    I bought one of these and installed it in the mountains of NH. Went from 0-1 bars to 4-5 bars LTE (Verizon). As for the 5G TMobile Home Internet, it uses both 5G and 4G bands. This booster certainly helped out the TMobile 5G Home Internet as well! I was shocked and glad I have full cellular and 5G internet in an off-grid situation. Amazing!

    As a former cell phone company field worker. I went out an bought a universal cell phone signal booster for my RV and a portable one for my work truck. Never dropped a call. It was less expensive than the ones offer by the cell phone company that I worked for. At remote locations where there was no cell phone coverage I would open up the RV windows and let my neighbors used it

    It worked for me. I went from 3 bars to one when ATT sold out to Verizon. I had a booster but it wasn’t much help. First I checked the frequency and yes it is compatible for both providers. I raised the antenna temporarily using a piece of pvc pipe higher above the metal roof. Instantly saw increased signal. Next step was to make a higher mast to get the best line of sight. Big boost! While rerouting the in cable I noticed great variations in reception. By placing the cable in the attic in several locations I found the best signal location. Note make sure this cable has no overlaps or even close proximity to the rest of the cable. It can parasite itself and cancel out.

Now, my new phone does and my speeds went from 3mbps down in the window to usually around 20Mbps. Seen high as 80 once. Upload chills around 2-3Mbps in the window.

    Over the years I've used cellphones of various types and played around with passive boosters on the phones themselves,on vehicles,and on a house or two,I've noticed my need to boost signals is less than it used to be. I think phones are better and they do add towers still to this day both of which help alot of course. My current home happens to have a tower within about 1/2 mile so my now broken LG phone always had max signal,the lower level Samsung I replaced it with is only 2-3 bars on average,so phone ability matters too. I am absolutely convinced that powered units do have their good uses,like you showed here. I am also convinced that sometimes,some folks,might only need a lesser passive boost just to bump it up a bit and stabilize it for reliability.
    Off topic a bit- The absolute worst piece of crap phone signal-wise I owned was a Motorola StarTac(around year 2000),I finally got so frustrated with it I opened it and ran it over with my 96 Silverado 4x4 several times which didn't kill it! LOL. Why makes a phone with such horrible signal so damn tough?!?! Other than signal I liked that flip phone alot,but it was for shit at it's main purpose. I went to LG and stayed with them for 20 years until just recently.

    • @KuptisOriginal
      @KuptisOriginal 2 роки тому

      Before about the year 1998 Motorola made their stuff to be tough and used to be good; radios, pagers, cell phones, etc. But then they got behind with technology advancements and they split into 2 different companies in 2011 which both now make terrible products IMO.

    Hello Andrew Great Review. I got fed up with my Cable Provider last year and cancelled House Phone, Internet and TV and I was able to Get StarLink and Love it I am in Northern NJ and the Internet is on 24x7. I have the first Revision with the Round Dish and Attached Cable I see the Revision 2 it is a Square Dish with the Cable that can be removed from the dish which I like better because if you damage the cable you can just replace the cable not have to replace the entire dish. What I found interesting is being where I live we get that white stuff that falls from the sky (Snow). They updated my software in the winter and the dish actual has heaters in it that melts the snow, I thought that was cool. Love your House build looks like you are almost to the Finish Line and ready to move in.

    Great video! You can now have the weather channel on while you work instead of silence! Though I just keep looking at that wall where the stairs will eventually be...When I built my last stairs I just bought 2 2x12x16', cut out the risers and treads from a premade strip, braced the ground end, screwed in to the ledger board, leveled the treads and built a landing where it needed to go. Not a bit of math, but they turned out beautiful none the less. Dying to see how you build the right way, know I'll have to wait though... I could have used your info when I installed my weeboost decades ago. But trial and error also works :) LOVED the ending...Sorry the spray foam went wild on ya, been there done that! I kinda like getting it on my hands. After I'm done for the day sit and pick it off...But in hair? Yikes! I've ruined so many shirts and pants as well as shoes...You'd think I'd learn.."I'll be careful" doesn't work with spray foam!

    Nice video. It doesn't really apply to you, but always include a drup loop on cables especially entering walls. The cable runs down the up to the hole or connector in a U so water drips away and off the loop bottom. That outside connector would last better with a wrap of self amalgamating tape which will stick only to itself and form a waterproof rubber boot. Bery cheap hand tuff, saves things from exposure and seals nicely. I wrap some tool handles with it for a nice grip too.

    If you have multiple cell towers near enough, it's possible to aim a directional antenna at each and use a combiner to improve download performance. I wouldn't exceed three antennas due to cost and the availability of 3-input combiners.
    In your particular case, an omnidirectional antenna mounted high enough to clear your local trees might be your best solution but would need lightning protection. Have you considered putting up a Rohn tower? 😉

    Just personal experience, having installed a couple of these on our old ranch house with a metal roof (and almost no signal indoors), I found the WeBoost to be considerably superior product in terms of it's boost abilities. Perhaps others will have different experiences.

      I love mine, but I am pleased with the results of this one as well. I am getting similar results as the Weboost that I have in my shop. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

    I have a WeBoost and I was able to mount my indoor antenna many feet away from the booster. I don’t recall if I purchased additional coax for the indoor antenna.

    I tried installing a booster in my house but they wanted the antenna placed so far away from the base that it meant stringing unsightly wire everywhere. I sent it back and bought Starlink. It's pricey, but worth it where I live. If the FCC ever lets Starlink run mobile signals, my cell service issues will be resolved as well.

    The diameter of a circle that is 1000 square feet is about 36 feet. So, if this box is correct, then it is good for almost 18 feet in each direction from the inside antenna.
    1,500 feet only helps a little bit. It makes a reception/broadcast circle of almost 44 feet, or almost 22 feet from each direction from the inside unit. However, this might be fine.

    Hii,Kelly thanks a lot for the video,you made me choose this amplifier! I am from country Georgia and gonna have in Caucasus mountains where two GSM network companies are operating,both provides 4G 800 MHz (B20) would this booster work with this frequency?
    and second question please,as there is two company operating and we have little signal from both of them,can I choose the one I want to catch the signal from and boost it? or this amplifier does it for both signals at the same time or how this works? thanks a lot!

    So did you have to plug any of the device into an electrical outlet? I just don't recall seeing anything that needed to be hardwired or plugged into your electrical system. I pretty much live in my basement as it is hotter than Satan's toenails in summer and colder than a well digger's butt in Montana in the winter. I usually have zero bars and where you wired yours in with the dryer vent made me think I too could run mine right next to the dryer vent which is in my basement and the area I need a boost at. Thanks Andrew!

      You do need a 120 volt outlet for the main unit.

    Hey... The house is amazing! I'm surprised you haven't got starlink yet. I was on the list for starlink for a year and about 2 weeks .. I finally got the email that it was available to me in mid February 2022 and promptly ordered it. It was delivered about a week and a half later. I love it. Hopefully you are close to getting that same email. The sooner the better. One thing about starlink... they have gone up in monthly fee by $10. They say it's due to current inflation. Not a deal breaker for me... but good fyi for those that don't know.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 роки тому +2

      I'll gladly pay the increase if it's as promised.

      It's also worth noting.. If you think you will need the Ethernet adapter, order it as soon as you are able. Basically order starlink... Then a few minutes later go on their shop page and order the Ethernet adapter. I did this and it took over a month to get the adapter.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 роки тому +1

      I see they are back ordered, I tried to order the adapter and the mounting pole. They won't let me order until they ship out my dish.

      @@TKCL. Another tip.. when you get your starlink and you are ready to permanently install it. If you are going to drill a hole in the wall for the cable to pass through and you want the smallest hole possible without cutting and splicing the cable...Drill a hole big enough for the dish end of the cable. A 3/4" hole is barely big enough if my memory serves. If you use the router end of the cable... It's a bigger hole... 1" hole might be big enough.

    • @blythdunlap8408
      @blythdunlap8408 2 роки тому

      If you have any friends that get starlink before you.. you can always see if they will order it for you. I'd order it for you but being in Texas...it isn't much of a benefit being It'd have to be shipped to me and then to you.

    Please excuse my simple questions as I am elderly, . So are using a cell phone booster off a cell phone tower to watch TV? Do you subscribe toTV service from the phone company? Are you also using the booster to use your cell phone? Do you no longer need a phone line line or TV cable subscription trew a cablr?

  • @Foxtrot1967

    Best to amplify RF signals directly at the external antenna, yagi or dish and not after a length of cable.. Make a water tight box for the amp and mount it as close to the external antenna with a N to N connector. Should provide an additional 3-4 dB of gain
