Geez! So many years ago, and I still remember it!
these were literally FLIP BOOK movies! BUT I loved them so much! #CaptainAmerica! woot!
The sound effects are hilarious 😂
Call in the Sandman to put them back to sleep.
I seen this on November 12 1966. Back then this was the real deal. I even made a home made model of the 3 sleeper made from electrical tape, cardboard and plastic. I attached some string to the wing. I was able to spin it around like they did with the gas powered model airplanes they had back then.
That sounds wonderful! I wish I could have seen it.
This episode was the one that they seemed to replay too much in my area. I found it boring and never made it passed that first walking sleeper. I do love your retrospective and comments on these. also its very relaxing watching you pet the cat and I learned a little bit listening to you talk about tv repair and transistors in another video. Perfect recipe for delight. Thanks so much! Keep em coming if you can.
Ohhhh Doc! My favorite story line! Yeee-haw!
On the money, like always.😊
🎵 "Thank you very much, Mr. Roboto
For doing the jobs that nobody wants to" 🎵
Don't let it end. I'm begging you.
The Red Skull should have created Skynet instead.
😎
You might know this but metv is getting a spinoff channel based on old cartoons
The Sleeper amalgamation might have gone to the nearest pole because of the whole Agartha/hollow earth mythology that Jack Kirby liked to draw from - like the Savage Land, for example. The Sleepers wouldn't even have had to dig with a good enough portal/cave. Note - this explanation is not an endorsement in the belief in a hollow earth, but this is Marvel comics, and hidden subterranean worlds are lots of fun.
The Fourth Sleeper is probably the most famous of them.
No, his name is Ringo.
LOL!
That was a quite a gizmo Red Skull came up with. I bet Germany could have used it during the war, instead of it being a 20 year spoilsport measure in case they lost.
I would have thought Cap would have turned over this kind of intelligence to army intelligence as part of his mission debriefings. Cap might be able to fight like a one man army, he doesn't have to be a one man army.
I'd complain about the ending, but attacking the weak spot of a superweapon is pretty standard in adventure fiction. It just helps if you mention that a small thermal exhaust port right below the main port leads directly to the main reactor, instead of just getting a blowtorch and a parachute and doing... something... that makes it go kaboom.
& then make a prequel story 39 years later meticulously explaining how that exhaust port was there/worked and the people behind it
I recall how Cap clobbered Bane with his shield in the DC-Marvel crossover series of the 90s.
"High pressure air fans" wtf, you'd think they would use something much higher tech!!!
Captain America went to the North Pole because of the North Pole is closer to the Earth's core. This because of the Centrifugal force of the Earth's rotation causes the lower latitudes to bulge out.
Did he enlist Santa Claus to help?
Do the sleepers remind anyone of Godzilla and Rodan?
My understanding of Red Skull is he was the head of Hydra, which is a division of the Nazi Party. But his goals were far "greater" than Adolfs so he often was doing his own thing under the guise of it being for the Fuhrer, so he could do what he pleases and doesnt have ol Adolfs eyes trained on him. Of course thats my understanding of 1960s era Captain America onward, not sure how it was in the Golden Age storys
At this time in the comic history Hydra either didn't exist yet or nobody knew about it. It wasn't mentioned until the Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD appeared.
@@dwashbur ah that makes sense. I never read the earl Cap issues so everything I know about it is through videos over the years😆 cheers irv
Well, that was boring. The story seemed to be 99.9% Cap standing around talking while people were dying/having their homes destroyed and 5% action with a final battle that lasted seconds. What else was going on in that issue that the editors thought needed to be cut down to this? I can only hope it was more interesting and that Cap didn't come off quite so useless until the end.
Nope. The comic story was pretty much just like this.
@@dwashbur oh, well, that's disappointing. Good to know anyway.
YOU KNOW JUST SHOW THE CARTOON IN IT'S FULL COMPASITY AND STOP TRYING TO EXPLAIN THE CARTOON .
PLAY THE CARTOON AND LEAVE THE NARRATION OUT.
Um...........no.
The narrative part is funny!😂
