I realise this is quite late, but for anyone still wondering, it looks like this is either Longbridge or Northfield. Or, could've checked the description.. which confirms it is in fact Northfield.
it looks similar because it the XPT was a train pitched to the aussies by british rail. its designed by the brits with some adjustments to make it more suitable for the climate.
The High Speed Train design was significantly modified, with the power cars being 50 cm (19.7 in) shorter, the Paxman Valenta engine downrated from 2250 to 2000 bhp (1680 to 1490 kW), gearing lowered for a top operating speed of 160 km/h (99 mph), suspension modified to operate on inferior track, and air filters and a cooling system modified to cater for hotter, dustier Australian conditions. The passenger cars, built to a loading gauge bigger than that of railways in Britain, were based on a Budd design.[6]
Not only is it missing the rest of it's train set but it also stopped at an abandoned platform. Driver's clearly having a bad morning 😂
Great video ! At first I was wondering if it was near Birmingham and then I heard the traction motors from the 323 and oh boy it does sound good.
Never seen that before!👍
a rare sighting seeing a class 43 power cars by itself where was this filmed!!! they look weird on there own lol 😆

@@ianwhittaker3640 everyone gains….every day is an education.
It’s not either of them it’s they’re! Ok
Yes this is what I was telling you about a power car alone with nothing behind it and i caught it flying under the road bridge
I never seen that train...Very cool!💖💖😃😃
He forgot the rest of the train. Schoolboy error 😅
Anyone seen my carriages and twin brother I feel lost without them 😢
It won’t stop well!
Who needs brakes
Always look sad 'alone'. 🙃🙁
I wonder what max speed that thing could get to without the weight of the rest of it.
so this is the planeyboys late for work reference
br 43 "HST"
Certainly accelerated well from a standing start
Nice acceleration 0:58
why dont they add a hst or dvt cab at the other end so it can operate as a single?
We have a very similar train in Australia called the XPT, looks just as weird as a lone loco. 👍🤪

@@Britainbyrail It all makes sense now, btw awesome train. 👍

@oldfatbastad6053 Surprisingly the difference is quite small, only 6in (in terms of both width and height)
...so if you have a model railway, kids, then here is the prototype for you to do it!
This is like a character of THOMAS
I want one
taking the short bus to work
I would love to see a class 43 locomotive with 2 cabs that would be cool 😎
👌🦺
