- Six people have been found dead in a luxury hotel suite in Thailand's capital, Bangkok.
Confusion and mystery have surrounded the grim discovery, with local media initially suggesting there had been a shooting at the five-star Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, but police later dismissed these reports and said there was no evidence of gunfire.
Instead, authorities are investigating whether the victims died of poisoning.
The deceased - three men and three women - were all Vietnamese nationals, and some had dual American citizenship, Thailand's prime minister said.

CCTV has been checked no one left after the room service staff left.
The room was also double-locked.

Yeah they're totally gonna tell people they have video of suspects. I bet they'll even announce the suspect before an arrest so they have a chance to run.
You can bet your lifesaver that Thai police checks CCTV first thing but they just keep quiet about it, this is homicide so police don't advertise!

I'm staying at the Grand Hyatt this week. Everything was extremely low-key yesterday; nobody said a word, but when I came back to the hotel at ~ 8:30pm, there was a lot of police and media in the hotel. Nobody asked for any identification or anything. Very sad; I feel sorry for the staff who discovered the bodies. Also, the way this was all made public with names and images posted online immediately even before the next-of-kin was able to be informed is absolutely disgusting.
their names got revealed means the hotel has no data protection policy.

The Viet deceased were the ones who poisoned to pay off their debts so why travel to Thailand is not safe. I think no matter which country This incident happens no one can prevent it from happening cus no one knows the future. At first, this incident was going to happen in Japan because the Viet perpetrator didn't get a visa. For me, The victim was the hotel owner and deceased creditor. If this incident happen in Japan will you say going to Japan is not safe? Pls watch the news before commenting something.

The 7th person flew back to her country on July 10th, so she was not a suspect.

Wow, sounds confusing. We should take all information regarding the identities cautiously for now, because the start of an investigation is when accurate data is the least likely to appear (not aimed at the Thai police specifically, it's true of any country). All we can do is to offer our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who passed. Time should give the full answers to this tragic mystery. 💔

A room service order around 1pm but food still covered in plastic wrap. Teacups photographed had no tea residue in photos. All were Vietnamese not Thai, so if it was a dispute why Thailand? Was the money really about the hospital or was the word hospital used as code for an illicit drug hub? They should not be too quick to close the investigation.
they were suppose to meet up in Japan but some of them cant get their visa so they change their plan and come to Thailand. they're still investigating. its on thai news all the time. they already caught the 7th person
If 5 victims matched guests who checked in and 1 doesn’t that leaves 2 guests who checked in unaccounted for. Since I am sure all guests have to show passport shouldn’t there currently be photos everywhere of the 2 other guests who will at least be wanted for questioning??
I'm sure the investigators will be looking out for that information and for the clues.
Seems to me they've been fairly efficient and sensible so far in this case so kudos to the Thai police.
Also should verify if unaccounted guests were really there at the check in time. If they weren't and they joined the party afterwards, they wouldn't necessarily have their identity checked by the hotel since they are simply guests.
Relax
The unknown person who didn't check-in and died could be their visitor. The other two check-in guests had disappeared so the police were investigating and probably looking for them.

hotel is supposed to have security cameras. It should be easy to check cameras to find out all people who entered and exited this room before 6 people died.

the report said they ordered room service on monday, after 1pm, and they were due to check out on tuesday...noon is normally the latest checkout time, to give housekeeping a chance to clean the room...that is when they found them, after noon on tuesday either by housekeeping staff, or reception checking why they had not vacated

so the journo on site says checkout was supposed to be tuesday (1min 50sec) but the desk jockey contradicts by saying monday (20sec mark)...I'd go with the journo on-site

Why Thai never report hotel's name within Thailand?

Only a few channels reported the hotel's name as most channel feared for a lawsuit.
But as more and more footage of the hotel's lobby shown more channels just spilled the name as most Thai viewers knew the place by that point.
Thai news are cowards and afraid of the country's strict defamation laws. They have also buried this case, not making it the main page header today, no doubt by instruction of the PM to avoid damage to tourism.
I have to say whilst the case itself is very mysterious the details being given, are in stark contrast, surprisingly, open and honest. Never expected so much detail to be given to the media by the Thai authorities that in itself is pretty bizarre too. 🤔
