@8golftango this technique applies to any mpc and any software program. you sample in Stereo and seperate the left from the right channel and you layer them on top of each other and you filter them both differently and seperate levels.
Yo, you opened my eyes up to why sampling the drums in stereo is beneficial.
I appreciate you using your time to give away these secrets of sampling,
Keep these coming...
BTW your beats chitty chitty bang bang... You crazy on the MP.... Respect Kid...
deuces I'm still tripping off of this.....

@Airek2007 yes you seperate the one same kick or snare etc and tweak them individually and then layer them on top of each other to play at the same time.
@iromeku they will be sent out as mono hits to the daw but layered on top of each other as opposed to the left channel only being sent out of the left speaker. they will be both recorded as one but layered on top of each other. watch the video and try it for yourself. it comes with a download. thats the whole point of it fam.

ANOTHER TIP: layer the chop drums over the original drum break loop, to give it a realist and live feel. M-PHAZES technique
phenomena17 m-phazes the fukn man 👊
awesome video! it's cool how in-depth you can go into something like chopping drums haha
i apply this same logic to maschine and it works you just have to play around with the panning and eq and pitch your drums actually, with the maschine its easy after you learn the layout of where everything is just like he does on his MPC although it looks hella confusing on that thing. but i still prefer to buy an 2000xl someday thanks for the tips anyway man it helped me even though im on maschine
I got one fairly recently (an MPC 500). Best thing Ive bought in ages, great fun to use.
This is an incredibly helpful bro thanks alot! Your beats are sic too!
thank you that you share your tips.
that helps me. great video!
Good stuff man, thanks for sharing.
Man, you added about $20k in ink since this video was made
I like the beat bro. Good work.
Dope video, bro!
@dubsbanger thanks for the super quick reply.
A couple of questions: Stereo seperate is making them mono? Are you layering the mono and the stereo drums together? and with the frequency is that a 12db or 24 db low pass filter you're filtering with?
this helped so much. you're a fucking pro also, awesome to see you work so fast on an mpc
If you guys still looking for break beat its call Bazuka - Dynomite 1975 just transpose it up 2 and set bpm to 102 and you're set.
Hi Dubs, loving your videos, just recently got an MPC and keep coming back to your videos for inspiration. I can find one other tutorial on your website apart from this on on 'how to sample and make beats', but it's a dead link, anywhere I can still find it?
+Conor Mills i took it down i wasnt feelin the video with the overall quality of it... its hard to make a tutorial on sampling so in my weekly beat videos i try to spit as much knowledge as i can and apply it to the beat making process so everyone can understand...
You got skills , thanks man
Great tut! How is that Konnekt 6 treating you? Did you record vocals through it?
It's L or R Mono, layering, and filtering makes hell of difference.
Dope techniques!!!🔥🔥🔥
nice work, really apreciate it.
but how do you edit the sound without using the wheel?
amazing, thanks man
good work, a gift to the young'ins.
yo good looks as usual.
when you were in trim mode you were moving the higlighted field around really quickly, were you using the slider for that? I heard you could but haven't been able to do it
Hey Dubs Banger!
I was wondering if you could tell me a way to reproduce this workflow on Maschine (Native Instruments). Is there a method?
Greetings from Germany!!
beat at the end is dope mayne
great video! very useful
***** thank you glad you find it useful
yes it can, i sample drums in fl studio 10 all the time., i use edison.. just youtube it
NICE video!!!
what kind of vinyl player is that? been digesting your vids for a while keep it up mano
Technics 1200
Thanks men !
So you do you record the drums mono or stereo at first?
I don't know much about the effects on the MPC, but I would have added reverb to the drum arrangement, a very little amount of reverb so it would have a bit of a more natural sound to make up for the lack of vinyl artifacts. Other than that nice tutorial. Thumbs up for you.
Is this beat at the end on your soundcloud? If so, what's the name?
thanks man! i really want to be good at this mpd sampling shit, i look up to J DIlla one of the best! rip
this dude is the fastest trimmer i’ve ever seen
Great! Where can i find that drum break the link is not working
the Shift slider use for editing waveforms ''Very helpful'' most people i ask who have an Mpc don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Cool Vid
could you please make the other tutorial video public again?
can this be done on da 2000 classic, nice track by the way.
Nice tutorial! Also what turntable are you using?
+Reinteck stanton st.150
Excuse my ignorance, but why separate the two channels if they are both going to be sent out as mono hits to the DAW? What is the benefit of this as opposed to taking the kick with the higher frequency, layering it with itself and just filtering it? What is achieved by filtering 2 kicks with the LPF at different cutoffs as opposed to one?
how to do u eq the drums and make it louder before recording it into MPC??
on mpc 2500 you are talking about low pass filter changing freq to lower to make it sound Bampier right?
vash734 yes it should be the low pass filter. i'm unfamiliar with the mpc 2500
How do you save chop samples that's what I wanna know?
Hey bro..? Are u live??
hey were can i buy or find a roland tr 808 drum machine because i want to be a record producer and i'm 17
Ello mate, any chance of a re-up of the file on media fire?
Does Shift + fader work on mpc2500 for chopping also?
vash734 no idea if it does or not
would you reshare the drumbreak?
thanks.
Do you know how i can separate the sounds on the 1000?
Do you mix your beats on a D.A.W. too? or only on the MPC?
+Shea Smith i bounce them out to logic pro track by track
I know that Dubs is unavailable, but I really wish that download was working. smh.
Brother I Luv Your Style Of Choppin', But Two Thing I Need To Know, 1. Can You Do A Sample Chop Of The Dramatics-Beware Of Man, Its Right Up Your Alley Of Samplin', 2. Who Does Your Ink? Because He Or She Have A Madd Ass Hand Of Skillz. (Get A MPC Inked On You) Neeto!!!
Sick
very useful tutorial
Eric Hare glad you found it useful
why do u only record drums in mono...my mixer doesnt have that switch...would it be the same thing if i just pulled out one of the two inputs in the back of my mpc from the mixer?
+Alexander Papachristos no it wouldnt be the same... often when youre playing drums off of a record into the mixer to sample into your mpc/computer there are different sounds from the left speaker to the right speaker... when you hit mono it automatically overlaps the two sides into one so the drums become much louder and punchy... same with the snare and hi hat also... this can only be achieved with a mono switch... if you dont have one on the face of your mixer then check the back of your mixer almost all mixers have a mono switch...
Mpc 2500. Record Drums in stereo and convert them to mono. Easy...
it can be done in FLStudio?
i so want an mpc
jeez the way I do shit is completely different and more of a pain but is worth it at the end.. I use mix craft
how long have u been making beats?
IIsilentjokerII 12 years
Anyone know what this break is?
tight
What is the drum Break
Hey bro, what program you use to make beats ?

Where are you from? English doesn't sound like your first language.
I hate that the MPC Studio doesn't have the params menu and doesn't let you change the frequency, there is other stuff replacing it but I don't know how to work with it/it's impossible to get the same results with it.. Have been experimenting so long with it but just can't manipulate my drums really good with the Studio, to get the result I'd want.
+alexander look up some tutorials on drum compression and drum layering or drum equalizer for the mpc studio... is the studio stand alone or is it like a midi pad?
Dubs Banger Thanks for the advice! The studio is more of a midi pad thingy, connected thru usb and works with the MPC software but you can control everything thru the studio, which gives it the standalone kind of feeling.
*****
yeah so youre going to have to layer your drums through the equalizer plug-in in your daw... i would suggest putting each drum through a graphic equalizer so you can seperate the low end the mid range and the high end separately...
The filter section is in the program parameters tab on the studio.
Hi without tattoos is weird
so that download you listed leads to kanye and jay-z "that's my bitch" haha maybe it changed a few years later?
after using frequencythe drum kick sound like shit...if u use LP,HP,BP when u start talkin about removing sound of hi hat from kick...sorry no.stereo to mono is pro :)
