Whaaaat... n°3 texture refresh. Never noticed this. The other i know and use all. But this was a great discover. Thanks. Ps. The new shadergraph is boring because frequently the selection get stuck and i need to deselect with a shortcut and reselect the node i want to refresh. Im not the only to have this issue, and i have this problem from c4d 26 to this 2024. All in my studio have this problem. Did u know a fix ? 😅
It is not always a game changer, sometimes it can even increase geometry preparation time for RTX rays. It all depends on the scene and all parameters should be selected by comparing render times.
great tips...but I would love to know if there are any ways to speed up rendering times; specifically the pre-processing (preparing) steps. I have a animation now which I need to test render continuously for tweaking. frames are taking 1 to 2 seconds but preparing takes 5 minutes! The progressive renderer doesn't have this issue but the IPR unfortunately cannot render out sequences. that would be a life saver!
Cinema 4D now uses the GPU to display the viewport with DirectX, thus using VRAM, there is also a wierd interaction between Redshift's way of using VRAM to speed up it's calculations and other applications that uses VRAM, it has been fixed but still the interactivity is not the same as the 3.0 versions @@ثلاجاتمستعملة
Because Nvidia introduced a mem leak bug a year ago even the Redshift team can't fix it completely on their own. Since then there have been new drivers, Redshift versions and such but it's not how it used to be before that@@ثلاجاتمستعملة
That title is not hyperbole. Great tips. Thanks!
Always!
These tips deserve a medal 🥇🥇🥇💪 i tried a couple and everything is massively faster!!!!
Excellent! Hopefully you can use the extra time for beers with friends 😉
Last one is great, thanks!
You’re welcome 🙂
You are the man! 💪 thanks so much
Many thanks, glad to help 🤜🤛

Great tips!
if you change the final render bucket size from 128 to 512 you will render around 100% faster.
Scene dependant, but true!
What is the difference between pausing the IRP and hitting freeze geometry updates? I can't understand this function.
Good stuff. If you do have an RTX card, enabling the RTX acceleration is a game changer.
Where is that option located? Ty

RTX is on by default now it seems

in windows: system->display->graphics settings->enable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling fixed it for me. Hope this helps anyone!
Sure, send us your file and we will have a look. 🙂
if you set the used gpu memory in the system tab under memory dropdown to 60 or 50 depending on the scene file size the render becomes much faster.
But why it becomes faster?

@@ثلاجاتمستعملة it's a bug, you just need to touch move, 80% is fine.

That has been fixed. You can just set it to 90 again.
Can you turn on the freeze tessellation for final / bucket render?
seems can be a great cheat for fast previz render
I wanted to find this before, unfortunately I couldn't find where to start.
Not that I know of.
Im really not a fan of the disable mat previews. RS needs to make this process faster.
It’s for sure getting better in the Node Editor.
