Legend mate! Some of those car may have died, but in some small way, you’ve given them a new lease of life to be appreciated for years to come yet. Hope this two part video continues to accumulate views for decades to come!! Well done sir!
The final Kazama S15 is now located in Sweden. It still had the livery when it arrived but has since been removed. The guy who imported the car said on a forum post that "the car will get a cooler look and truly be one of a kind when he's done". Thank god he didn't get to tearing it appart before selling it. It’s been to the last two Vicious Delicious events that I've hosted, still red, has some Kiwamis now but other than that it's a true time capsule. Bonus story: One of the Mona Lisa stunt cars were at one point painted flat military green and used as a drift somewhere in the world. The car later made it's way to Sweden where the owner started sanding down the green paint to repaint the car, only to realize that the original Mona Lisa paintjob was still fairly intact underneath. The car is completely rebuilt with no connection what so ever to it's Mona Lisa prime. The car was labeled "#55, VIN000091, Han/Sean, Turbo."
I would love for you to cover the ultimate jdm icon cars from back in the day. In particular JUN hyperlemon, auto select cars, signal auto 33/34, top secret cars, ablfug, apexi, ARC demo cars etc etc. Loving these videos man!
awesome video! also i think a great idea, how about a look through japanese magazines since the 80s, to the 2010s, and all type of content and ads from the time!
Keep these kind of videos coming!!! I, like a lot of us lived through this boom as a young adult and it really was the best of times. Really enjoyed these videos
Im sure you spent a lot of time compiling everything for the last two videos and I loved every second of it please keep it coming and thank you for your content I love every video
Legend video as ever mate!! Respect to the level of research and preparation that went into writing the script and editing your delivery to keep the story moving at the right pace. Engaging and entertaining and informative throughout. Quality content and your passion for the topic and personal insights just add weight to the delivery. Keep them coming! Always love to see a 30 mins video the channel. 100% finish rate!! 👍🏻👍🏻
So nostalgic, after years away from the car scene in my early 30's, been on the fence about buying a car that i never had the chance to, mid life crisis maybe but after watched these vids, im buying an 86 !!
The best stories for these old legends is when they get imported, take on a new incredible life, then get restored back to their former glory. We get the best of both worlds, the car gains a cool new legacy but still resembles it's incredible origin.
I really want to see a break down of your book/mook/ magazine collection Neil. Your room looks insane and I think people would love to see what you got and nerd out
Great video! So many cars I remember over the years and funny how many of them I still have parts of from buying off forums and donedeal 😂 The orange s14.5 in part 1 of the video was my holy grail car growing up and I purchased all of the panels off it when it came up for breaking when I was 13 years old with my confirmation money and I still have the full Uras monkey magic bodykit, Masa motorsport wings and carbon fibre bonnet, some of which still have the crazy orange pearl flip paint. Also have URAS tail lights which I believe came from the same car but I could never find any photos of the rear of the car. Another honourable mention for RYO-D cars would’ve been their PS13 which landed in Ireland I believe, there’s a good thread on the old driftireland forum of different cars that came during the boom with lots of photos from the docks.
Early / Mid 2000's were peak in Japan. But the worldwide scene thesedays is pretty fantastic. I feel cars that people or workshops build are on another level.
No words to describe how good this videos have been, the import boom is just fascinating to see... I would love to see more videos regarding this topic! And I´m really hyped to see the video talking about your 180sx too! Btw, would you do a video talking about the 86 you bought in japan? Greetings from Portugal!
man, we irish wrecked cars, fake wheels, reg plates to one side & no talent. it's good that 10% of buyers knew what they had & appreciated them. a lot of legends died young.
So sad that this culture is slowly dying and that the people of this generation will never understand it, unbelievable video and glad you have all this history on the cars unreal!
It looks like the Mona Lisa S15 was one of the stunt cars? One of them ended up in Sweden, and got built into a full blown drift car with carbon kevlar body parts etc. I was lucky enough to see it outside of work once, and luckily I’d driven my own S15 to work the same day. It was cool to see the difference between them!
Yeah there seems to be five of them from my research, one went to Germany from the UK? this one to France, and Sweden one, I think the other two are unaccounted for, but I could be wrong.
What an absolute treat this was! And I have to ask, that's the same Shino we've occasionally seen in Noriyaro's videos? I want to say at Nikko circuit, but could be wrong about that. I love it when the dots start connecting!
Really enjoyed these. As someone who only got into cars since 2020 and own a few jdm cars now I always wish I could have used and abused them back in the day and got to experience different cars for cheap money.
Hey neil! I love this video series Everything is so interesting man, It's crazy that so many famous cars that you know from option magazines or other magazines have come to ireland. I mean that some demo cars for the Tokyo Auto Salon have also come to Germany, some D1 cars too I'm trying to find out more about which cars ended up here (:
I've got a fair few photos of that 180sx that Strang had before it was painted black. I also remember Danny's Green Machine S14 very well, my girlfriend at the time loved that car so much. Simon Perry's pink Lassa Tyres R33 was also really high profile at that time. Maybe you can try and find out some more information about what happened to the S.T. Garage Lexus IS350! The last information I know about that car is that Daigo Saito bought it, but I don't think it's been seen since then. It was supposedly going to be his next big D1 chassis before he went mental with the JZX100 and started competing in FD US. Around that time he also bought Sam Hubinette's Dodge Challenger too, but information is scarce about what happened to that machine too. Last I seen it was sitting on top of a container in a DriftGames video at Daigo's complex.
Love the channel! Love the videos ❤ Still think it’s mad that me, a Kildare man ended up with a lady from Waterford that sold you her old micra! Small world! 😂
If you ever branch out to cars that came to the uk i have the jzx100 mark ii bn sports 2005 demo car its pretty much the same as it was back then just freshend up would love to get it the recognition it deserves as know one here knows what it is lol
Mate I could watch this all night long, such great information and insight, one car I do know much like the s15 Mona Lisa from Tokyo drift is newera imports also imported the yellow chaser from the car park scene of Tokyo drift when the elevator doors first open I’m not sure if that ended up in the uk or Ireland but they definitely had it on their website
I remember every single car in these videos and it's amazing. I've actually got some old photos at my parents house from a dispocameta of some including the venga bus as wes called it
Really interesting series! It’s funny how most of us knew of at least one Japanese car locally growing up and dreamed of somehow owning it! Goodness knows what happened to many of them!
Remember going to elite autos as a 12 ish year old mindblown with the passing ae86 (was painted red by then) cemented rusty misery in my head for life and have a s14 boom machine that I overpaid for thanks to modern Ireland that is slowly getting restored.
The vanning is something that I’ve never seen or heard of. We did a US custom van in 2000 and thought we went over the top, nothing even close to those wild looking machines. So much time, effort and money. Certainly not road friendly, we had enough problems because the top of the roof was 9”. Just hard or impossible to park, I can’t imagine adding feet of wings to the roof.
I have absolutely no clue if its the same car, But the Trials R32 mentioned in the video might have made its way to Sweden last year? A friend of mine recently imported one from Belgium. It has an full Trials parts catalogue thrown at it and has the same color as shown in your video. No idea if it's the same one that ended up in the UK(?) since it had no papers etc.
I had the incredible chance to see the real s15 Mona Lisa in France not far from my home during a drift event (mona lisa did not drift). It was on my 18th birthday, I will never forget this incredible day
The T50 86 was one of the first cars I stumbled across that made its way to Ireland and I kinda fell into a rabbit hole that ultimately brought me to Juicebox many many moons ago. You should really give this and Amanda's KP60 a full feature video if the chance ever arises :)
A guy called Carlo used to frequent a lot of the sites and he i'm sure still has an original TRD 3000GT supra. That's a stupidly rare and exceptional car for this little island. Could be worth chasing.
very cool i grew up watching drift bible at my older cousins house then got into playing initial d at game parks..... man that really got me into cars.... and then got into anime haha man seeing all this is amazing! pohg mohohn i love Japan
the uras R34 is or atleast was in ireland it drifted at the most recent drift event in tipperary rosegreen and was also featured in a evenflow video about the drift event

I'm shocked at how isolated you guys were brands. Or more so I guess, how different brands went to different countries. BN Sports is largely unheard of here. We got LOTS of cars with c-west, 5zigen and Vielside parts. It was rare to find an import (at least in the early days before everyone jumped on board and started mass importing) that didn't have something Trust, GReddy, Blitz or Apex-i.
Was really hoping to see the HKS DC5 in the list. I remember seeing it for sale all those years ago and when I heard who the owner was, I couldn't believe it 😅
That Kazama s15 ended up in Sheffield/rotherham in the UK I saw it parked by the side of the road near me a few times I snapped a pic that I now can't find. But it 100% was this car as I remember thinking it was weird it had a GTR plate. The guy was local so I'm trying to track it down. And find my pics

That green S15 was featured in July 2013 Banzai magazine a few years before the magazine went. I think it was in the US or Canada iirc.
I'm more then happy that i could help you guys get the rwb ae86 back to Ireland, hope to see more of it on the channel.
