Enemies will spawn as you approach a location. If it's not the Colossus, kill whatever spawns and make your way to the other spot.
Although this game didn't hold up so well I will admit I liked how they tried to incorporate cryptic monsters from actual Appalachian legends. The Wendigo are scary as f**k.

I have been loving wastelanders so far I restarted and I'm actually impressed how the world feels now it does not feel empty if they keep posting updates like this and add more NPCs quest and factions and a new endgame boss or two with plenty of new enemies I can surely say this Update was the big kick Fallout 76 needed to get on the right path to being a good fallout game
I've been a Fan since PS2 came out with Fallout. Watching Kevduit play Fallout76 is the reason I saved up and finally two months ago I was able to finally purchase PS4 to play Fallout76. I found lvl 100 Royale Pissed off Randy with his minions in the Cranberry Bog and tried my best to bring Players there. 18 invites, 18 declined. Ran out of ammo, four broken weapons, zero stimpacks. Randy is Worth the search..

I feel accomplished now much like the Sheep squatch when it first arrived, I found this thing first try. Somebody dropped a nuke in the area where you found yours I cliff dived over the edge landed and he spawned right in front of me, luckily I had a ledge right at his eye level and just kept Gatling gunning his ugly mug til he died, he could only use his blob weapon on me and I managed to keep my health up in between 500 round clips, but got the job done. Congrats on finding it.
You can actually just launch a nuke on one area, clear where the wendigo should spawn, fast travel away, wait ten minutes, return and you basically get a second chance. Rinse and repeat until you find it.
Found him the the red forest after scorch queen fight. I was picking flowers and would use VATS every once in a while to check my surroundings. Heard sounds and nearly shit myself when VATS picked up its arm/leg that I had thought was another flower tree five feet away from me. Everyone from scorch queen left, and I in no way had enough fire power to take on the bullet sponge, so I couched and got the hell out of there.
Well all that nukes and agonizing wait paid off. And the killing blow apparently is punching it. Then t-posing after to assert dominance. What a badass.

I got suuuuuper lucky. My first scorched earth quest ever. My brother and I were fighting the queen. Took her out. Heading back to his survival tent just outside the pink trees. Smack dab in the middle was Randall. And he was trapped in the center. So we only had to worry about the wendigos spawning on us, and his ranged attacks. Took a good 15 min. And lots of trading off heading back to the tent to hit up our stash but we managed to kill our first queen and Randall in one go.
