I just inherited my 92 year old Aunt's souvenir spoon collection so it will be interesting selling it off. I see many sterling pieces in the collection. I think it's more than 200 spoons!
I just recently joined the Facebook group after discovering your channel...👌🏼 I took your advice that I've been learning from the channel...👍🏼 I posted a picture in the Facebook group of a spoon and it's markings for help on identifying it's origins and value...💯✔
Another great BOLO video, Don! I know our goodwill has bags of silverware every so often. I will have to keep an eye out for those! And you answered my question about cleaning them. I guess they are just like coins. If you clean them they loose their value. Thanks again, Don!
Hi Professor 👨🏫👋 This video really threw me off when I looked up from my work and saw your long hair lol 😂 I’ve only seen your current videos so it was a bit of a shock lol 😂 Binge watching to learn as much as I can. Thx so much 😊
Beautiful spoons. I enjoyed seeing these small pieces of history! Thanks for educating us, the spoons are more collectible and valuable than forks or knives, good to know! Thanks, Don!
Your videos are pure gold, so much information, this is exactly what I'm looking for as an arbitrage seller on eBay and Amazon (sometimes). You cover all the details! I can see your channel getting many more subscribers if people understood how useful this information is. (If I studied and remembered every item you've covered, i could make enough to be well off just by doing basic surveying for an hour a day). 💯🙏👍
👍 I usually check out the spoons at TS but have not known what to look for. Thanks for the info! Would also like to know if BO or auction is better for these?
You're right that almost no one collects forks. My sterling spoons sell, but I have never sold a fork. Even 200 year old forks are only worth melt value.
I'm kind of new to the category of silver but will all sterling silver spoons have a hallmark of some kind on them? What is the best quick way to test if something is sterling silver? I found some elaborately designed spoons with no markings, they aren't magnetic but I'm not sure what else to try at this point.
thanks, I just found what I think might be a good spoon 🥄 . Im gonna post on the FB group, because the marks im having a bit of trouble with. Thanks for the excellent content
I have a spoon crown silver co. It was very dirty black and very soft when I I was cleaning the spoon it started to change color on me to gold . There's writing to small for me to read and I can't find information
Hey Bub I recently got into ebay. And I really dig all the information that you give to us. I have a question. I came across a gorham sterling silver - silverware set. plus others. So my question is. as black as they are. I shouldn't clean them and sell them? Or should I clean them and sell them. Which one would gather the most value out of the set?
Hi, I have a sterling silver spoon that has a date May 11,87 and initials LNJ e.w.button on the back I can't find any information on this spoon. Any help would be appreciated
Woah. The skin tone is scary. Is that the trouble you're talking about. I am following your lead on ebay business. I'm 71 and getting ready to mine the gold in my house. My kids will throw it in a garage sale and sell it for a nickle.
