    You had me at 303 vinyl Sim compression, and crusher to emulate the metallic SP sound on the drums. Such a dope machine.

    Thank you for another great video, SP. Wow! When you applied that compression and 303 vinyl simulator, it made a huge difference. Blessings!

    Awesome! yeah it's easier with one shots, but what you get on this way sounds WAY more interesting!

    I watched your previous video, and wondered if you might do one like the one you just posted....sweet! I can see myself using both methods, but especially for drum breaks this one will be great so that I can spread the parts out like you did, and have more flexibility. Thanks for this; you do the best SP404 vids online, and they've really been helpful. Keep on!

    Great video man. You spoke to the exact issue a lot of new beat-makers (well me anyway) find in that chopping to quarter notes and then shifting tempo means you're "stuck" with whatever the drummer did on the 8th/16th notes in the tempo he/she was playing at originally. You do a good job on summing up the equation on whether to start with a drum chop first and fit samples to your preferred tempo or having found samples that work at a specific tempo and then needing to find drums to fit (the latter tends to push me toward one-shots, but I'd rather it didn't). I'm getting my first SP (a mk2) pretty soon, so will be hitting your channel hard for more tips like this (you mention the time-stretch feature in this video, so if you could do a few mins on that, it would be great). Cheers dude.

      How are you getting on with it - I’m finding it’s taking some time. It’s so different to working with a DAW I find. Still, I’ll keep at it and hopefully things will start making more sense in time. At the moment I’m just trying to get used to not being able to turn the darn metronome on without having to go into recording mode first!

    Love the vids, they’re my go to for everything sp 404. Quick question, is there a way to test drum sounds from the sd card while a pattern is playing? I keep getting “you must exit pattern mode”. Seems time consuming to keep loading sounds, play pattern, exit pattern, load more sounds. Thanks

      No worries man.
      303 comp:
      Comp 36
      Noise 0
      Flutter 0
      Isolator:
      L: 2.5
      M: -3.25
      H: 12

    I need to try to use drum breaks like this. What time stretching features on the sp are you referring too? Did you make a video about it?

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  2 роки тому +1

      You can time stretch as well as pitch so the drums will sound the same but at a different tempo. You do Usually end up with some additional artefacts on the sound though

    • @yohonthewolf
      @yohonthewolf 2 роки тому +1

    • @davidscott2095

      @@spvidz Sp, I assume you end up with more artifacts with pitching that you do with time strecthing. Is that about right?
