This was one of my favorite videos of your Shred Series. Not the craziest trails or riding, but a great solo exploration and discovery, faced some adversity and unknown with the trees and trail conditions, and then you persevered and got an amazing payoff. You even got to see some wildlife and take a dump in the woods. That’s what riding is all about - getting out there and exploring and having an adventure and fun.

I live in Steamboat & my bud lives in Jackson. Earlier in Sept., we both had snowstorms that turned out to be huge wind events. Both areas had hundreds of not thousands of healthy trees go down. The wind came in from the east which was unusual. Up to 100 mph winds . So, that's what your going through. And in Jackson Hole there aren't freak snow storms, it's just always crazy weather. Usually you don't have to worry about moose unless you have a dog.

What an amazing way for you to quarantine. Out on the trail getting fresh air and vitamin D. I have been trying to do the same thing only closer to home. You will come out of this with such a better mental state. I've been on Teton Pass before and remember how remote you can feel up there. Kind of unnerving at times. The moose was super cool. Glad you have stayed healthy. Thanks for taking us with you on this epic journey. Always exciting when a new video pops up.

Well, lets hope HJ stays fun, but they are busy "rebuilding" the more interesting trails. Aspen got turned into a very generic blue and Haunted Forest was completely redone and is a boring featureless green now, goat trail was officially closed.

@@mrvwbug4423 I heard that the reroutes are boring and meant to keep riders speed down...so unfortunate... the forest service really screwed the pooch there...

@@Tkolbo_ Goat was taken out of Trailforks when they changed HF, and it no longer connects to HF. I suppose it's still there if you can find the entrance, but no longer has an exit. Aspen is truly boring, but at least runs well in both directions now. HF is potentially fast, but all the corners are flat and there are no features, the fast, open section past the Aspen cutoff is untouched, but was never really a selling point of HF.

The tree critter was definitely an American Marten, they are common in the higher elevations in Wyoming. The downed trees are not normal, that early September storm brought down a lot of trees in the rocky mountains in general. We had big problems with downed trees in southern Wyoming as well after that storm. As for trail ratings, it depends on the area. I suspect a more touristy area like Teton Pass will be more honest. Southeast Wyoming is notoriously underrated on both Trailforks and MTB Project, plus a few that are comically overrated.
