I was raised by a father who looked after us kids, who cooked and cleaned, who knew how to sew, and he taught me, a girl, to use tools and to fix things. My parents are equal. They have their preferences when it comes to what they do at home, but my father never made my mother do all the cooking and cleaning. They were a team.

As a daughter to indian parents, all of them want boys until you grow up, and then they're extremely greatful they got a girl. Also not allowing a boy to do chores gives them a big ego, superiority complex, and makes them rude. Just look at my brother.
