fun fact re valkyrie discussion at 31:21 : the past couple years terrans have sometimes used valkyries vs zerg in pro Brood War Remastered. marine+medic's limited mobility makes it difficult to stop muta harass, and the best counter to mutas, Science Vessels with Irradiate, requires lots of gas and time. Valkyrie builds offer a way to stop mutas with consistent splash damage and no ground-vs-air mobility issues. However the most popular build is still marine+medic into science vessels with Irradiate, for the reasons Grant gives.
The first mission even makes sense since one of the reasons the terrans got overwhelmed is that the new cerebrate was in hiding and could build forces to overwhelm them, so if the Terrans knew where the Zerg where from the beginning lorewise they'd win. lol
Starcraft 2 has many units that draw inspiration from various units in Brood War. As an example, the Liberator in SC2 draws from the Valkyrie in Brood War, with its splash damage missiles. There's also the SC2 Disruptor, which draws inspiration from the Reaver's insane splash, but tweaks things to make counterplay both possible and rewarding. Then there's the Starcraft 2 Siege Tank, which draws inspiration from the Siege Tank in Brood War; it has a longer range in Siege Mode and fires slower, but the attack itself hits harder and even has splash damage. There's also the Starcraft 2 Co-op Earthsplitter Ordnance, which draws inspiration from the Siege Tank in Brood War; it can hit things almost across the map, even even further than the unit itself can actually see, like the Siege Tank in Brood war. It even has splash damage. There's also the Starcraft 2 Queen, which draws inspiration from the Queen in Brood War; it's surprisingly strong as a combat unit in some situations, and has some very strong utility spells, some that can even be used in combat. There's also the Starcraft 2 Liberator, which draws inspiration from the Siege Tank in Brood War; it has a longer range in Siege Mode and fires slower, but the attack itself hits much harder. There's also the Starcraft 2 Ravager, which draws inspiration from the Siege Tank in Brood War; it has a long-range splash attack that fires slowly and hits surprisngly hard, and an alternate mode which limits its mobility. There's also the Starcraft 2 Ghost, which draws inspiration from the Siege Tank in Brood War; it has a long-range splash attack that fires extremely slowly and hits very hard, but instead of an alternate mode, it requires ammunition to be constructed, like the Reaver. There's also the Starcraft Brood War Lurker, which draws inspiration from the Siege Tank in Starcraft; it has a long-range splash attack that it can only use while in an alternate mode, which removes its ability to move.
21:18 You already had an academy but you built it again.(so you could build your scanner already) I am not blaming you. Actually i am respecting you. Cuz double academies are required to upgrade your marine's both arm ans legs
02:28 Well that's ironic, in Executor Nral's video clearly GiantOvermindGames are cheesed up by Tassadar like that in exact same map. Now Grant is taking the role of "bullying the zerg" instead.
I love it when you laugh, a cool huge dude with a big heart. You're like a personification of the wholesome RTS-community. You keep our beloved strategies on point. Thank you.
its really interesting that the tutorial tells you not to use your last drone to make a building. i cant think of a single situation where the zerg is down to 1 drone where that isnt already a loss. it really makes me wonder what the devs thought playing starcraft was gonna look like that they felt the need to warn that
The enemy suddenly popping out of the dark with a huge army of some infantry unit seems to be a theme lol. Really enjoying this series, looking forward to seeing you kill kerrigan about 7 more times =)

Yeah there had to be at least one mission where you can just pull everything and crush the player's starting base lol. Honestly I imagine the ai doing that in basically any rts mission I play
so nostalgic hearing all this music. So cool they added it all to spotify, I made a playlist so quick of SC and WoW songs xD I love how you are so genuinely enjoying this, it is nice to see the creativity and goofing around whilst you're also great at the game
For protoss ground, you can build 4 (actually up to 8, or even 10 horizontally) gateways in an offset cross around a pylon that will spit all units out around the edges instead of getting stuck. You align the top gateway's left side above the pylon, then place the 2nd one flush below that just to the right of the pylon. Then the 3rd one goes below the pylon to the left of the 2nd gateway. The 4th gateway goes above the bottom one to the left of the pylon and also touch the top gateway's left side. You're basically doing the same thing as the top, but rotating in a clockwise direction. If you do it right the warping-in animation should form an offset diamond around the pylon. You can do this 4 more times in the same clockwise way for symmetry, and 2 additional times horizontally (b/c pylons don't have symmetrical fields) for a total of 10, and iirc you can fit two photon cannons on the sides as well
Valkyrie are actually extremely viable competitively right now. Builds that get a small handful of them have been popular in the ASL for a couple years now, it's just they have a very high skill floor because its really easy to lose them to scourge/ picked off by a muta ball.
i wish all tutorial mission of the mod were like this, free a-moves. That would be so funny (even though the 1st terran mission is awesome in this mod)
6:15 “So you admit, you have knowledge of protoculture?” 31:24 Both the Valkyrie and the Medic were originally supposed to be in the base game, but were cut due to time constraints.
