Hello friends! A quick step by step of how I add the missing roof rail on the new Camaro kits. There are several ways to accomplish this task. This way is the easiest to me!
Still yet to get these into the country, one to file away when I do get there…great to hear the commentary as you go, makes it easier for us old guys😁😁😁
Examine EVERY part. They're having QC issues, just like this roof rail missing. Two of the 3 floors I've had were significantly warped, one beyond being usable or fixable. However, JR has taken care of it, no questions asked.
This was the strategy I was thinking about trying when I finally get around to building a NextGen kit. Thanks for confirming it works great, and knowing what thickness plastic to use definitely makes my life easier!
I actually had to grab my kit and double check because I could not believe that roof rail was missing.... But it is and I didn't even notice. Thanks for the tip!!
Great tip. Was thinking of the same type of process and this confirms that it'll work and gives me the right thickness plastic to use. AND Thanks for adding the voiceover/narration to the video....i think it definitely helps with fully understanding the process and steps
Thanks for watching....I understand your frustration, but I try to look at the positives. I think it is so cool that we are able to be watching a race, and pull out a kit of a car that is actually out there and build it at the same time. I can't remember how long it has been since we had that chance. So I will gladly tweak a few things here and there.
Used to have to add roof rails to almost all of my Starter 1/43 NASCAR kits. I did it almost like this but I used to cut a channel with the razor saw to give the rail something a little more to glue to. But that was a much smaller rail too.
Nice work, I haven't gotten any of my new ones yet because i buy several difierent kits at one time so my buddy just sends me numerous kits in one big case to save on shipping
Hi Clay, was the 2 stage airbrush you use made by Masters? I have both single and also 2 stage Pasche air brushes. Both are old, contemplating buying a new 2 stage. Are you sa satisfied with your airbrush? Also looking at 5star brand automotive clear and hardner.
I've bought several of them off of ebay. One I had quit pretty fast on me. Just wouldn't spray. But I spent like $30 on it, so I wasn't too upset. But the first one I got has been a great pick up. It came with three sizes of needles and tips and a hose.
Love your work. You next gen nascars at the end of the video are amazing. What clear did you use on the jr salvino next gen nascar decals? I saw that the tamiya clear didnt react well with those decals
@@ClayKemp Im sorry..so the name of the clear you use is Omni? Or is it Nason? Im a bit confused. Id like to know the brand name so i can buy that clear.

We’re all old together buddy! 😄
Perfect video, as usual.
All I want for Christmas is a full build video of the Next Gen Salvinos. Cheers!
I second this!
Hear hear!
Outstanding my friend!! I haven't started a Nex Gen yet but I'll be using this tip for sure! Thanks!
Thank you buddy!

Great tip, I am working on my first Next Gen car and using .020 x .030 to match the width and height. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Great addition Clay! Glad to hear you talk through the process. Was begining to think you were too shy to speak in your own videos.😁
Thanks James. I am! But I’m trying to make better and more informative videos. Hopefully this will make them easier to follow! Thanks for watching.
Details…details…nice to hear your voice on a vid clay…thanks for the tips
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice quick tip. I’ve heard a lot of people using angle bracket. I’ll pass it along.👍👍
Another GREAT vid!!! 👍👍🙂
You make everything look so easy!
Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing

Glad you liked it. I’m trying to get better at my presentation. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Thanks for the tip on this one. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing. It's so sad to see such a great kit with so many obvious issues like this. Nicely done.

@@ClayKemp. Me too! I have 3 of their kits myself. And they are much better than the other "brands".

Love this channel , thank you for the content Clay Kemp! Can anyone recommend a decent cheap rotary tool (polishing /sanding)? Appreciate the insight
Nice review and fix but wondering for what is that for the riel on the top of this cars what they do???

Where you get your sanding pads from.. thanks for the tips
I buy those in several grit packs off of ebay. They are made by Norton.
Who makes the sanding sponges you use in your videos? I have yet to find any that I really like.
These are made by Norton. I get them in small square packs off of ebay. There are several grits. They work great for doing body prep work on models.

I always use a 2 part clear. These have Omni or Nason clear. It is completely safe over decals typically.

What blue did you use on the stenhouse car ?i was thinking of using pure blue
That one was built by my son. I stole it for more reference. 😄 I believe he used Tamiya TS44 blue.
Can you make a full brass chassis replica of this car????
Just out of curiosity, why do you use super glue instead of cement?
It dries so much faster and more solid. I can work faster if I'm not waiting on glue to dry.
epic
what about the missing dash covering
