She is Patty Loveless, another Country Music Hall of Famer. (On the track. The woman in the video is Matraca Berg, who wrote “Strawberry Wine.” Just a fun fact.) Patty and Vince are two of the greatest voices the genre has ever seen. They have soul like nobody’s business. And Vince also happens to be one the best songwriters and guitar players, in any genre. He won at least one Grammy for every year in the ‘90s. He’s currently a member of the Eagles. If you want to hear more, check out “I Still Believe in You.” Also, unless I’m missing it, it looks like you only reacted to the Home Free version of “Go Rest High on that Mountain.” If so, you must hear Vince do it.
He was in a band in the 80’s - I think it was Pure Prairie League. They had several hits, the best known of which is “Amie”, originally released in 1972 and rereleased in 1975. Vince joined the band in 1978, and that’s the version I know.
Vince is 66 and is now touring with the Eagles - one of their members died and Vince has replaced him. The harmonies he and Patti make are amazing. Same, too, for him and Reba.
Vince is another Oklahoma artist that popped on the scene in the late 80s with Garth Brooks, he is pretty awesome to see in concert, at least this family of Okies thinks so! If you did the Home Free cover of Go Rest High On That Mountain, the version Vince and Patty Loveless did at George Jones' tribute was so beautiful but even more difficult to listen to for me (it's a song he started writing when Keith Whitley passed, but he didn't complete it until his brother passed away). Patty instinctively knew when/if she needed to come in early, she just performed with him that often.
One of the most famous duos in all of country music, Vince Gill and Patti Lovless. If this doesn't make you feel something........... hmmmm, check for a pulse! Big of you to cover a genre you are not intimately familiar with, much respect brother. TY for sharing this, enjoyed your comments and enthusiasm.
That's Patty Loveless harmonizing with him. Check out their performance at George Jones's memorial service. They did Go Rest High on That Mountain and due to his emotions, she had to step in with some vocals. It's beautiful.
I believe this was Vince's first big hit, with Patty Loveless harmonizing. Two of my favorites! Vince is also an INCREDIBLE guitar player. Great reaction!
That is the amazing Patty Loveless . Talk about a voice , that's a rabbit hole worth going down . Her solo and duets . Vince Gill played with Pure Prarie League in the 70's , solo in the 80's until current . He has been sets in with the Eagles since Glenn Fryes passing
Vince Gill and Patty Loveless, have done many collaborations. Their voices together are amazing! Some of the best harmonizing you will ever hear! Love your reaction! And by the way, you have quite the voice yourself!
Omg you did an oldie Vince Gill. WOW didn't think you'd like this one. It's one of my favourites. And from the comments "I still believe in you." Miss you
Vince Gill has been around 1977, as a member of Pure Prairie League and their big hit, "Amie..." He has plenty of country hits and a whole lot of Grammys...
Watch his tribute to George Jones with Patty Loveless. So heart wrenching. She sang backup on this and was there with him for him during that emotional performance. Go Rest High On That Mountain. Written for his brother that died and sang at George Jones’s funeral. You won’t be sorry.
Vince is accepted by the greatest musicians as one of the greatest guitar players ever. Patty Loveless is also a hall of Fame voice and is either a niece or cousin to the great Loretta Lynn.
I've seen Vince Gill perform live many times and his voice is just as clear and amazing live you should check out Patty Loveless song You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive
My favorite songs from the incomparable Vince Gill are I Still Believe In You, Tryin’ To Get Over You, Whenever You Come Around, Say Hello, Look At Us, Don’t Let Our Love Start Slipping Away, One More Last Chance, and The Heart Won’t Lie (duet with Reba McEntire).
Vince Gill is an artist that has been around seems forever. No big ego- talented on instruments, some songs he backs up other singers and just loves the music. One I can’t stop listening to is a duet he did with Carrie underwoid featuring her vocals ‘How Great Thou Art’ the live performance at the cma girls night out several years back - 10? That one is amazing with Carrie’d vocald not of this world!
Gill is also one helluva guitarist. Maybe check out a CMA video episode from about 12 years featuring Vince and Sting together! Amazing jams. You sound pretty good yourself. Thanks for your reaction.
Vince was a Rocker in his earliest days, though with a country twang to it, with Pure Prairie League. They had a few good hits. Then he took the dive into full country and a solo career. He did the tour rounds for years with good success. Then everyone realized what a good guitar player he was. He began sitting in with other famous performers as a guest guitarist. Personally, I really like his voice and nobody wails like Vince can. He can pure break your heart when he gives you those high-octave painful wails. He "retired" for several years but I guess the music pulled him back in after Hell froze over and he's touring with the Eagles. Love the sound they make.
Vince Gill has probably done more duets with woman than anyone in country music EVER. His high harmonies are hard to match! He is also a top tier guitarist and songwriter! There’s a reason why he has won TWENTY ONE Grammy’s!
He's got a great standalone voice but this man can harmonize like you wouldn't believe. He adds so much to a song and often you don't even realize that he's singing. My jaw hit the floor when I read how many country songs that he is singing back up in and nobody ever knew and it is tons and tons of them. Pretty much Carrie Underwood's first 3 albums damn near every song had him singing back up. I never knew and you can't tell until you listen to it and actually try to hear it. But he's definitely in there. It is dozens of songs that he sings and that people don't even Know about.
YOU DID A COMPLETE TIM FOUST DOO WOP ALBUM REACTION. TIM HAS ANOTHER SOLO ALBUM HE RECORDED BEFORE JOINING HOME FREE CALLED "THE BEST THAT I COULD DO" (NOT ACAPELLA). FOUR OF THE TRACKS, HOME FREE DID ALREADY. BUT YOU CAN HEAR THEM SET TO MUSIC. I HAVE BOTH OF TIM'S ALBUMS AND EVERY HOME FREE ALBUMS TO DATE. ON ONE OF TIM'S NEW VIDEOS, HE MENTIONED HE IS WORKING ON VOLUME TWO OF PIECES OF ME.
Would love to see more reactions of solid country songs. I Still Believe In You by Vince. Would love to see a reaction to Randy Travis too, Deeper Than The Holler
Vince spent time filling in with the Beach Boys back in the day. He turned down an offer to join Dire Straits. He is considered to be one of the best guitar players active today. The lady in the video is Patty Lovelace, who he recorded this with along with other duets. He still does solo work, and has also joined the Eagles. His talent seems endless.
Everyone is talking about his voice, which is beautiful, but don't forget the man has some real guitar chops as well, check out the A&E version of Oklahoma Borderline
Funny story, as a young white mom trying to help my "new church youth pastor" guide the choir children what they were LACKING. I Literally later realized it was SOUL! Never realized I sang with it and and wanted it in my music until about 10 years ago! LOL! It was hard for me to explain it to them
You should react to one of the great blue eyed soul singers. Charlie Rich: Who Will the Next Fool Be, Midnite Blues, Since I fell for You, Feel Like Going Home (the demo version).
Charlie Rich is one of the great later Sun Record artists, after Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and Carl Perkins. Hard altså to follow!
The actual voice harmonizing with him is Patti Loveless. She was also singing with him on "Go Rest High on That Mountain".
@christineonea666 no it is not Patty. it is Matraca Berg.
@@robertrockwell7581 Matraca is in the video, but I thought it was Patti's BG vocals. I could be wrong...If I am, then so be it.
@@christineoneal666 Christine, you are correct it is Patti Loveless singing in the background, and Matraca Berg is in the video lip-syncing.
@@sillililli01 Yes!! Patty is doing the harmony; Matraca is in the video.
@@christineoneal666 You are correct....

Such a great voice. And an amazing guitar player.
They used an actress in the video but the backing vocals are by his good friend and legendary singer in her own right, Patty Loveless.
That man has an amazing voice even after all these years of listening he still gives me goosebumps
He was in a band in the 80’s - I think it was Pure Prairie League. They had several hits, the best known of which is “Amie”, originally released in 1972 and rereleased in 1975. Vince joined the band in 1978, and that’s the version I know.
He also sings with the Eagles.
He joined Pure Perry League back in 76 or 78
You could sing Country songs. You have a great voice.
One of the most beautiful voices in country. He wrote Go Test High On That Mountain. ❤❤❤❤He plays with the Eagles now. Hes in his 60’s.
"I Still Believe In You" is probably Vince's best song. "How Can I Help You To Say Goodbye" is a great Patty Loveless song to check out.
@rayu2005 Patty started singing with him later. but the girl in the video is Matraca Berg.
Patty's song kills me everytime I hear it.❤
Both are great!
@@robertrockwell7581 are you sure? It definitely sounds like Patty Loveless. I'm not talking about the video, but the actual audio of the video.
One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever recorded. Seems like yesterday….Where did the time go?❤
Vince is 66 and is now touring with the Eagles - one of their members died and Vince has replaced him. The harmonies he and Patti make are amazing. Same, too, for him and Reba.
I'm 64, omg, we need to shave 10 years off of this.
He has a beautiful voice!! I love it!!🔥🔥
Glad you reacted to him!! I hope you do some more of him!!👍👍👏👏
It's definitely the best voice in country music for me. I've been a fan for many years ❤🥰
Vince is so under reacted to, especially “go rest high on that mountain”. Thank you for this

Vince Gill hit the scene in the late 70s with the rock band Pure Prairie League. He was very well known before he ever decided to go country.
He has an AMAZING voice ❤
One of my favorite songs regardless of genre.
One of the most famous duos in all of country music, Vince Gill and Patti Lovless. If this doesn't make you feel something........... hmmmm, check for a pulse! That song still gives me chills. I fall in love with his voice every time I hear it. He and Don Henley are the best male vocalists ever.
The Guys sang his song Go Rest High on that mountain... Rob killed it!!!❤❤❤❤
Love Vince Gill and Patti Loveless together on this classic
The harmonies kill in this song.
That's Patty Loveless harmonizing with him. Check out their performance at George Jones's memorial service. They did Go Rest High on That Mountain and due to his emotions, she had to step in with some vocals. It's beautiful.
BEAUTIFUL ❤❤❤❤ LOVE VINCE GILL 🎉🎉🎉😊
My ABSOLUTE favorite singer of all time, im 62 now and remember when this came out , Vince put goosebumps on my arms then and still does today in 2024
I believe this was Vince's first big hit, with Patty Loveless harmonizing. Two of my favorites! Vince is also an INCREDIBLE guitar player. Great reaction!
If memory serves me right, this song was country song of the year.
That is the amazing Patty Loveless . Talk about a voice , that's a rabbit hole worth going down . Her solo and duets . Vince Gill played with Pure Prarie League in the 70's , solo in the 80's until current . He has been sets in with the Eagles since Glenn Fryes passing

Vince also has been touring and singing lead with the Eagles for the last couple of years now.
This is pure beauty. Nothing but.
Vince is 66a22time grammy winner this was hus first solo hit after moving to Nashville
She..is Patty Loveless
Real old style country ballad. What's called country music today is only CMINO, Country Music In Name Only.
Omg you did an oldie Vince Gill. WOW didn't think you'd like this one. It's one of my favourites. And from the comments "I still believe in you." Miss you
Those two have the most mesmerizing voices ever, good stuff and great reaction man!
Dude, I like that hat!
I really liked your reaction! So fun. Yeah he’s great.
Nick, you were shaking & bouncing in your chair just knowing you had to react to a country artist. 😂😂😂💜💜
I love it!
Vince Gill has been around 1977, as a member of Pure Prairie League and their big hit, "Amie..." He has plenty of country hits and a whole lot of Grammys...
Vince Gill actually around in the late 70 s with Pure Prairie League, Check out Amie by them, great song, great reaction

Love Vince. Amazing singer, songwriter, musician
Everyone has reacted to Go Rest High ... thank you for going deeper. The man has so many great & amazingly beautiful and fun songs.
Vince Gil has an amazing voice- just makes you melt
Beautiful..love Vince Gill.
Country music has elements of many styles.
Watch his tribute to George Jones with Patty Loveless. So heart wrenching. She sang backup on this and was there with him for him during that emotional performance. Go Rest High On That Mountain. Written for his brother that died and sang at George Jones’s funeral. You won’t be sorry.
First time in your channel but have to say that you have a pretty sweet voice. I heard you singin' along😮 nice!
I am 55 yrs old and have followed Vince for 30 years+ while milking cows on dairy farm... Love seeing you young guys covering this... Thank You Sir👍
He has such an amazing voice
Vince is now traveling with the Eagles
Vince is accepted by the greatest musicians as one of the greatest guitar players ever. Patty Loveless is also a hall of Fame voice and is either a niece or cousin to the great Loretta Lynn.
Vince actually has the MOST Grammy's of any country artist, which is crazy and most people don't realize!
I've seen Vince Gill perform live many times and his voice is just as clear and amazing live you should check out Patty Loveless song You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive
These videos were so great!! 😂 This song helped me to learn harmony 😊
Great song. I was listening to this song on the radio and the DJ said that’s sadder than a one car funeral…
That unique sound you hear in the harmony is the Great Patty Loveless. Her voice is and was Beautiful! ❤
Im the 70s Vince Gill was in a band. Pure Prairie League.
Vince was singing with the Eagles in 2017
He’s singing with the Eagles currently, too.

I met Vince in 1992...on Christmas Day at his mom's house. Such a sweet guy.
Patty Loveless is singing with him on this song. She did a lot of duets & backup vocals with Vince.
good job.

This is 1 of the greatest songs in country music. I truly ❤ this song. Check out some of his songs I think you'll enjoy.
One of my other favorites of his...is "When Love Finds You". ❤❤❤
I always feel a quick shot of anger when he sticks his finger in my face and then I remember he's not actually putting his finger in my face.
My kind of woman my kind if man is another Duet they dud uts amazung 22grammys honored
The background vocals are Patty Loveless, another country singer
This is the epitome of "Cryin' in your beer" music
2 other greats by him are POCKETS FULL OF GOLD with a great message. Also CINDERELLA about keeping yo woman love to you
Patty Loveless!!! this is one of the best 2 part harmonies in country you will ever hear!
Vince Gill has probably done more duets with woman than anyone in country music EVER. His high harmonies are hard to match! He is also a top tier guitarist and songwriter! There’s a reason why he has won TWENTY ONE Grammy’s!
Vince Gill and Patti Loveless together were fire!!
You can tell Vince was front row of his church choir as a kid🤣
Vince was with the group Pure Prairie League as a singer and guitarist before country
My boy nettles wasn't even born on this. That key change hits you hard thoough don't it
Great song, but his best(imo) is I Still Believe In You
One of the Pure Prairie Leages band members. Gosh they were good and still are .
Now listen to Vince Gill and Patti Loveless singing THIS LIVE!!!!!
He's got a great standalone voice but this man can harmonize like you wouldn't believe. He adds so much to a song and often you don't even realize that he's singing.

He was playing county fairs when that song hit. He got yanked out of the fairs started performing in arenas.
Travis Tritt, Keith Whitley can both sing their ass off.

Please react to BOSTON singing:

ROCK & Roll band
Vince Gill was in Pure Prairie League in the late 70s; he was a kid then, though.
Vince Gill is the one who played guitar while Carry Underwood sang How great thou art

Look at us!👍 my fav. Vince plays guitar at least as good as he sings. Multi talented. And patti lovelace. OMG!
Vince Gill goes all the way back to the 70s when he was with a band called Pure Prairie League. I became a fan back then.
