    If you look at what is in the kit online it will be the same DCB609. i wish dewalt would make it more clear when they note the battery and tell you it is the 9ah @ 20V and 3ah @ 60V

    @cynic256 3 місяці тому

    Just so you know, your 9ah battery is a 3ah battery at 60v. That's where you're going wrong online.
    They don't make an actual 3ah battery for 60v. Smallest is a 2ah@60v or 6ah@20v

    i have had 2 dewalt saws so far both broke after about 30 batterys through them i ended up fixing both in the end but overall they have alot of design flaws for example the way the oil pump works makes it break easaly and the chain tensioners tend to fail alot too.
    the NEW 60v model is just the old model with a facelift all the internals stayed the same for the most part

      Yeah I was wonder how the chain tensioner would hold up. I’ll have to keep the oiler in mind to. Thanks for watching

      It depends on which model you get. I had 2 40v saws that were like this and had to rebuild them every 3-4 years (had them since 2017) until it wasn't worth fixing them anymore. If you get the DCCS677 model then it's completely different where they replaced a lot of plastic with medal and enclosed the tension gears completely. You do have to use the tool that's kept in the bottom of the saw to either tighten the chain or remove the bar, but honestly it doesn't take much longer than with the plastic dials they had on prior models.

    How did your chain brake keep getting engaged? We never had chain brakes back in the day.
    Twice now I've been scratching my head wondering what was wrong with my battery operated saw; swapping batteries out; wondering if my battery had gone dead or lost it's charge.
    Only to find out that d**n chainbrake was engaged!
    I must have bumped it or something; because I certainly never intentionally deploy it.

    It's so weird not hearing the gas idle in between cuts lol. Would you say the electric motors are quieter overall?

    • @TheHelmanHomestead
      @TheHelmanHomestead  5 місяців тому +1

      Definitely much quieter! If I had my other saw with the exhaust id be deaf in no time without ear protection 😂. I like the simplicity of the electric, just grab and cut!

      I saw recenly some company trimming bushes using these types of saws and it was not noisy at all. The cutting process itself with a chainsaw is amazingly quiet unlike for ex a table/circular saw and none of the workers used any hearing muffs what I could see other then maybee some airpods for music while working. The engine is thus the only part of a chainsaw that is loud wich also includes electric chainsaws running on mains voltage using brushed universal motors and they are just as loud as a gasoline saw screaming like a jet engine at over 100 dB while running. These new BLDC battery saws however is a HUGE contrast to that. As they cost a fortune only very large companies can afford them however, esp the ones with battery backpacks like these guys that i saw had. Prices are comming down in general hopefully in a while so that more people can afford these.

    Only electric i saws i like are reciprocal for general work, and a pole saw for those hard to reach times. Otherwise im more gas as for a chainsaw for me im always burning though batteries and cant keep them charged to keep work flow continuous. Also i burnt a good few batteries just sawing for to long and the heat of a summer day of constant use it just heatstrokes the equipment and batteries out. Wire inside tool gets burnt needing resplicing and battery board fried needing replacing.
    Can say the same for gas/electric trimmers. just cant go long enough on electric nor have enough weed busting torque. Gas all the way. though for weeding ive never burnt a battery out of comission though have burnt tools wiring.

      Yeah I’m a big gas fan. Love my gas saws and trimmers. I do like my electric pole saw also, super handy to have. I am digging this electric saw though. Just used it today on a small log and I’m happy with it, the 9amp hour battery seems to last pretty decent. Thanks for watching
