I don't know if it's a recent addition but after finding out Astarion is a vampire he says "I'm looking for a vampire named Astarion" and one of the options is "Well, here he is. This is Astarion." lol
Yeahp, I've been given to understand Baldur's Gate 3 is _the_ best game of its type as of now, but it's still very limited compared to the infinite story routes and adjustments available to any decent human DM.
And until he tells you that he’s a vampire and why he’s so upset by this interaction, everyone else in camp undoubtedly would think he’s just some violent, racist psychopath that nobody’s been brave enough to kick out yet lol
Interesting Cazador sent a gur after him considering Gur are the ones who nearly killed him as magistrate leading to him being turned. Cazador is vindictive for sure
@@maxstark4744 well, if you give Astarian up to Gandrel (spoiler) he ends up back in Cazador’s clutches by Act 3, so there is some sort of connection. Cazador was at least keeping track of the Gur’s efforts, or found out at some point that they had found him.
I just had that encounter. For those curious if you take a long rest after that you will have another line of dialogue about the hunter but it will have the exact same line outcome as the boar if you had find it earlier.
I did do that. You give him a nudge and I can't remember what the specific words were but he deflects his tension and the conversation goes on like what you see here and won't kill him. At least I'm pretty sure he won't for all options.

Kind of wish the hunter would name drop Astarion like he does if you already know Astarion's a vamp. Would be funny to see those reactions lol
Same
Same. I was really hoping he would do it.
He does name him if you use speak with the dead spell after killing him. You can confront Astarion about it.

@@Buffypoodle Even funnier, you can talk to him for a while and then say "Well, what do you think about this, Astarion?"
"AI absolutely, definitely will think about it." He's so full of sass.
"Oh-ho, is that so? Then I will definitely will think about warning you that I am about to drop a sun temple on your head... maybe".
Tav is like "had about enough of your s***!"
A monster hunter who couldn't even react to a frontal attack from someone he didn't know.
Wait, so there's no option to be like "Fuck that, you just randomly murdered a guy for no reason! Get the fuck away from me!"
basically when a party member does that you can just banish them to camp 😂

The Gur were looking for him for a different reason, I am not sure Cazador actually sent them. That’s just what Astarion thinks.

There’s also the option where you can give Astarion a warning look if you succeed the insight check. I’m not sure what it does though
I never chose that option. I would be keen to see

he name drops astarion if you use speak with the dead
My character doesn't do an insight check 😢
No name drop?
So he is a gypsy?
what is gypsy?
The actual name for them is Romani, gypsy is a slur

Don't worry about using the word "gypsy", btw. It is not a slur.
