I used to have their albums on repeat when I was doing ecological data analysis in R. I would recommend you also the album "Biome" my Organic Patterns for a similar vibe.
I don't see the top comment that said this anymore, but the voice starting at 4:17 is repeating the Drake Equation (N = R* • fp • ne • fl • fi • fc • L). The Drake Equation is a prediction model for determining how many other planets in our universe might have life on them. I know someone already commented this, but I couldn't find their comment anymore so I'm guessing it got buried. Hoping this stays up top so more people can learn about this equation, it's really cool.
The beauty of their albums is the non-ironic embrace of positivity, mystery : it's exactly what happened to that mid 90's vibe you've been missing for 20 years.

Man, this album is a modern era Mozart or Beethoven or some shit. The spectrum of raw emotions it triggers in my brain is insane. Something like a post capitalism utopian future when humanity is conquering the Galaxy, already solved our problems on Earth and just moved on with evolution. And all the evil, the exploitation, the wars, the suffering of human race is finally behind us, our problems and goals are now cosmic level, we need to explore, discover, conquer the infinite star ocean. Both hatred and love are purely human emotions, though extremes tend to be dangerous in most regards. What's noticeable - the more someone talks about love/hatred or the need for the world to change, the more it seems to reflect traumas, some stuff that triggered the focus on emotions in the 1st place.
I agree. When I listen to this album, and most CBL transmissions, I have the experience of being "spoken to" from some other realm. It is an experience of being reminded of why I am here; my purpose, my path, my mission for this most special time here on Earth. Thus the name of this album is so appropriate ... "World of Sleepers" that are being awakened.

It just looks like the perfect world is here, represented by CBL community and this kind of "pull my soul appart"-music. I truely love how Photosynthesis is running our veins and showing the truth to our modests illuminated hearts. That's extremly harsh and softly intense.

Been listening to these peeps for almost a decade and a half. Carbon Based Lifeforms really left their soul in these albums. It's pure, it's majestic, and lends itself very well to a "striving for progress" vibe that's dynamic, but ultimately leans positive. I don't ever feel any sour dips in these albums (World Of Sleepers/Interloper/Hydroponic Garden). They bring a unique soundscape that I've yet to find a match for. I've meditated to these albums, done healing work to these albums. I've found heaven amongst hell with these songs. I hope they do the same for you and may all our circumstances lean positive with a striving for progress vibe, yeah? :)
Sometimes I wonder while listening this kind of music, or smelling certain perfumes from the 90's and early 2000...how the hell this society ended up like it is nowdays? Don't you feel people got dumber in the last 2 decades? The old topic about ''the spirit of the age''.

Instrumental music allows a musician’s creativity to run wild, and compositions can be quite abstract, allowing people to interpret music in their own way. Betula Pendula possibly has the most calm and melancholic ambient melody I've ever heard. Discovering CBL's existence back in 2012 changed my life forever.

Hands down, one of the best albums mankind ever created. CBL is my escape from this world ... I mean when I listen to "Photosynthesis" it just gives me chills and I find myself wondering in Amazon rain forests .... my goodness.
dont you mean the best album a computer has made?i think humanity creates finer music.when inspired...and with teknology and synthesisers...who knows?lmao it is an amazing creation tho........
@ jeff endersby The computer is the instrument. The human is the user. The only thing that has changed is the adaptation to different methods to produce sounds.
good old days, listening to this as a teenager 12 years ago now coming back as an adult . This album brings peace , kindness, love for everything around us . Genial 🧡
this is by far the best album i have ever heard. it saved my life because it made me wake up. wake up to be able to enjoy life as pure magic, every single moment with every aspect. it also made me become even more audiophil that i ever thought i could be. luckily i'm going to be a music producer by myself - can't wait to discover all the mysteries of the world of high quality audio. CBL is by far the biggest sonic inspiration there ever was for me.
You said it saved your life. And you said you wanted to discover all the mysteries of of sound. That’s good n great. But one thing you need more than all that is heart. And if you’re not absolutely in love and obsessed I mean be willing to donate a kidney or testicle. You’ll just end up being a producer I’ve heard before. Don’t get me wrong it seems like you enjoy it enough but you need that special electronic element that energy.! My name isn’t Scott I’m just a guy who is absolutely in love with producing the sacred even more than when I got my first DJ setup and downloaded my first DAW. That was more than 20 years ago. Good luck on your journey. Godspeed!!!
What is he said right, but also remember, not every path is made of 100% inspiration all the time. The paintbrush tortures the painter at times, the keyboard haunts the writer. Just move forward and re-evaluate later :) @@scottdavis5604
This album is a masterpiece and a phenomenon, I fell in love with psybient since I heard "Abiogenesis". All the tracks are awesome, but "Abiogenesis" is a freedom, a black hole of transcendence, every time I listen to it I have a feeling that I'm falling into space and the whole world is collapsing. Never thought that one album would give me so much joy and a strange feeling that my mind is floating in space and I am just a disembodied spirit. Thank you for that experience, CBL.
For me abiogenesis was like a sober day mdma trip. I was just walking on a bridge on top of sea, and this track started playing. Suddenly euphoria hit me like a tidal wave and all the colours and lights became so friggin' more clearer. I had to lean on to the side bar of the big bridge and just inhale the sea air and enjoy the ride. Eversince that I always connect to this infinite love from the soundwaves (and especially the female vocals after the drop!!) from this specific track. One of those tracks that I personally will never forget, and always tune in to this infinite love.
I listened to this album so many times at so many occassions, that I literally can snapshot each of those songs to any memories from situations that I've had.
Best ambient album ever. Its my muse for writing, and since listening my poetic output has doubled in quality and quantity. The music gives the mind a lot to think about and say about our wonderful planet.
I really love this album. It is like underwater ambient and it helps everytime to calm down. Since the last few years psychedelic ambient / electronic become more and more important. This band, Solar Fields, Shpongle, Entheogenic, Mystical Sun, Slackbaba, The Infinity Project, Chronos, Androcell, Ott, all great artists.
if you like "underwater" ambient, try out subnautica's soundtrack apart from the few techno tracks, the rest are ambient-level stuff and it's pretty cool
Oh man, words cannot describe the multitude of feelings I'm associating with this album. The first time I've ever tried MDMA, I was a petite, 18 year old girl, and I snorted about 230 mg in one line. The last thing I was able to perform before melting into an amorphous biomass of serotonin-drenched love particles was putting WOS on full volume. My body spent the night laying lifeless, hot and naked in satin duvet, but I felt like my mind was sober for the first time ever.
CBL videos are the only places I feel good about reading internet comments. The power of this music to spread positive vibes :) I wish I could up-thumb each and every one.
нет. даже близко- ничего подобного. для меня- это как ехать в машине по дороге, а за окном проплывают пейзажи. no absolutely not. it is like to watch the landscapes when you driving
I listen to ambient music to fuel my rage against the laws of thermodynamics and the futility of mortality. Fuck your healing, you damned hippies. Teehee! ^_^
@@konstantingrudnev8374 thanks for the suggestions! Especially Ascendant I love. But still...CBL sticks out for me with their tracks, I guess because they are also really good at song writing or arrangement which in combination with their ambient/space approach is really great.
So I ate 7 grams of mushrooms today and died to this. Oh my God man. I cried at the fucking beauty. I never listened to a whole set of CBL until now. Definitely carved its place in my heart and soul. Mush Love
@@davidvaughn9562 - The content of your disproportional response to my post just oozes with low self-esteem and anger. You are obviously an individual who is ruled by their emotions and easily triggered - swearing at somebody you don't even know; hiding behind a pseudonym to feel safe; accusing others of judging while you show no discretion at all in judging others (re-read your post to me for a good dose of what a person with an "empty miserable life without meaning" sounds like) - I'm truly sorry that you are suffering... I had no idea that you were not emotionally stable enough to receive some reciprocal advice which you seem to give so freely to others (a sure sign of a personality disorder, which probably needs some attention). I can see that you have some real issues you are dealing with. Fill yourself with good, pleasant thoughts and PLEASE, don't take this out on others you come across in your life, which must be very difficult for you indeed. If you must, hurt yourself before trying to hurt another person who will not have any idea why you're acting out. I'm very impressed with this music; and, "If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is 'thank you,' it would suffice." --Meister Eckhart So, ...THANKS!!
This album is KING. I've been a huge fan of CBL ever since hearing this organic-vibrating masterpiece of an album for the first time 15 years ago. There is soo much feel in this! and they have actually created their own vibe and unique sound(In an industry where most musicians only go for the quick popularity by copying others music). CBL are real creators and its wonderful because its made for the music(not the money), with SOUL. hats of! And by the way; All their albums are great listening experiences. Thank you CBL for being original, for putting your love in this music!

My favorite album of all time. Every track compliments each other. Flytta Dig is my top pick there is just something amazing about it. It was the first song i heard from the album and it just touched my emotions. The first time i heard that synth kick in i just got all teary eyed. It just makes me appreciate how wonderful and amazing life and the world is which i feel is what this album represents in general along with the idea of freeing yourself and seeing things as they are.
I thought I was one of the only people that liked CBL, because I'd never met anyone in person who did.. So glad to see a following on here! Thanks for posting
It is not often I come back to a track a few years later and still love it. Music that does that is timeless, most CBL tracks fit my "timeless" definition.
The dialogue at the 24-26 minute mark is from the movie Solaris, "there are no answers, only choices" it is the American remake starring George Clooney. I would recommend it. Both the Russian original and the remake.
For me this is the best CBL release EVER, especially World of sleepers....and Photosynthesis, because it brings me to true inner peace. And thank you for the upload my psychedelic friend :)
As a keyboardist, amature musicsian and perveyor of ambient music "this is the reason" I began playing synthesizers in the late 1970's. Epic composition!
Wow, listened to this 5 years ago, then I listened to the UA-cam recommendations every day since, and finally ended up back here today. It has been an incredible journey of discovery.
A one special girl from London introduced me to this music before the albums came out, she changed my life of being with abakus california sunshine and vibrasphere back in the summer of 2008 when we got together, since then we've found good diverse music ultimae records and tens of artists like andromeda/chromosome/soulsurfer, it was magic, ultimae is a very good good part of the psy culture as a whole almbient psy, don't let anyone tell you this is another scene it's all inside the psy, we are one. Domzdream i know it was a while ago you sent this comment but can i ask then.. is it wrong to steal that one precious moment then?! I know you mean materialistic things. but stealing is stealing essentially! besides that though hope you enjoyed Christmas and all the best for 2017! Provided its free of course lol
Domzdream besides how can this amazing music be shared and loved by everyone if you had to pay. i like the fact he just likes to share his talent and passion. No amount of money could buy that now hey! 😋
Jeff like to see you even attempt to create music like this
@ jeff endersby The computer is the instrument.

Woob - Woob 1194, check it out, tracks 1 and 4, especially.
Thank you for that experience, CBL.
if you like this, listen to constance of the ovarians by Jealous Tiger reign. It is a black hole of transcendence

Seems like a dmt or psilocybin trip!
One of those tracks that I personally will never forget, and always tune in to this infinite love.
what about stealing electricity?
It used to be “classic rock” or not at all. Now, this is my new “old man” music 😍! Love it! Very, very' nice to listen to.
Where is Mystic Crock on this good list of artists?
not to mention klaus schulze
Shpongle
My reply is just to remember the bands that you named bro
if you like "underwater" ambient, try out subnautica's soundtrack
apart from the few techno tracks, the rest are ambient-level stuff and it's pretty cool
Recently i stumbled upon CBL and immediately fell in love with their Music.
This is literally the single most profound and important album I have ever heard in my entire life.
Carbon .Based Of all the CBL albums, this is my favourite.
hell yeah
+Carbon .Based I think Lowkeys "Soundtrack to the struggle" is probably a bit more profound and important
+Vlad the Inhaler depends on your definition of profound and important
+dankcro Wonder if CBL think this is one of their most profound and important albums?
Oh man, words cannot describe the multitude of feelings I'm associating with this album. The first time I've ever tried MDMA, I was a petite, 18 year old girl, and I snorted about 230 mg in one line. The last thing I was able to perform before melting into an amorphous biomass of serotonin-drenched love particles was putting WOS on full volume. My body spent the night laying lifeless, hot and naked in satin duvet, but I felt like my mind was sober for the first time ever.
Awesome comment , really took me there . Although mdma and cbl are meant for dancing !
@@hobbes8737 next time try LSD or shrooms :)
lol you did a relaxation wrong

Carbon Based Lifeforms - Photosynthesis 12:50-------The best!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This type of music is just incredible to me...its like you can see the music, feel it in your body...no drugs needed
Imma try it with some acid, seems like it'll mix well
@@nielsssg how was it? Ive listened to this while tripping before and i think it legit intensifies your trip :D
CBL videos are the only places I feel good about reading internet comments. The power of this music to spread positive vibes :) I wish I could up-thumb each and every one.
the cool thing about this specific thing is you can’t quite put finger on it and gauge it like you would with other things
I love learning biology with this album. Especially departments about cells, bacteries, bryophytes and jellyfishes. Science was never more beautiful
I would never even believe that anything sounded THIS good !! AND all the way through? WOOOOOOOOW
hidden gems!
One of the greatest things i heard in this life
I came here after listening to a Biosphere album and i'm truly amazed, what a discovery !
Better than the remastered Spotify version IMO. One of the most important albums for me, if not the most.
My mind is literally blown away with this beauty. Who needs anything when you can just listen to this🥰😃
So you mean John Lennon was wrong when he said "all you need is love"?
@@andrasidansjon313 Don't you realise that this music IS encapsulated Love?

Every person should listen to Ambient music to heal pain
Nabil Khan Sujoy i do..! Music heal my pain...allways! 💔💉🎶✨🌕✨❣️♥️
No pain - no gain
нет. даже близко- ничего подобного.
для меня- это как ехать в машине по дороге, а за окном проплывают пейзажи.
no absolutely not. it is like to watch the landscapes when you driving
.... Nope
I listen to ambient music to fuel my rage against the laws of thermodynamics and the futility of mortality.
Fuck your healing, you damned hippies. Teehee! ^_^
For me, no other ambient artists can reach the unique atmosphere and sense of melody and emotion that Carbon Based Lifeforms have.
Cell, Ott, Echo Season, Ascendant, Suduya
@@konstantingrudnev8374 thanks for the suggestions! Especially Ascendant I love.
But still...CBL sticks out for me with their tracks, I guess because they are also really good at song writing or arrangement which in combination with their ambient/space approach is really great.
Exactly how I feel...
after years of listening to cbl, i find this to be my favorite album.
CBL music makes me remember random moments of forgotten dreams
Слушаете, наверное, всё подряд... Бог вам в помощь, и, фотосинтез, на всякий случай... Мне, однажды, помогло)😊
CBL is in my all time top 5. As good for concentration as pumping up; a wicked combo...
So I ate 7 grams of mushrooms today and died to this.
Oh my God man. I cried at the fucking beauty. I never listened to a whole set of CBL until now.
Definitely carved its place in my heart and soul.

@@davidvaughn9562 It's possible to do both. Open your mind. Now try to enjoy your life without judging others.
I hope that you're an adolescent and not an adult... if you are an adult, then you have my sympathies. Good luck with all that.
@ Christopher Moss: Thank you, Chris, for sharing your interesting and beautiful experience with all of us! I'm very impressed with this music; and, "If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is 'thank you,' it would suffice." --Meister Eckhart So, ...THANKS!!
After 11 years it still hits… Masterpiece! ❤
For me their first album the path is the best album, from late 90s too . Nobody was making music lime that back then .
Been listening to ambient all my 53 year old life , this is the one album I’ll take into the next life

One couldn't come up with a better name for an ambient album than "World Of Sleepers".

My favorite album of all time. Every track compliments each other. Flytta Dig is my top pick there is just something amazing about it. It was the first song i heard from the album and it just touched my emotions. The first time i heard that synth kick in i just got all teary eyed. It is not often I come back to a track a few years later and still love it. Music that does that is timeless, most CBL tracks fit my "timeless" definition.
