Bro i like your youtube stuff way better than ig. lot of the breakdowns on this didn't really offer the vertical adjustment that you're doing around 4 min, but no matter what i'm doing the vertical balance is still pitching forward which could be why i'm having trouble wiht the arm
Hey dude! You are the man, you’ve helped my rigging so much! Could you make a “how to float” video or even series? I got the float but I would love to see how to get crazy with it
Thanks for the tutorial, i just got a float but don't have the pendulum yet, i assume its the only way toget the balance in any position that way right?
Greetings, very good video, I have always borrowed some tricks from you and although one always ends up making it his, I saw that you changed the manfroto for a type of Arca I am curious it is Arca to Nato I have curiosity
Yes you're right I don't have four-way adjustment on top anymore there is no need for it with the battery pendulum. This video was made before I change that. If you look at my recent videos I talk about my manfrotto modification. All the parts also listed in description of the video. I will soon post a video about how I did it. But just in case you don't have time to wait you have to take the top of the float clamp off and turn it counterclockwise one time so that handle faces down when float in horizontal. That way low profile nato rail slides into its sideways. Then you have to convert 3/8 holes into 1/4-20 Then you simply align the holes and screw the man photo quick release. I also provided 3/8 screws in the link for the plate that would go into your gimbal. You're now going to use perfectly centered 3/8 holes. With this modification you bring your gimbal closer to the Post and also getting rid of that Gap.
thanks for this. im building it next week. one question.... how much do you trust the adjustable macro plate to hold the pendulum battery? its very secure?
I got the default TILTA FLOAT V-MOUNT adapter with 2 of the same V-MOUNT batteries and just bought DIGITAL FOTO Pendulum, will try tomorrow and see if it works. TILTA FLOAT was all over the place with default accessories. Even with near perfectly balanced Gimbal.
Thanks to your tutorial and gear sharing my tilta float is getting better. May I ask you one thing? What kind of fixing device has two knobs instead of NATO rail where the gimbal and carbon rod are connected? Thanks for the link to where you bought it.
@@camerariggingmods9667 Haha I don't know English well, so I'm using Google Translate. I wonder what is the device that combines the gimbal and the rod in your video 3:32. I'm also very uncomfortable with that part, so I want to change it comfortably.
@@qoolboot3972 since this video I did a little different modification on top of my float. I turned the top nato rail clamp sideways and modified it to use it with manfrotto. Have a little video explaining this above in my channel.

Hey bro, love your work. I’ve tried to recreate this battery pendulum you have here. I made the camera rig a lot heavier with extra mods so I could get the vertical balance and have the side arm connection point higher up but now the RS3 Pro screen always tilts to the right. If I adjust the battery pendulum to compensate this then the vertical balance is off. Is there a way to do this without the 4-way adjustment between RS3 and the top part f the Float post? As you said you don’t use it anymore.
That sounds interesting, is there any chance you can show me a video of what's going on? If you follow Tilta ecosystem page or camera rigging mods page on Facebook upload the video and tag me I would love to help you
@@camerariggingmods9667 I will do that asap. I should also say that my 2 v mount batteries are the same brand, and size but different capacity so there’s a weight difference of 50grams. The weird thing is that it’s tilting to the side with the lighter battery. 🤪

When I perfectly stabelize the float in the horizontal possition and move if back upright in vertical possition its way off and tilts font or back. when i stabelize the horizontal the vertical gets messed up! why?
I need some help with this too. I am using the stock pendulum attached to the vmount plate and i dont know if its a lack of pendulum weight on the bottom. Need some help!
I've been following your videos (amazing stuff) but I think I'm doing something fundamentally wrong. In horizontal I'm balanced 50/50 but when I put it vertical (Steadicam mode) it wants to return back to horizontal. Any thoughts? Thank you much for your help!
So if you have a stock version they designed to return in to its mutually balanced state, for example if you balanced it in horizontal mode it will go back into it, If you balance it in vertical mode you'll return into vertical. Would you see in my video is DIY modified tilta float with what I call battery pendulum. So basically I took the heaviest in the rear of the rig and turned it into the pendulum. If you not sure would pendulum does it's very simple. It rotates as the rig moves up and down redistributing the weight of the rig in the manner where bottom becomes heavier once in vertical and lighter once in horizontal allowing you to keep the rig in any desired position because it has neutralized center of gravity, but it only works with a pendulum. You can also adjust to you liking where it will always return into neutral position but with a much slower speed.
This is a great explanation of how the pendulum works. I found my problem after going over your balance videos. I had to re-balance the vertical properly and now everything's as it should be. By the way, I do use your battery pendulum. That and another five mods you've done. I feel like I really should be paying for your work. Brilliant!@@camerariggingmods9667
So the way I have my system right now is I got 4 way adjustment on the buttom and 2 way adjustment on the top. I like to Center everything first the best I can and when and when I am in vertical position I see which way it's falling right or left then I go to the top and do small adjustment.
@@mkpromotive5104 oh am sorry lol it's Tilta pass through plate, it allows you to have a battery right under your camera with two p-tap ports and two 2 pin lemon ports
when I balance it vertically, and then I put it horizontally I lose the center of the sled, I rotate it to the right and it does not return to the center, the same when I rotate it to the left, it is driving me crazy !!!! if I balance it in the horizontal I don't have the vertical structure, and I have to re-balance it then I put it back in the horizontal and it becomes a mess again! it seems like an endless game

Yes. Because it works better with rs2. And comes with remote. Also it's more modular and the arm clips behind you back and not on front.
