- When Tyranus, ruler of a subterranean kingdom, kidnaps Betty Ross as a prelude to invading the surface, Rick Jones and the Hulk have to follow them underground to rescue her. But they all suddenly find themselves caught in a war between Tyranus and the Mole Man.

Some of these episodes are wildly disjointed, but that is part of the charm. The two comics this story were pulled from are at least three years apart, bookending the Leader saga.
I guess we should be grateful that it's Tyranus rather than Uranus that the Hulk is entering.

🤓 Man , Irving the whole Marvel loving audience definitely needed you when these fun episodes originally played. Yeah , I know you were just a kid yourself but your inner adult would have certainly been most welcomed! 🤔 Then again , maybe we all came to the same conclusions when watching these recreations of comic book issues. Hah , didn't we all have issues just being kids! Hulk and Namor my ever lovin' top favorite MSH characters but that didn't mean I wasn't watching the show every Sunday afternoon in my part of antenna acrobatics neighborhood. Loved seeing both Hulk and your cat relaxing a!ongside you👍.

Something to note about the random time jump, and the fact that Tyranus suddenly looks like a raisin; In the actual Hulk comic book, Hulk's battle with Tyranus was one of his earliest adventures, but after the original six issue run, the Hulk would only really come around for side stories or the like, until Tales to Astonish came around and had the Hulk and Ant-Man as a double-whammy. During this time, the Hulk would encounter Tyranus once more, though because of the time jump, the old king's look had changed significantly. Something to note.
It wouldn't matter if Betty told her Dad anything. To capture the Hulk would make Gen. Ross's career. And all he would do is use Betty as bait to lure the Hulk into a trap.
I think bruce biggest mistake was that he never told anyone except Rick his secret he should have told general ross it right after the first transformation i think that would have solved all his problems but thats just my conclusion.??
Ross was out to capture, subdue and study the Hulk from day one. Bruce knew what would happen to him if the general ever found out.

Quick... transform to the Hulk! Don't bother removing your clothes or eyeglasses first. Banner might be a genius, but he doesn't have common sense.
Conquer the surface world? He doesn't have a big enough army to keep the Mole Man away. Besides, even if he won, the Sub-Mariner might just take it away from him before the Skrulls came from space and become the next masters. Some old-timers in the Baltic States would just nod along, saying they've seen all this before, and their grandchildren will see it all again.
For all his faults, Tyranus at least was smart enough to recruit the Hulk. Ross doesn't want to do that. His army got their ass kicked by the creature, so his ego seems to want to prove they can win in a rematch. The main threat the Hulk poses to his ego.
Darth Tyranus aka Count Dooku wouldve been a much better villian. Unfortunately for the writers, he wasnt created until another 40 years later (and is apart of a completely different IP)
