@@blade420playElite like a %15 to even %20 performance increase. The huge difference you'll notice when you let that poor saw actually breath is an increase in not just rpm but especially low end torque. I mean that little 180 could pull a 20 inch bar and chain and hold it's own.
It's actually pretty easy and you don't need to weld anything. The first thing to do is take the muffler off and look inside, there you will see two baffles with really narrow openings, take a dremel and open them up as much as you want just make sure to smooth the edges with sand paper. Then on the front you want to take off the exhaust peice and behind it is a grid of small circles, take the dremel and cut the outline of it all out, smooth the edges and then clean all the metal shavings out of the muffler. Put it back together and you have a totally different saw!
Oh and one more thing, you can use a pick or a small pry bar or a screwdriver to open those exhaust vents on the front a bit more to further help the poor little guy breath.
I appreciate the candid wife clip at the end. I was thinking how my wife would be pissed if I had done that. But we had to, right? Why? Because of science.
Your ole lady is a damn good sport! My wife literally closed her eyes; she couldn’t watch the sandwich test! Good move on editing out your wife strangling you!!!
I'm pretty sure the Stihl is an MS170, not M5170. It's a decent saw. I've used the MS180 for 8 years now with minimal problems and it may last another 8 years or more. You might consider getting one when that non-serviceable, disposable, throw away electric toy blows up.
I will wait to see the longevity of the tool. That said I have Stihl: MS-261, MS-201TC, MS-500i, and MS-881. Most top tier manufacturers are just now making battery options that can keep up with a 50cc class professional saw. And no, not all 50cc saws make the same power
I'm sure your chain is on backwards
‘Am I in trouble?’
Great self awareness, I think that saved you.
I've watched dozens of gas-vs-electric-chainsaw videos now, and this is by far the funniest.
The stupidest
Sooo impressed with how nice the slice of meat turned out. And automatically sprinkled with dressing!
Seriously, how does this only have 2k views.
There was that one time we fed hamburgers to cows. I think PETA still has it out for us
Those small saws stock are completely gutless, but a simple muffler mod and that thing would put any battery saw to shame.
Go on....👀

@@benjaminleslie3155 so, like a larger exhaust? Or just gutting the baffles of the existing one? Seriously curious👍

Gas chainsaws have been used for CENTURIES, lol. That stump must have petrified. 🤣😂
“Am I in trouble?” 😂🥴🤣
Separate topic: What's the paint brand/color of your house? Thanks.

There was no other choice!
What has my life come to, I am watching a man obliterate a loaf of bread with a chainsaw in his kitchen
What has MY life come to? I had to clean up a loaf of bread and other sandwich ingredients that I obliterated with a chainsaw in my kitchen.
Looks like your chain on the sthil is a bit loose,
Yeah, noticed that after the fact
That gas saw starts up nice…. Must be really well maintained by someone really good at finishing projects.
Lol most likely
I think the sandwich would have tasted better if you replace the chain and bar oil with mayonnaise. 😉
It just so happens that I bought another chainsaw recently. We can make that happen!
Adjust chain tension knuckle head. 😅
If you are gonna do a chainsaw test maybe don't use the driest wettest piece of wood on the planet its hard on the chain .
Your ole lady is a damn good sport! My wife literally closed her eyes; she couldn’t watch the sandwich test! Good move on editing out your wife strangling you!!!
Lol they only allow you to show so much on UA-cam
As I watched this, I thought... "clearly the wife is out of town." I see that I was incorrect in that assessment. So, were you REALLY in trouble?
She’s pretty easy going but there is a no chainsaws in the house rule now…
Love the sandwich but no cheese please
Dewalt will replace you chainsaw for free .
10:30 dude realy ? in this world ? at this moment ?
Ham sandwich for the win!

Bro, get a MS271, or MS261. Want a battery? Stihl MSA-300.

I also have an MS310. 59cc. Better for slightly bigger stuff.
Lmao. Good for you for admitting the blade mistake. Hilarious. Something I could easily do. What a waste of meat and cheese though. 🤦♂️
