Jamal I just found something interesting: Peter Frampton's father, Owen was an art teacher in the UK. One of Owen's students was legendary singer, David Jones aka David Bowie.
Frampton was one of Bowie's lead guitarists on his "Glass Spider" tour back in 87ish (I was able to attend one of the shows). Frampton had been out of the limelight for several years due to a serious car accident & some subsequent drugs issues that followed. Bowie helped him get his "mojo" back with performing. They remained life long friends. I have seen him in recent interviews, he is totally engaging & very charming, aside from his musical talents.
Another interesting fact about Peter is he’s an excellent teacher/coach with music, just like his dad was. If you’ve seen the movie Almost Famous, Peter taught the actors how to play guitar/move on stage etc. He also wrote a few songs for Almost Famous with Nancy Wilson from Heart. She was married to Cameron Crowe at the time & this movie is based off of how Cameron became the great journalist & producer that he is now 😊
I just posted the same thing. Owen Frampton became well known in his own right for a while. He was at the centre of a major international incident at the end of the war in Europe. He appeared in a TV documentary about the incident.
Peter always seemed to be having the most fun. He is a joy to watch. Just wish we could have seen a lot more of him. He is way under-rated as a guitarist and entertainer in general.

Peter was a master of the voice box. You had to be a great musician, such as talking with your instrument and then adding in your voice and manipulate it with the instrument.
I haven't seen anyone describe the way that it works, so I will. That tube carries the sound of the guitar straight up the tube and into the player's mouth, where the actual sound resonates inside the mouth, and you can shape the sound with your mouth the same way you do words, which is then picked up by the microphone and put out through the PA. Such a weird, cool invention.
When Peter Frampton left Humble Pie I was stunned ,however, it led to this, his best song and album. I wish him the very best dealing with that degenerative muscular disease.

Last time in 2017 with the hardest working band in rock, Cheap Trick. Give his version of "Black Hole Sun" a listen, he was nominated for a Grammy for that album.

At nine years old, I’d lay on the floor with my head against the speakers, as dad played all of this great music in the ‘70’s……I caught “contact highs” from the best smoke the ‘70’s could provide…..BTW dad, I’m doin’ fine, and thanks for exposing me to this. Now I can enjoy it with Jamel, and all of the world…..✌️

I will tell you, there is nothing like seeing Frampton live!!!! I've seen Journey ,Styx, Tesla, Reo Speedwagon, Def leppard, etc.. Peter Frampton by far was my favorite! He puts such a cool vibe over the crowd! He could have played all night!❤ It was a great night in Indianapolis.
What was the venue? Seen too many shows to count in Indy as well.
@@carlgibbons5777 Verizon wireless music center....now Ruoff. Noblesville Indiana
@@glennawhiteman742 Yes. My hometown. 4 miles from my childhood home:)
At nine years old, I’d lay on the floor with my head against the speakers, as dad played all of this great music in the ‘70’s……I caught “contact highs” from the best smoke the ‘70’s could provide…..BTW dad, I’m doin’ fine, and thanks for exposing me to this. Now I can enjoy it with Jamel, and all of the world…..✌️
Thanks for the reminder of the energy in his music. Nothing but fun.............
what an exciting performance! and great music...unforgettable!
The third concert I ever saw was Peter Frampton and The Doobie Brothers absolutely incredible
Road trip at 17 to see Peter Frampton June 1976! What a show!
Frampton was the first concert I went to with friends and no adults in late 76 or early 77... great show..
Got to see him open for Steve Miller several years ago. They were both awesome. After Frampton played, Steve Miller came out and did a few songs them called Peter back on stage and they jammed a bit. They did "Black Hole Sun" together which was fantastic!!!
One of the things I always loved about the Midnight Special was the artists were allowed to play however they wanted. I can listen to this tune on repeat. I am so blessed to have grown up in the 60s and 70s.
"Champagne for breakfast and a Sherman in my hand"...Hell yes. Been there
"White top, White tails, never fails
Must have been a dream. I don't believe where I've been
Come on - let's do it again"
Whats Sherman?
Nat Sherman cigarettes, natural tobacco. Company went out of business last year after 70+ years, main shop on 5th Ave. in NYC.
@@julicarter7348 tnks my dear 😉🙂
@@espada9 I love how he changes that verse nightly. Peach tales, peach sales , never fails. I've seen him 10 times live and it is always a different verse.
Jamal, you've got to be one of the coolest cats on UA-cam. Been watching you since day one and it's been a pleasure seeing you develop such an outstanding taste in music.
Peace.
I got to see Peter in concert the summer of 2019. I never thought I'd get to see him live i mean the song came out in 1976 and I was born in 91. Dad showed me a lot of music growing up and is one of the ones that helped me start playing music. That concert was a spiritual experience
The talkbox king. I saw him in concert back in '79. The guy was amazing.
Such an underrated guitar player and artist. One of the Best Selling albums of all time.....First Band at 16 (The Herd) Joined Humble Pie at 19 then went solo at 21... Saw him in 77 in Atlanta and rocked.......Quit tourin over a year ago due to muscle disease..Great Reaction.....Thanks
Hey 🙋🏻♀️Jamal love Peter Frampton 👏👏👏
Peter Frampton is such an underrated guitarists!!! He is Bad Ass!!!
Takes me back...Love the guitar playing genius of Mr.Frampton. When I was a lil kid I remember my mom turning on the car radio in the 70s and you would without a doubt hear mr frampton doin his thing...Great memories. Love your channel...You truly appreciate the music you react to. Great to see you lite up when experiencing such talent. Keep up the goodness brother.
Frampton Comes Alive was my very first concert great memories in a great story behind that show it was incredible
What a great entertainer! Wow! Actually got the crowd moving!
Frampton Comes Alive still holds the record for Best Sales of a Live Recording of all time. When this came out, nothing else touched it as the Record influenced so many artists to come and still does. Frampton is still great, still sounds great. His cover of Jumpin Jack Flash by the Stones is awesome on the recording since I know you often do originals vs. covers.
Brings back so great high school memories. Everybody had Frampton Comes Alive on 8-Track tape blasting out of their cars.
Saw Gary Wright, Peter Frampton and Yes at JFK Stadium in Philly back in 1976
Saw Frampton in concert when he was 17 playing with "The Herd" Listen to "from the Underworld" . Peter showed star potential even then.
Doooo you *YOU* feeeeel like i dooo!?
Love that jam
I got to see a much older Frampton a couple years ago in Saratoga Springs, NY (SPAC). Sounded even better. Spectacular show! Keep the music alive brother!
One of the first guitarists to utilize the triple humbucker setup. Gave an amazing sound. So clear
Love this song. Frampton is a consummate performer. His combination of talent, charisma, and presence is unmatched.
As usual, I love your reaction to classic rock greats. I got to see Frampton in concert when this album came out, and it never gets old watching him.
I just finished his autobiography Do You Feel Like I Do. I listened to it on Audible, he read it himself. It was very interesting and he doesn’t try to pretty everything up.
What a treat that clip was. Thank you. Took me back to 5th grade... my cousin Carl, 6 years older, was my conduit for music I hadn't heard yet and this song makes me think of him.
The introduction is sweet.
I listened when I was young. High school yrs. Thank you always😎🕯🙏
I love when songs have "the tube", it makes Jamel so happy! ♥️🙂
When I was little a Peter Frampton t-shirt was my night shirt.
I was blessed to see Peter Frampton in the 90's
Out here he leaned into the pipe znd said Mesa, Phoenix, Scottsdale and the place went mad !!!H e still lives her part time. Not only does the man have it, it’s never been gone, done if you have and he’s here snd sounds fantastical. Peter Frampton can send you to a very happy music place in your memories and they sill remain with me and have as powerful force asI’ll be eternally grateful for it all. I just need to meet him, sign my arm so I can get it tattooed over it!
Classic Rock my friend. Excellent!
I used to loooove Peter Frampton; not just his music, but his smile and long, blonde curls. Something came on with him around '08 and my husband just laughed.
"It is a good thing you're blind or you would be heartbroken now!" I told him "Whatever...I still love YOU even though you lost your blonde curls in your early 20s". It shut him up and we could settle down to listen to Frampton.
The most soul-filledl rock song!!
Peter Frampton what a talent!!!
I had such a crush on him a young girl as all girls did, He was the cutest thing ever and those facial expressions just made us melt , those flashing those eyes at the camera. Wow This was such a great performance and such talent We all had to have this album
