Zayn's experience has been very different for many reasons. 1) his personality might not be as suited as H for the showbiz and all it means 2) he left the band and came out with the album he wanted to do in the type of music he liked and he probably was adviced to separate himself as much as possible from the band and that sometimes means saying stuff that he might have regretted later like that he thought 1D music was not cool and that he hated the whole experience (he probably hated parts of it but there's no way he hated it all). Maybe in retrospective Zayn would have done stuff differently, but at the end of the day there's no reason to hate him because of that, he made his choices, he has come out with good music since then... I hope he is happier... And Made In The AM is probably my favourite 1D album yet, so, there's that.

I'd like to assure him that we'll always put effort into showing him how much his music and his art are appreciated. I get what he says, being aware of the fact that these people buy your concert tickets, your albums, and they take days off from work/school and camp outside the venues, not complaning but actually becoming more thrilled as the concert approaches, and singing, having this much energy and such a positive vibe throughout the whole thing; he deserves that. He deserves even more because he created a safe space for everyone, we can be whoever we are without being judged, because his mantra is "treat people with kindness". He makes us feel loved. Tony, if you're reading this, I hope you understand that Harry, Louis, Niall & Liam worked really hard over the years in adding more and more of their own songwriting influences into the albums. Go look at the writing credits, and see why Harry is proud of the music. They didn't just act as singers of manufactured "boyband" product. It was an education in the business, and they learned, matured, and perfected their craft. Very smart lads, indeed.

I just love how he clearly knew that the interviewer tried to made him say something "bad" about one direction but he just kept saying how much he was grateful and how much he loved it and I believe he is totally genuine about this. Harry thank you for being so loyal and respectful towards the band, us and everything in between
the SLOWEST talker but I'm not complaining because that means MORE time listening to Harry

Thank you for sharing the full section of Harry talking about 1D. Tony, if you're reading this, I hope you understand that Harry, Louis, Niall & Liam worked really hard over the years in adding more and more of their own songwriting influences into the albums. Go look at the writing credits, and see why Harry is proud of the music. They didn't just act as singers of manufactured "boyband" product. It was an education in the business, and they learned, matured, and perfected their craft. Very smart lads, indeed.
I'm still hopeful that 1D will come back. Boys really loved it & always grateful for being a part of it.

The interviewer who smirks and asks if he liked their music certainly hasn't listened to anything other than their most famous singles and doesn't know they co-wrote all the songs. Rock influences are strong in the last two albums and even MM I'd say.
if you tell me songs like little black dress, what a feeling, or even through the dark don't have strong rock influences I don't know what to tell you except you're biased and your definition of rock influence is very narrow
