@marcushyu,---The notion that has to be discarded is the notion of mortgages on homes and real property. I ended up homeless as a direct result of the pandemic north of DFW. A few years earlier, Dallas had forced the homeless population out of the city and into my area, and it REALLY exploded in 2021. Nobody would give me a job, government assistance was virtually non-existent, and I signed up on a list for housing with a 3-YEAR wait. I don't drink, do drugs, or have a criminal record, I just had nobody left to lean on... and I found myself eating out of garbage cans, stealing from stores, and doing other crap I'd never dreamed of in order to survive.
So, what is responsible for it not keeping up? BTW the proper description and reasoning advanced for initiating that program was " a minimum living wage".
Under capitalism, housing is primarily treated as a commodity rather than a human right. Developers and investors prioritize luxury or high-end properties to maximize returns, often neglecting affordable housing options. This dynamic exacerbates housing shortages for lower-income groups, directly fueling homelessness. Real estate speculation drives up property prices and rents, particularly in urban areas. Gentrification displaces long-term residents, pushing them into precarious living conditions or homelessness as neighborhoods become unaffordable. In many capitalist economies, public investment in affordable housing and social services has stagnated or declined, leaving vulnerable populations with fewer safety nets. This decline is often justified by calls for fiscal austerity or privatization of services, exacerbating social inequality. The housing crisis mirrors broader economic inequality. Wealthy individuals and corporations benefit from policies such as tax breaks for property ownership or loopholes in real estate investments, while the working class struggles to secure stable housing. The private sector lacks incentives to address the housing needs of marginalized groups, such as those with disabilities, mental health conditions, or histories of incarceration. Without targeted intervention, these populations remain disproportionately affected by homelessness. Potential solutions include treating housing as a basic right by increasing public housing initiatives and enforcing rent controls. Land value taxes can discourage speculation by taxing land value increases, redirecting revenue to social housing projects. Inclusionary zoning can require developers to include affordable units in new projects. Holistic policies addressing root causes of homelessness, including mental health support, addiction treatment, and job creation in vulnerable communities, are also essential. Persistent homelessness reflects a failure to prioritize human dignity and well-being over profit. By focusing on fairness and sustainability, economic policies can realign to ensure access to housing for all.

Good Government is taking care of everybody. Since most of the people are poorer, so It has to more focus to work for the majority the weak and the poor. I donnot care what we name it, SOCIALISM ?
i build my home myself in us. sth unusual. corrupted oficials destoyed it. i lost everything. that is what thay do take private property an destroy. because is private.
There is no "private property" in the UNITED STATES...that would require the following: Allodial title is a type of land ownership where the owner has absolute control over the property and is not subject to any superior authority. This means the owner is free from paying rent, taxes, or other obligations to a landlord or government.

The problem is political, no one is safe or immune to it happening to them. Thank you for the video and please consider reaching out to Hasan, Richard Wolff!
It's not the failure of capitalism; it's the failure of government to address the inequalities in society. Just tax the rich more to help the poor. The wealthy don't need billions to live a good life. They owe the people a social duty of care because it is the public who helped to make them very rich.
First Half: It’s bad that the postal workers are not profiting enough from their labor in Canada. Second Half: It’s bad that construction workers and contractors want to profit from their labor.
Not exactly. Neither the postal workers nor the construction workers profit at all. In fact, they're working for less every month and have been for 40 years. Catch on?
You don't get it do you? Capitalism ensures the MAJORITY of people live near the poverty line. It doesn't allow for everyone starting their own business to succeed. The majority will remain near the poverty line. We can do better than that so stop pushing a fake solution that can never work. Capitalism is savage. We need Socialism- just like all the huge companies have!
I've seen too many broken hearts for people who fell for that solution. But no doubt you y0urself are a successful small business owner with a promising unlimited future.
Just a couple of helpful comments. 1. After years of listening to your radio dispatches and now your youtube videos, Richard, if you sped up your delivery even 5% it would help. The gaps between words creates a greater likelihood of disconnect in this listener when you are speaking. People are so often distracted and doing multiple things that keeping them tuned into the argument with maximally effective elocution is extremely important. Even a tiny less time between words would be extremely helpful and increase listenability. 2. More graphs while explaining things like the number of people not voting or the small difference in votes between Harris and Trump would have been helpful and would not have to be on screen long to increase understanding of the narrative. Even with subtitles this would increase comprehension of the message. Please consider these things, they're just constructive.

Criminals calling someone else Criminal...go figure.
10:31 yes, but they didn't so she isn't president. And if that 1% did vote democrat she would have the same support as Trump; less as 1/3 of all eligible voters.
True. All worthless labels. Cheerleaders for the status quo. Metastatic predatory end stage capitalism.
The rich stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping then the poor stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich
This must be an investment with Mrs Geraldine Ann Philip
Wow! Kind of in shock you mentioned expert, Geraldine Ann Philips. What a coincidence!!
⠀ She helped me recover what I lost trying to trade myself
Geraldine Ann Philip understanding the market indicators is impressive. She knows exactly when to enter and exit trades for maximum profits. her siignals are top notch
That's amazing, I've seen different people talking about this Geraldine Ann, she must be a cool woman for people to talk this about her,how do you people earn money?
Prof Wolff, I am an entreprenur, defined as capitalist for sure, but I fully belief CAPITALISM work only in the private business. Even so, The Government still has to “MANAGE” that. Good Government is taking care of everybody. Since most of the people are poorer, so It has to more focus to work for the majority the weak and the poor. I donnot care what we name it, SOCIALISM ?
Yes! Even Adam Smith believed that.
It's called EVIL!!!!
Ill be homeless most of my adult life...35 years and dead at 55
watch this on the mobile? that's dedication.
@jillfryer6699 For sure.... haven't had a PC in many years
With votes for all candidates counted, 275,000 more people did not vote for trump than did.
Trump recently said, "i will give them a parcel of land! Regarding homelessness
Snakes every where..its a sad an harsh to walk this grounds
✊🏽✊🏽 arriba
i build my home myself in us. sth unusual. corrupted oficials destoyed it. i lost everything. that is what thay do take private property an destroy. because is private.
There is no "private property" in the UNITED STATES...that would require the following:
Allodial title is a type of land ownership where the owner has absolute control over the property and is not subject to any superior authority. This means the owner is free from paying rent, taxes, or other obligations to a landlord or government.
Doesn't it get extremely unbalanced, eventually??
Also also marxism known as Socialism or communism is banned from usa government positions. 1953 or 54 anti communism act
The reactionary Ky legislature is infested with members whose education, including Law School was affordable because it was subsidized by tax payers who are trapped in the urban slums, and the "hollers" of the Appalachian East End of this state. These legislators are slamming shut the very doors to prosperity they strutted through not so long ago-I know more than a few of them personally. They consider themselves to be "self made " -They ignore the reality that the rise in the cost of living, let alone the exponential increase in the cost of public higher ed down here.
The rich do not want the serfs to have a safe place to live...........
Please contact Hasan Piker and appear on his broadcast again, we would all love to have you, and we need to build a desentralized coalition of empathetic and smart americans we are to make it through these next years. Homeless people are PEOPLE; the amount of homelessness increased last year by 18%, and many of them even work multiple jobs. The problem is political, no one is safe or immune to it happening to them. Thank you for the video and please consider reaching out to Hasan, Richard Wolff!
Bring on the pitch forks

Canada is US 1980 from reagon bs
This didn't happen under capitalism. It happened under socialism, and you know it. Will you EVER stop lying? Is it even possible? I have my doubts...
hello
It's time to stop having kids
It's not the failure of capitalism; it's the failure of government to address the inequalities in society. Just tax the rich more to help the poor. The wealthy don't need billions to live a good life. They owe the people a social duty of care because it is the public who helped to make them very rich.

First Half: It’s bad that the postal workers are not profiting enough from their labor in Canada.
Second Half: It’s bad that construction workers and contractors want to profit from their labor.
Not exactly. Neither the postal workers nor the construction workers profit at all. In fact, they're working for less every month and have been for 40 years. Catch on?
Wait. Nobody is the president.
The muskrat is. Just talked to toto on the phone. He splained everything in 1939 in the wizard of Oz. Just draw back the curtain.
Prof., Harris is worse, at least trump is entertaining....
STOP THE FEARMONGERING!
Socialism to satisfy the needs of those power! This guy made millions has a capitalist Capitalism for him but Socialism for us!
You are mistake
I don't think the true homeless are the majority, the drug addicted as such that they choose the high over scocilabillity in society
😂🤣😂🤣😂
Notice how the solution is never start your own business but blame someone else?
Ah shush now come on. lol You sound like an overstimulated dopamine junkie lol He's doing perfectly fine as is. Just slow down and listen to the man or he'll be forced into producing tiktoks like half the other people out there hehe
He needs to speak slowly so EVERYONE understands him. If it bothers you speed it up. I watch at 1.33x or 1.39x.
But he has to do the funny faces and voices...
The Canadian Postal workers. Some of the most overpaid and over-benefited Canadians.
They were 40 years ago. Stop punching down!
@@ronstephen-wy4ib The truth is... Anything associated with the Canadian government is grossly out of step with the private sector.
they used to, maybe still do, call a shift at canada post ‘tour of duty’ … brutal working conditions
