Elvis didn’t want to be called the king only Jesus is the King. He wanted to entertain the fans
To understand Elvis' attachment and concern for the black American community you have to know the man grew up very poor and as a child, he attended one of the very very rare mixed-race churches in the south. He was a Gospel singer before he ever recorded a single rock song. The moves that made him so controversial he learned from black revival church services where they sang from the heart and just let their bodies move and flow with the passion of their devotion. Elvis as a young white boy was fascinated by that and loved it. He adopted it for himself.
Thank you! I appreciate this!
You should hear him sing I WILL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN.
That is the greatest performance you will ever see from any artist. PERIOD...
He left it all on the stage with this performance.
By the time the special aired Senator Robert Kennedy had also been assassinated. He was also a great warrior for Civil Rights.
You should watch the interview with Sam Bell, Elvis' childhood friend. Elvis grew up in a black church. Gospel music was his first love. Him and James Brown would stay up all night singing them. When Elvis passed James Brown sat in the room for 4 hrs with him.
Trying To Get To You 68 comeback special
The Elvis If I Can Dream performance - music - the whole damn thang - will never be bested - EVER
Love seeing my fellow black folks reacting and learning more about elvis because he’s been deemed as a racist somehow when that’s far from the truth. This is a man who grew up in tupelo with other black children, went to a mixed race church, hired black musicians in his band in the 70’s, befriended many black artist in the 50’s and created this song for MLK assassination.
I love that you do your research about Elvis. He was not only a great artist but he was also a humble, generous human being. Thank you, greetings from Greece
Thank you Theodora! And love to Greece! 🇬🇷
On top of MLK being assassinated, Robert Kennedy was assassinated while they were taping the special. Elvis was very upset about both. He said that someone once told him if you can't say it then sing it. The director of the show and everyone else had heard Elvis talk about his feelings about everything going on so he asked a couple of the musicians to write this specifically for Elvis. They did it in one day then Elvis sang it and put his feelings into the words. This is the result.
That was his preacher Hubert Brewster, a popular black preacher in Memphis who said in a sermon if you can't say it then sing it.
Just to add a bit; The show's producer, Steve Binder, went to musical director, Billy Goldenberg, to write an inspirational closing song, reflecting Elvis’ feelings. Billy was going to write it with Walter “Earl” Brown, but Earl wrote it all himself, that same night (& even though entitled to it, Billy, honorably, declined co-writing credit). Earl said he drew inspiration from Sam Cooke’s song, A Change Is Gonna Come & of course, MLK's speech. Earl also said, the next day, he was playing it for the producers & Col. Parker tried to put the kibosh on it, but Elvis overruled him.
@@mikem957 Herbert.
Let's face facts,, Elvis was just fantastic!!!
@@theresaboom7711 Now that's a FACT!👍👍
I know I'm a little late to the party but I'd like to share this with you. Elvis meant and felt every word he sang. I know you probably have heard about his life but something not too well known. When he had huge shows scheduled in Texas the sponsors told him he couldn't bring his black members he said if they don't come I don't come, and he didn't. He held the black community in his heart and in great regard
I love his movies some more than others but Elvis is in them and I can watch him any time I want to.
This song was written for Elvis. This is also represented the assassinations of JFK, Robert Kennedy, and MLK. Parker didn't want him to do this song but Elvis stood his ground.
We're still waiting on these dreams to come true. Rip Kings
Thank you for your reaction my friend. People put Elvis down these days because he didn’t write his own music. But they don’t understand why. The times and priorities today are so different than back then.
Back in the day, song writers only wrote songs and they went to the record companies with their songs. If the record company liked the song then it was up to company to find the vocalist to perform the song under their label.
Not everyone had the vocals Elvis had. The vocalist sold the song. The performance.
There was no auto tune nor was there any computerized manipulation with vocalists.
Songs and vocalist just didn’t go hand and hand back then. Today it’s all different. Basically anyone could sing these days but back then no.
As a performer Presley was inducted into 22 music hall of fames. Five of which were, Country,Gospel, Rock n Roll, Rockabilly and R n B. Unprecedented.
Note:
Presley’s manager was a bastard. He took away Presley’s money, his career, his confidence and his life. Just think how much more Presley could have achieved if had found a legitimate manager. 👍
Elvis also changed the arrangements, tempo, and some of the words on most of the songs he recorded.
@@Sergio54321 Good point. Others wrote the song… but Elvis made the song in every way after. Same with Three dog night. Cory Wells was perfection too.
Facts....
Yeah man!!! I'm 52 and just finding out now and I'm embarrassed for not knowing and I'm PISSED at the way he was used and manipulated for other ppls gain! And his manager... I want that prick assassinated to know what it feels like. But that then goes against Elvis's dream to feel that way 😔
God damn this is a tragic story
Peace out brother 😔✌️
Plus JEALOUSY no doubt was a factor at times with some people
People (45 years after he's gone) still call Elvis King of Rock'n roll, but he did not like that title, he considerd that the only King was God and he actually told his fans this several times, but I consider him to be the King and not only of Rock'n roll, he is the King of Music, but what do you think, is he good enough to be called a Music King?
Elvis was really in my mind, the King of GOSPEL and other music, no one does it better then him, he is best known for making Rockn roll famous, so he was called The King of Rockn roll, but he never liked that people called him that.
He actually several times stoped Fans that said that he was the King of Rock'n roll, he said:
I'm just an entertainer and singer, God is the only true King!!
He was born in the poor parts of Tupelo Missisippi and it was mainly Afroamericans living there, at the same place as Elvis family lived there lived 3 more white familys, the rest was colored people, his family was dirtpoor until he became an artist after singing in a mainly black church during his childhood.
Did you know that he had several friends that where Afroamerican, one of his friends was James Brown, yes THAT James Brown the King of Soul, another artist was B.B King, yes that B.B King...
He also was friends with Mohamed Ali, yes the GREATEST boxer of all time, he even had a Robe made for him, but it was to much bling on it so Ali wouldn't where it more then one time to a fight.
He really admired Martin Luther King very much, he felt that all people are equal, unfortually he never got to meet him, that would have created to much problems for both of them at that time.
He had several medical problems, Glaucoma, problems sleeping, problems with irritable bowel syndrome, things that affected his real life and made him need medication to function.
Yes, he took medicines that today are considered to be called drugs, but at that time doctors prescribed it to him and to ordinary people, they did not know of the problems it could give people (side effects).
He never took any so-called street drugs, but unfortunately he did not realize that those medications would be a problem for him, he thought it was ordinary medicine because his doctor prescribed it to him and to everyone who needed it.
In his family, people died at a relatively young age, so even if he did not have the medication, he might have died at about the same age.
He could never be alone and thus himself, at that time there was no word superstar, so nothing could prepare him for that kind of life.
Did you know that a big group of white poeple actually smashed his records and wanted to ban his music, just because they called it so called N... music, that is so painfun to think that some people actually can think like that, skincolor is just color and nothing more, when will people realise that?
Here are some of his Gospel songs:
Amazing Graze, Take me home precious lord, How great though art, How great thou art acapella: (I found this version: ua-cam.com/video/Be5y0rMBIFI/v-deo.html) You'll never walk alone, You gave me a mountin, Crying in the chapel, Why me Lord (written by Kris Kristofferson), Unchained melody, I'm not sure if it's a gospel song but Walk a mile in my shoes and many more, he also made several Christmas songs, also some type of Blues songs.
.
If you prefer ballad songs then look at these:
My Way, Suspicius minds, In the Ghetto (written by Mac Davies), Memories (written by Mac Davies), If I can dream that is a tribute (parts of it is taken directly from the I can dream speach by MLK) to Martin Luther King JR and senator Robert Kennedy, What now my love, Walk a mile in my shoes (listen to the words in the beginning), Welcome to my world, Make The World Go Away, Bridge Over Troubled Water, An American Thrillergy, Hurt, Sweet Caroline, Just Pretend, What now my love, Are you lonesome tonight (laughing versin, or not), Oh Danny Boy (for you Irish people), a song that many might not know that he sung it is this one Yellow rose of Texas, I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water, well remember that he sang over 700 songs, yes most of them Covers, but that made the artists that he coverd more popular and they also got some money from it...
There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he acctually conducted his musicans and back up choirs all the time !
He is the only person to have 2 records gone to sell Gold and 2 to to sell Platinum since he died.
Elvis is also in almost every genre of Music Hall of Fame (5 that I'm sure of), no one else is in more then perhaps 2.
Not bad for someone who never took a single singing lesson, yes he sang in church so perhaps he learned a little there, right?
.
Something else that people tend to overlook:
He always conducts his musicans and backup singers, he never gets credit for being able to do that.
Imagen you are a singer, you have great musicans, you have great backup singers, no Guest Artists, no Autotune, no Lipsinging and no Fireworks, now all is about your skill, could you handle that pressure?
At the time when Elvis started Autotune did not exist and when it became availible, then he still did not use it, he did not need to, he also always sang so you could hear every word that he sang, the Fans always felt that he sang to just you !
That is what Elvis did in over 1600 concerts, despite having problems with his health, like his Glaucoma, the headlights must have hurt his eyes like crazy.
He sang over 800 songs, I wonder how he could remember them all, he never vrote a song himself, so he had to remember other peoples songs, well that in it self is amazing in it self.
By the way he had Glucomea and that must have been difficult being in the headlights all the time, that could be why he sometimes closes his eyes, but also sometimes squinting !
This unfortually made him temporary blind after the shows, that is why they led him of the stage and into his car, that is something that not many people knew about Elvis.
Elvis suits was made of 100% Polyester, or 100 cotton (I'm not sure witch one), it was originally a karate suit, it was very light, but it was hot, so it made him sweat a lot, he got some bad press about that, but if you give it all then you will sweat, it should be positive, right?
About the deep basevoice JD Sumner (a member of The Stamps Quartet) he is the Basso Profundo, I think it's called that, it is the deepest base singer there is.
About him helping others, look at this: ua-cam.com/video/CrJ1c9tm-C0/v-deo.html
Elvis made a show where all the money went to build the Memorial after Pearl Harbour, he talked to the nations about taking the Poliovaccin, Elvis took the first injection himself and he helped to start St Jude hospital against cancer, he also gave away juwelery, gave away cars, gave away houses to total strangers.
He also have a own organisation that helps people get out of Homelessness (Presley Charitable Foundation).
A thing that perhaps you did not know: Elvis NEVER had a show OUTSIDE OF USA, well he did sing once in Canada (I think it was in Ottowa) !
When the Aloha From Hawaii, Live in Honolulu, 1973 was showed, then it had 1.5 Billion viewers from around the world and the population that existed at the beginning of the seventies was approx: 3.7 BILLION people, this show was the first time a single artist was shown LIVE around the world.
Video of Mohammad Ali speech after Elvis died:
ua-cam.com/video/PO8Kq_3KTyI/v-deo.html
I have to say that I loved being at Graceland and seeing his home, first we were at the house in Tupelo where he lived in his early years, he was born there !
You don't have a guide taking you on a tour, you can go all over yourself, but stay outside of the ropes and do not attempt to go upstairs, the outside is huge, so is the house, but you don't realise that from the front of the house.
I don't regret for a second that I was there, or that I stood at his grave site and said out loud that this is for the humanitarian Elvis/person/man and then I gave him a military salute, the others there just looked at me and asked if I didn't like his music.
So I told them that he was clearly one of the best singers and artists ever, but I loved his big heart more, he helped so many people without getting credit for it, he didn't want the credit of helping others, he did it out of love and respect and to me that is what true charity is all about.
This PLACE (GRACELAND) should be a protected part of music history and also American history forever, I think that people will keep coming for years and years and years to come !
Elvis did lots of things for America to, he helped to avoid getting Polio (he took the vaccin in a tv show that made the intrest for taking the vaccin go from 0,6 % to 80 % in 6 months), he helped in the figth to defeat Cancer with helping to build St Judes children cancer treatment clinic, he helped to build the Memorial over Pearl Harbour and many other things !
He also have a own organisation that helps people get out of Homelessness (Presley Charitable Foundation).
Elvis wS exhausted. Elvis is the goat.
Try watching, Elvis and the Black Communiy, That echo will never never Die
It's great. I've watched it three times ❤☮️
the greatest song ever by the only one king of music
He went to his knees crying at the end.
This was the only time that Elvis performed this song live and stated that this is the only time that he would sing it live ever. In honor of MLK & RFK!
Yes this song deserves a standing ovation! I love love love this song. We all need to listen to this song EVERY SINGLE DAY! I’m so happy you have heard this masterpiece. Now, TEACH THIS SONG TO EVERY YOUNG PERSON YOU CAN GET TO. ❤❤❤❤
As you are on your journey with Elvis pay attention, he controls the band, orchestra, back up singers, with his hand gestures and body moves. He is music. He did it here, very obvious on Polk Salad Annie. This era of music was real voices, real muscicians not manipulated with technology like today. It was pure.
Exactly!
Elvis was behind everything he did 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 there were a couple good Documentaries, different movies on his life '
Elvis was brought up in the ghetto of Tupelo, Mississippi and Memphis Tennessee. He admired Martin Luther King Jr. a lot. Hence the tribute he was so Distraught over his assassination they said he cried like a baby
Still and always one of the best performances in music history, we badly need to hear this song sung in todays world.
You need to watch the new Elvis movie
Elvis was a a perfectionist when it came to arrangements nd music.
Elvis he was a great singer, beautiful voice ❤️
This song was not supposed to be in the special. This was taped in June, not long after Bobby Kennedy was shot down, but aired in December. Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis' manager, wanted I'll Be Home For Christmas to end the special. Earl Brown wrote this song and once Elvis heard it, he knew he had to sing it. Well...Parker vetoed it, Elvis wanted to give it a chance and Elvis won. You should treat yourself to the concert in its entirety. It is fabulous.
His backup singers were The Sweet Inspirations. Dionne Warwick was a founding member.
Elvis orchestrated the band and set the music arrangement. Excellence!
How does one orchestrate a band?
Glen Hardin did the arrangements of the music. Elvis had input of course. But since he couldn't read music he couldn't go through the charts.
Elvis did a lot of his own arrangements. I don’t know if he did this or not but he did do it pretty often.
@@hookedonreactions7649 Read my post of one month ago.
He did demand perfection from his band. Amazing musicians.
This is my number one song of all time.
NO AUTO-TUNE HERE.
If you want to hear Elvis' vocal range I suggest "American Trilogy" from the 1973 world wide satellite special "Aloha From Hawaii" (first solo performer to do so)
Or toward the end of the his career his version of "Unchained Melody"
Elvis had a 3 octave voice and most rock singers have about a 2 octave range.
Here is a quote from Henry Pleasants book “The Great American Popular Singers” (1974) “… "Elvis was all at once a tenor, a baritone and a bass, the most unusual voice I’ve ever heard.” I believe that this ability - among many others - is what makes his voice so alluring......."
An American Trilogy is up here * points * He killed that.
I watched it with my family. I was 9 years old and knew of his fantastic voice from I was a toddler. ❤️🇧🇻
He did not perform without his back-up singers. He knew how they added to his performance. I love that quiet little "thank you. Goodnight."
Hope you get to see the new Elvis movie ... it explains much of his background ... he's stunningly portrayed by Austin Butler !
stunning performance where he gave his all. certainly one of the classics which deserves to be played even now, for everyone to understand just how this era of Elvis was unforgettable
Elvis the man with 10voices, or more and vocal range try hurt live, then crying in the chapel. 🎧🎤🎸🎼🎵🎵😎🎙
They wanted him to perform a christmas song for the finale, as crazy as it sounds there was a lot of pressure and his manager and his promoter were really angry that he insisted on this song.
Perfection.
Since we are on a Elvis run and you watched Bohemian rhapsody. Check out the Elvis movie "Elvis" it would get you more into his music, his personality, and the social problems back in the days.
I believe Elvis was greatly loved loved for his great humanity for all people. He cared for everyone. He had big heart. You can tell in his voice, what he sang came from his Soul...
I'm so glad that you reacted to this song! Tom Parker was such a jerk, took half his profits and manipulated him, and I believe I read that he was the reason Elvis couldn't travel outside the US to perform. You'll be blown away by the other performances in the 68 comeback special as well.
You're right. Parker did keep Elvis from leaving the states. Parker was in the U.S illegally. Parker knew if he left and tried to come back he could be deported. Elvis didn't know that. Parker was a con man
"Parker" was an alias (born Andreas Cornelia van Kujik) for a Dutch born illegal on the run as a murder suspect in his hometown. He couldn't leave the US because he couldn't get back in and he didn't want EP going without him for fear he would discover he was being cheated. Parker owed $$$$ in gambling debts. The record company was also discovered to be a part of the cheating scandal.
Parker was an illegal immigrant from Holland. He wouldn't have been allowed back after a world tour.
Research Reverend Bob Joyce. Witness Protection, DEA agent under Nixon. Misspell name on his graveside. So much
Tom Parker wasn’t as big of a jerk as people think or as the movie made him out to be but yes it was a toxic situation. You couldn’t tell Elvis to do anything. He was a very stubborn person and he could have gone overseas if he wanted but he didn’t because of a multitude of reasons but the old dusty Parker wasn’t all to blame
This whole comeback special 68 is very special.
Elvis is singing his heart out about inequalities, and how the world needs to change. A dedication to MLK’s. I have a dream And this guy is talking about cinematography and back up singers
I am 66 years old and grew up listening to Elvis. I feel that this is the most beautiful and moving song he ever sang other than his gospel music. Thank you for the heartfelt reaction.
I watched the special with my mother that night. I was 10 years old at the time. You can watch it. The best of Elvis in an intimate setting. Elvis pour his whole soul into that performance. Remember this is live with an orchestra.
You need to see the 2022 Elvis film. I’m still upset with how everyone did Elvis and contributed to his early demise. 😡😢
He was drafted in the army, and than he was under movie contracts,Elvis starred in 31 movies.
Also watch Suspicious Minds live from Las Vegas 1970. It’s epic!
Make sure you check out some young Elvis thanks for keeping Elvis alive.
The KING. love your reaction 💕💕💕💕
Elvis also arranged the music....he had music from his soul to his heart....
Elvis's story is simultaneously The American Dream and the American nightmare.
Yes both musi and vocals were what you needed back then hence unlike today all u need is a computer u don’t even need rap artists or rock artist just a composer
I was told the back up singers were crying. Elvis almost collapsed back stage after the song. MLK and Bobby Kennedy deaths really affected him
Watch Elvis and the Black Community to really get to hear what people thought of him. Its a beautiful tribute❤!
probably his most powerful performance from a emotion standpoint if you listen when he said thank you and goodnight he was out of breath, he put it all on that performance on stage. thank you for doing a great job there is hope in this world with people like you, god bless
About his backup singers..."The Sweet Inspirations" (Cissy Houston's group) weren't on The Comeback Special. There were both black & white singers & dancers on the show but Elvis didn't meet & employ The Sweet Inspirations until a year later in 1969 when he did his first performances in Las Vegas.
Cissy was with him only for about 3 months before she left The Sweet Inspirations to be home with her kids. The rest of the group stayed with Elvis for 8 years, right up until his death in 1977. They were with him on every tour (& he toured the country a lot!) & with him for every Vegas show, & of course rehearsals & recordings.
In many interviews over the years they've all talked about how much they loved him & how good he was to them. And even though Cissy Houston was only with him a few months she felt the same way.
There's a short video you should react to called "Elvis's Favorite Singer, Estelle Brown". She's the only one of the group still here & it's definitely worth hearing what she had to say.
Btw, I was fortunate enough to see Elvis in concert twice, in 1973 & 1974. His interaction with those wonderful & talented ladies was a highlight of the show. It was humorous & Elvis showed obvious respect & affection for them & his bandmembers.
The music was great & Elvis, 3 dimensional, living & breathing, was the most beautiful human being I've ever seen. Pictures don't do him justice. And his voice was pure & beautiful.
Looking forward to more of your reactions. You should react to "Trying To Get To You" from the '68 Comeback Special. It's Elvis having fun in a simple setting with old friends & bandmates from his early days.
💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙
Cissy was with the Sweet Inspirations backing Elvis for just five weeks in the summer of 1969.
The backup singers on this were The Blossoms I think. The Sweet Inspirations didn't start backing Elvis till he started playing Las Vegas.
The arrangement definitely was setting the stage for the lyrics..so great to hear it all appreciated! I would love to hear what you feel about “crooners” like Sinatra - stage presence oozed off of him!
Elvis..after being released from army..was thrown into making movies. He got sick of them and wanted to get back into performing in front of audiences. So it was called comeback to the fans!
Tom Jones and Elvis were very good friends! What a duo lol
There's a reason why they call him the King - no one will ever touch his gospel voice - EVER
Nothing gets past you! You are VERY observant! I think you would be an excellent producer.
This man was beyond amazing 💕💕💕
The hard part about Elvis movie is nobody could ever be a good looking and swagish like him.
It was Elvis' personal tribute to a man that Elvis admired so much.
Please react to: Elvis, Bridge Over Troubled Water, play the one that was "live" 1970...it will leave you breathless!!!!!
I believe Elvis was a good man. Flawed like we ALL are in various ways, admit it. He was kind. I have never heard anthing negative about him, before or after his death from others in ui
I lived in Memphis and was 10 years old, the whole city was in turmoil and shock. Elvis was really upset.
This song is also written about who the real Elvis is,all these words are related to Elvis too
Late to your party but grateful for your genuine & respe tful reaction. He eould hsve bern so honored by your kind words. Elvis was remarkable. His voice & music survive the test of time. Humble, & generous beyond measure not wanting any publicity. Stayed in Memphis with the comunity benefiting from his generosity.
He literally passed out from physical & emotional exhaustion after completing this song. He took a huge chance replacing the intended song with this song on top of his career hinging on the success of this comeback special. He could not read music but could play several instruments. Arranged a good portion of his recordings. Loved his musicians, backup
singers. Always got the best out of all of them. Watch his live performance& the command he had on stage & interaction with musicians especially his drummer. Elvis was so gifted. Nothing but the best for his fans. He always treated them with respect and love. He knew his fans made him successful and never forgot that. He always said he'd be nothing without their love & support. His music continues to inspire and for that we are most grateful.❤😊
Never stop this perfect performance by Elvis. It's the greatest song ever.
Never interrupt perfection
I remember watching this. I was 10. We all cried. I still cry. We all have to keep dreaming!
If you watch him enough you will see he direct what they do by his moves. He surround himself by the best because he was 5he greatest.
My upmost respect to you and I would be honored to be able to call you a friend
Love and respect to you Victor! And ALL subscribers are my FAMILY, not friends!
This is the best performance I’ve ever seen from Elvis
You can still meet Elvis today. The Graceland mansion is haunted by the soul of Elvis.
Cissy Houston and the Sweet Inspirations joined Elvis in Las Vegas in 1969 and remained with him till the end. Cissy left in late 1970 to be with her children.
Thank you for finally having this experience
ELVIS ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏 Love your reaction ❤🙏
This song gives me chills, a Beautiful song.
You should react to Elvis and the black community, to see his journey on how he made it. He's got the gospel, soul, and rock background.
Iconic.
The Sweet Inspirations were the female backup’s along with Cissy Houston. They were absolutely great!
Thank you for reacting to this song. I watched this live when it was broadcast back in 1968. Elvis and the back up singers and his orchestra were PERFECTION. You really should watch the entire special. He walked out to a small stage in black leather. He was so handsome. 👏👏🇨🇦
Yes, carol. He was very handsome! And very humble, very friendly, very very good showman, etc.! Who can sing like him? Nobody in the world! Never there is another elvis, we are lucky to have known him and his music... Elvis forever!💽🌸🌈🌹🎇💒❤
all the pain and tears in his eyes shows his feelings, respect the whole being of the man
I love that you are researching each song. Keep up the Elvis reactions. Love, love them. RIPElvis
MJ is the prince of pop - always - but Elvis is and will always be the King - always
Just so you're not confused, the special is two "sit down shows" which is Elvis casually performing and catching up with his band from the 50s The Blue Moon Boys and they're seated, a regular concert where it's just Elvis and he's standing and moving around, and a beatnik artistic section that's heavy on the visuals.
Bill Black had died three years prior. Bill, Scotty and Elvis were known as the Blue Moon Boys for a time.
The Elvis movie was fantastic!!! Austin Butler was phenomenal!!!! I hope you went to see it. I saw it 43 times at the theatre!
@@janicesmith1115 So depending on where live you spent around $500.00 on tickets alone. You better not complain about the rising of gas and groceries.
@@timcarr6401 our theatre cost $5 on tuesdays & I got to know the manager so she’d let me in for free. On tuesdays I’d pay the $5 but watch 3 showings. What does going to the movie have to do with gas prices & inflation?
@@janicesmith1115 Such wasteful spending in these harrowing times is a sign of being impractical and excessive. Did it cross your mind that you are off the deep end by watching it 43 times? You'll probably watch it another hundred or so times before you're 30.
Elvis kind of wrote this song. He told Earl Brown, the guy who wrote it for Elvis, what to write down then put it into lyrics and music. Steve Binder the producer confirmed it.
To me this song is Elvis the man, the human.
I completely agree so simple the way the background is set, but for Elvis it’s perfect.
Amazing RIP MLK AND ELVIS ❤
You have just witnessed a devastated Elvis singing out his soul to honor his assassinated friends, Dr. Martin Luther King, and Senator Bobby Kennedy who was also a fierce fighter for human rights and equality. Watch the video "Elvis Presley and the Black Community" and that will give you an good idea of how Elvis fought his heart out for the innocent downtrodden.. He grew up dirt poor and hung out with African Americans who loved him as much as he loved them. He was a force for good, and it hurts to see him called a racist. He was a courageous fighter all of this life. I love that man.
And Sen Kennedy....it was supposed to be a Christmas special. He hadn't performed live for almost 10 years. It was only called come back after the fact...
Back when commercial TV didn't suck
