- So, we have confirmation that Nintendo and Illumination are moving ahead with their Nintendo cinematic universe. Or at least Super Mario universe. And so, today I wanna talk about that, and also discuss their plan to make The Legend of Zelda alongside Sony. Enjoy.

Having Luigi be the one that Mario has to rescue instead of Peach was an inspired choice in the first movie, but they definitely need to keep the brothers together next time around.
Or have Mario be the damsel where King Boo captures him, the third movie(if the second makes enough money for a third one)can have them stay together.

Well whatever the Super Mario bros movie 2 is going to be about, one thing is for sure: If Yoshi is it, it will be a great sequel. Also Yoshi is one of my favorite characters so I’m looking forward to seeing him.
I’m honestly hoping Peach’s character is fixed in the second movie. She really wasn’t the Peach we remember. She was honestly kinda a Mary Sue. Hopefully they show her more kind but flawed nature in the second movie.
Also if other characters appear like Toadette or Daisy.
For Daisy I feel like Ashleigh Ball would work perfectly. She has played tomboyish characters before like Rainbow Dash and Tails.
For Toadette. I feel like either Andrea Libmin would work well. That or maybe Grey Griffin.
Out of curiosity, not like the Peach we remember in what way? I’d say her characterization was good.

@@foxpokemonforever4775 She was more like Daisy than Peach lol. The video game Peach would have immediately accepted Mario's help without asking him to do any training montage, and movie Peach is also much more sassy and whatnot than Game Peach. Game Peach is KIND OF like that in the Paper Mario games, but not nearly as much as in the movie. I wouldn't say she was a total girlboss tho. Also Game Peach is overall nicer and kinder whereas movie Peach was presented as some badass, kind yet bossy and sassy person. Also Game Peach wouldn't put Bowser in a cage, she'd see that as cruel. If the characters were in character, what probably would have actually happened would be just DK grabbing Bowser by the tail, swinging him around and throwing him god knows where at the end of the film instead of Peach shoving a mini mushroom in his mouth.
Tho to be honest a lot of characters acted differently than their game counterparts. Just look at Cranky Kong.
If we ever get Wario in the movies I want him to be introduced as the ceo of WarioWare inc who wants to capitalize on the Mario brothers recent fame by making cheap games and in turn seizes ownership of the Mario brothers name.
Just gimme Rosalina on the big screen and I’ll be happy
I’m hoping the sequel takes inspiration from Mario RPG for its plot, it would be great to see Mario and Luigi having an unlikely team up with Bowser to take down the Smithy and his Gang, it would also be interesting to explore more of Princess Peach past too and to see where she originally came from similar to Madagascar 2 or Kung Fu Panda 2, hell maybe you can change Smity for a bit by having him being connected to Princess peach past.
As for Legend of Zelda I feel like it can still work as a movie but not in live action, Hugh missed opportunity to not have Dreamworks Animation doing it as it would’ve been awesome to see a Zelda movie in the same animation style as Puss In Boots The Last Wish, still I do hope Dreamworks does get to make a movie based on a Nintendo IP.
Giving how much cash it made at the worldwide box office, of course it's getting a whole franchise! I bet it's gonna focus totally on Yoshi
I'm excited for this! I'm hoping we get better pacing and storytelling but I'm hyped for the most part. I really wanna see Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, maybe Toadette and Rosalina and of course Yoshi!

I’m honestly hoping they fix Peaches character in the second movie. Since she was kinda a Mary Sue in the first one. And not the kind but flawed Peach we know so well.
I wouldn't call her a Mary Sue but I do wish her personality was closer to what it is in the games.

I hope the next movie references the other Mario series and games like maybe they go into space and we have a super mario galaxy reference or maybe there’s a haunted mansion for a luigi’s mansion reference there’s so many different places that could be explored in this new movie

Well, I think that the next movie should be based off of Super Mario World and I think the end of the movie set that up with the post-credits reveal.
A Yoshi egg appeared in the tunnel and even gave his little cry, so he's definitely going to be in the film. But, in addition to Yoshi, the Koopa Kids need to come back and they NEED to have the personalities they had in the 80's cartoon series. They were individualized, memorable, and had big personality types. I don't want Baby Bowser, I want the Koopa Kids. I think they rescue their dad and try to reclaim the Mushroom Kingdom, but will threaten Yoshi's Island in the process. I'd be all over that.
I wouldn't be interested in a Luigi's Mansion movie and I think that's why they showcased it in the first film. It's just not interesting. It's dark, and melancholy, and Luigi is terrified throughout the entire thing. I just couldn't be bothered. Keep the brothers together ESPECIALLY since they were apart for most of the original. Let them go on an adventure together with the team.
On the timeline, Super Mario World is next in line and they already set it up for that, so I think they should stick with it. They introduced us to a bright, colorful world that can be further explored. Let the Koopas have the dark side and it will be just enough to balance the whole thing. 😊
With regards to you being against Luigi's Mansion, you simply lack imagination.
Should make the rpgs (Mario and Luigi) as Movie, if that is possible or 64 (the remake) is a cool new fan 3d animation wich is sick you have to watch it
A yoshi movie, wario tries to get ritch movie, daiseys kigdom + other, flower game, odysee as a finale, Galaxy, a true Mariokart or party movie, golf tennis basketball, Captaine Toad Treasure Mod him exploring the world or our (Marios) world
A crazy olympic + winter olympic Sonic movie (fuse both movie universes together), only when no Ideas left or as a joke like fusing all nintendo ips into one world so the smash brawl could happen and later all francise join this world to (invited meme)
And the most important a hiest movie with Luigi gambling

I'm honestly more excited about the thousand year door remake.
Miyamoto, having been used to reading criticism and taking it on board for sequels, will do the same here. It's been unanimously agreed that sidelining Luigi was a bad move. Therefore, as damage control, he'll have equal screentime to Mario.
Peach will still have an active role, though. I can see Illumination making Mario, Luigi and Peach their answer to the Harry Potter trio. Toad and DK will have significantly diminished roles. Toad will stay at home to protect the castle while DK may only be namedropped and not physically appear. To make up for this, he'll get a spinoff movie.
The fact that Mario and Luigi are going on a buddy adventure together already means this is better than the first movie.
The fact that they want this to be entirely disconnected from the first one is kind of a red flag... Its clear that this is likely direct interference from Miyamoto or something, since that's what the _games_ are like. They never have a continuous story across multiple games. But the thing is, these are MOVIES, _not games. They can't follow the same rules and expect it to work. People will expect another Mario Movie to follow right after the first one as if it never happened. Then again, it managed to work the first time... I'm just a little worried that unless they pull it off expertly, this won't be as successful as they expect it to be.
Also if Daisy or Toadette appear in the second movie.

I think Anna Kendrick would be more suitable for Daisy's voice.

The second movie should be more development with the brothers and discovering Peach’s origin story. Then at the very end Mario is missing and the after credits you get an iconic Boo. Which would lead into a Luigi Mansion as the end. With Bowser being a helpful sidekick/hinderance of some sort.
I think that the next movie will be either a Donkey Kong Country movie, Captain Toad movie, Luigi's Mansion movie, or a Super Mario World movie

For the antagonist you mention the Koopapolings but you did not mention Bowser JR. For me Bowser JUNIOR can really be an interesting vilain !
Well, actually, they didn't say it was going to be a film in the world of Super Mario Bros. They said based on the world of Super Mario Bros. And the CEO of illumination did say that they will be returning to Super Mario Bros in this film. But the reason that I think that this film would probably be a sequel is because I just feel that it would be too early to already make a spin-off right after the first movie.And even though this new film isn't coming till 2 more years.I just feel that it's not necessary to already start on a spin-off right after the first movie.And because I think that Because of that secret ending with the Yoshi egg and many other reasons. I think that a sequel is much needed

I loved this film! I think the second movie should introduce Wario and Waluigi as a type of Harry and Marv duo and maybe have them be the villains along with the remaining Koopas, then a third film where they introduce the Galaxy storyline while introducing Rosalina and bringing back Bowser as a major threat, this time he’s back bigger and badder and he’s no longer simping for Peach (I don’t think they should retread that plot line) maybe by the end Mario and Peach get married, he befriends Rosalina, and Luigi

Yoshi's appearance in future films was hinted at in the post-credits. So chances are we'll be seeing that little dinosaur at some point.
I'm actually excited for Super Mario Bros. 2, because growing up as a kid, I played the game on my gameboy, so I'm familiar with them and stuff, and I think this just me, though I think the cast was perfect, the story, the plot line, what was gonna happen, I think it was all perfect that's just me

I feel like the best way to handle the franchise is starting off with the classic story as we did, feature Bowser Jr. as the main villain of the second movie. And then have the third movie focus on Mario Party, Kart, and Sports with Waluigi and Wario are duel antagonists, while Daisy is your spotlight hero for that movie. And a fourth movie would be introducing a Galaxy storyline and introduce Rosalina as your secondary protagonist.

Donkey Kong in the Mario movie yelled at Mario I'm not a monkey that only smashes things. Maybe the Donkey Kong movie is about Donkey Kong learning to use his brains instead of his fists. And then use that to save the Kongs

Guys, I'll be honest, I didn't like the previous Mario movie. The situations happened too fast, - just like when Mario and Toad gained Peach's trust - there was little verbal dialogue, the story was basic, and the ending was flat, and I'm more of Sonic the Hedgehog. So, based on these, I will not watch the sequel, and I will stand by my decision.

I’m a bit worried about the Zelda movie. I just don’t see how they’ll make Links character in a good way. Will he talk? I’m assuming he will and how are they going to make him? I still have nightmares about the “Well excuuuuuse me, princess” version of Link.
