it honestly fucking sucks - i cant keep up with 6 sets year plus a massive long running set. i should honestly just stick to pioneer/explorer at this point
A lot of reprints though, so if you've been playing a while it's not that bad. And when Pioneer finally comes to arena we have a real format where you don't need many new cards each set.
Favorite part of the channel is the fact that Seth speculates how mid level or underpowered cards are going to be used in standard or commander. It’s really great insight for people who don’t have the money to just get the best cards.
On the Preposterous Proportions argument that you should just play Craterhoof…I gotta say I wish people would stop saying these sorts of things. Staples in commander are what chip away at the spirit of the format IMO. If enough people quit trying to “min-max” their decks and focus on doing more unique/fun things I think they’d enjoy the format a lot more. Reducing the number of “staples” in our decks has made my playgroup enjoy our decks and play sessions a lot more. Of course, I’m excluding CEDH in this comment - but that’s a whole different topic.
Is the Starter Set legal in Standard and even Pioneer? Or is the only legal set the Actual Foundation set? Yes, I know the Jumpstart Set is only legal in external Formats…… But, the….. some of the Reprints are pretty Food….
Soul Weaver can just be a good, above-stat creature that allows one to refill against board wipes. It has REACH. The times I've perished to flyers is vewy sad.
Every channel I have watched has underestimated Preposterous Proportions. This card ends the game. If 2 creatures go unblocked game over. Even if they do block it is a one sided board wipe and puts your opponent at low life if even 1 gets through. It is good when you are behind on the board too. Vigilance means they can't just attack you back if you fail to kill them. So if you are ahead it is game over. If you are even on board they lose their board and you keep your's (likely win the game). If you are behind it evens the board back up with no risk to you. This is also not even considering flying, trample and double strike that is running all over the place.
I am not falling for wizard's reprint new card crap. I will not participate in this and will lose no money to this. I much rather spend on supplements and invest time into gym.😅
1:51 Haha, it has 7 keywords. Wait, not "haha" more like WTF? 5:33 I can't help but think I'd prefer these 2 abilities on different cards. 11:00 Threshold in the Core Set is still bad. This is fine otherwise. 14:00 It's no overrun. But it's darn close. 17:00 Stop doing this kind of thing WOTC. Just stop. 19:00 Neat ability. Oh, on a splashable non-legendary that's above rate? God damn it WOTC. 22:00 Bloomburrow's (U) is a better design and more useful in limited. Fail. 25:00 No. Why does the Core Set have multiple (R)/(M) Vampires. We only need one, and this isn't it.
Kiora has to hold the record for the most cards while having the least impact on the story.
With Maze's End, don't forget Vinelasher and Pillage the Bog also exist, so combined with Lumra, that's three different wincons.
Ridiculous number of cards in the set means you better have a ridiculous number of wild cards ready, Arena player.

foundations rotates when?
you've time
My way to try keeping the path is having almost 1 mythic wildcard, 1 rare and 8.000 coins at least
@@evilotto9200 Worry not, now you also have one more set in Standard.
29:46 Anyone else hear "Massacre Girl, Gnome Killer"?
3:06 One day this urborg lhurgoyf might work. One day.
Favorite part of the channel is the fact that Seth speculates how mid level or underpowered cards are going to be used in standard or commander. It’s really great insight for people who don’t have the money to just get the best cards.
Three tree city might finally have a chance to shine
14:10 the call back in the flavor text to the messed up lemures art if fun
I'm so sad we didn't get Wizard's Lighting with Viashino Pyromancer and Ghitu Lavamancer
High-society hunter is cracked. It's going straight into my Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher deck
Celestial armor with nahiris resolve! Every upkeep make a different creatures indestructible, flying, and hexproof.
Preposterous Proportions is an amazing card just for the borderless flavor text. I don't know how you failed to mention that.
Oh no! Cedric back to commentary and Harbinger of Tides back? Are we in for more Har-BING-er of Tides!? lmao
The seven Eldrazi has 7 keywords, costs 7 and is 7/7. Awesome. I bet favourite movie of guy who designed it is Se7en. Btw cool movie, watch it.
4:31 French Vanilla
Leyline axe with Quilled Greatwurm seems funny. There’s probably a better way to get double strike but I want leyline axe to be useful so bad haha
celestil armor is very similar to maul of the skyclaves, which saw a lot of play in mono W when it was in standard so i wouldn't sleep on it
angelic destiny is a banger ^^
HOLY ANGELS GUIDE MY WAY
Take a shot whenever Sunfall is mentioned....

34:58 as a modern merfolk player I feel attacked and seen at the same time
Only half a year left for Sunfall. Fingers crossed for no new exile wrath (or at least a worse one).
Banner of kinship might just be great in elves even in standard,
Do we know if them adding "of their choice" to the text of sacrifice effects is just a Foundations thing, or if that's the new standard?
Henzie loves soul weaver, but it competes with him in cmc 3 slot
Is the Starter Set legal in Standard and even Pioneer? Or is the only legal set the Actual Foundation set? Yes, I know the Jumpstart Set is only legal in external Formats…… But, the….. some of the Reprints are pretty Food….
Not talking about Crystal Barricade :(
Reprint Rancor, cowards!
Throw some boots on that Eldrazi.
Shhhh i picked up my set of Scavengers before i saw the card and only "7 keyword creature" coming 😅
Again Eldrazi without needing direct colorless mana SUCKS.
Seth, how come you haven't talked about Twinflame Tyrant?
Sire is tron mana.
starting to think foundation's purpose is to curate standard brawl
now just give me Loxodon Smiter on Arena! :(
40:12 I remember when reckoner bank buster was mazemind tome at home 🥲
Green hasn't been good in standard? LOL GB was one of the best decks for awhile.
They put MORE Eldrazi? They just put those out. NEED more slivers. We got jiped in MH2.
Slivers in Foundations?
@RasmusVJS Eldrazi in Foundations?
@@dylankramer9249 Slivers need other Slivers to work. Eldrazi don't.

What if you had a deck with 4 soul weavers and only one other creature... i smell a combo
Seth casual what? 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Standard is getting to much power creep
*laughs in Modern Horizons 2*
Feels almost like Modern from years past. It's gotten crazy fast.
This huge new card pool that's legal for at least 5 years is almost a guaranteed attempt by wizards to make standard a stronger format
Nah lmao most of foundations has seemed underpowered
I’ll be honest… most the cards here seem pretty tame
First
Can confirm. This guy was first.
Seth, two words: preposterous fling
Seriously…enough with the Sunfall. I mean jeeezzz! It’s not like its a colorless card that can go in EVERY deck.
I am not falling for wizard's reprint new card crap. I will not participate in this and will lose no money to this. I much rather spend on supplements and invest time into gym.😅
Cool
Cool story bro, definitely something we needed to hear.
