I'm literally dying because I remember you looking exactly like this 😂 I'm pretty sure I have a picture of you in this stage, I'll send it to you once I find it 🙌🏻
You barely started talking about the eyeliner and I was like, "Oh, she's gonna bust out a lighter!!!". You would absolutely have to do this if you used the old school Mabelline black liner that were a red color on the outside. They literally wouldn't work unless you torched them.
+moriah montoya omg! I was literally just thinking about that red maybelline liner and how it needed a lighter to make it work. So dangerous, what were we thinking?
I got grounded from makeup part of my sophomore year but me being super insecure absolutely could not go to school without at least face makeup, so I managed to sneak foundation and eyeliner and I would put it on in the morning once I got to school and take it off in the bathroom right before school got out, I did this for months, I would hide the products in my pillow case(why wouldn't I just put it in my locker?) and dear god once my mom came to school to drop something off and lord i ran to the bathroom to scrub the f out of my face before it was too late.
+Kaylah Merithen ahh I got in a lot of trouble for, well, I'm not proud to admit it, but shoplifting. I had a lot of stuff taken away for a long time. And makeup they knew was a huge thing for me so bye bye.
omg! i was super insecure in high school too.. although it wasn't until junior and senior year that i got into makeup. Once i got into makeup it became my security blanket. Senior year was when i was not able to go to school without makeup. I was probably the most insecure person ever!!!! I wish I would have took time to realize the beauty in me and that I did not need the makeup.
I'm in high school right now and i cant even come out of my room with makeup, i have severe anxiety attacks when i dont wear it, and i didnt wear any to school on friday, and after almost bursting into tears the first 10 minutes i realized that nobody even noticed, it felt great to let my skin breath 😊
Why are Hispanic parents so strict???? 😣😣😣 Mine did not let me do anything that they couldn't do with me. I never saw my friends outside of school. I'm 24 and I feel like I'm still learning how to socialize. I'm the oldest of 6 and of course my younger siblings get to do whatever they want now. 😑 P.S. I rocked the crunchy-looks-soaking-wet-hair like everyday in highschool. 😂😂
that lighter trick is a CLASSIC seventeen magazine trick! for all the kids out there, one page spreads in seventeen magazine were our only tutorials. which is why every 30 something has a sweet jacked up look from high school 😁 myself included
I went through all those phases too! Chola in freshman (so bad), punker/scene kid sophmore year, surfer girl style Jr. year and then IFGAF look senior year hahahaha!
I had the same upbringing. My dad would ask me why I would want to spend the night at a friends house when I had my own. Now that I am older, I appreciate my parents being strict with me. I am the person I am because of them. 😊
By the way, I just stumbled upon your channel earlier this week thanks to the ride or die tag. Let me just say, I spend the whole week watching your videos! Haha
Laura Gaona Same here, Im from Bosnia and my dad always said the same thing to me. Im 28 years old and he is still super strict on me it drives me crazy to this day but i know he just cares about me and I would rather have that than parents who dont give a crap!!
Obviously, you are misunderstanding what I said, Never did I say parents don't give a crap about them if they let them stay somewhere lol ...so let me explain what i meant.. In GENERAL, I would rather have a parent be a bit more strict than not give a crap about me!! Hope you have a great day. :)
for people who are asking if she is Mexican and why is she a Mexican with green eyes this is the reason why Mexico was conquered by Spain so we are mixed that's why we're called Mexicans especially people from Guadalajara tend to be blonde looking green and blue eyes that's my sister she looks blonde with blue eyes hundred percent Mexican we have White Mexicans too
Alina Garofalo thank you for this!! Some people are stupid as hell! Yes! I'm Mexican I'm from Guadalajara my mom has green eyes and I have tias who have blue eyes! I have a little Spaniard in me. I swear white people need to go back too school! Mexicans aren't all brown skin! Shit.
I thought she was European and East Asian. She looked Asian to me because she has the high cheekbones with a strong jaw and dark hair, along with the inner eye corner. Then I thought she was Europeans because of her eyes and dark eyebrows (most asians don't have thick eyebrows). But then I got messed up when she was talking in Spanish. Thanks
It's actually called a makeup hack these days. 😂 Look it up on Pinterest or even look up makeup hacks here on UA-cam. People who've never heard of this are always amazed. ;o)
Emma Sadberry I learned this from my mom... maybe it's and 80s thing lol I remember when I began buying my own makeup I was so excited to share my (no heat necessary) eye liner with my mom.
Forever Seeking Could very well be an 80's thing as I remember back then my bff's older cousin used to melt her eye pencil with matches/lighter. We would watch her in awe as she got ready. She also had the perfect "fan" pouf of teased bangs, lol
i think the chola look was def a Hispanic thing, i remember i wanted to dress like that, wanted big hoop earrings and i would put mousse in my hair and scrunch it up. lol but my bro and my mom didnt rly let me cause we lived in the hood lmao
I lived in the hood too.... so my mom was horrified, she probably thought I was involved in something bad when really i just like the chola style hahaha
Ah same ! I could never sleepover , or hang out as much bc I would be from the Calle if I went out too much ! I never felt like I could be close to people bc of that :( but I'm a little thank ful bc I never got out of line nor did I make bad friendships or go down a bad row .
You ARE NOT the only one hunny who burned your eyeliner I did it every single time and I think that's how my sister taught me.....and I TOO wore the dark liner and lighter lipstick I didn't wear gloss but they STILL sell those rollerball glosses and my mother was strict as well but I WAS allowed to wear makeup!!! Lol lol lol lol my first shadow I wore in 8th grade was YELLOW I loved it I thought I looked so beautiful until my sisters friend said to me one time Jennifer you are wearing that all wrong and it's DEFINITELY not the right shade for you or ANYONE lmao of course I defended myself blah blah blah let's just say I've NEVER worn yellow eyeshadow SINCE!!!! I love these types of videos so fun they are just a throw back and I started high school in 1989 so 🤔🤔 thanks for sharing girl I thought you actually looked GREAT cuz as woman as we mature we get better with age!! We get more beautiful with age so....that's why it didn't look so terrible!!!! 🤷🏻♀️
I Did the exact same makeup except I used a peach color gloss lol. I AM DYING BECAUSE THIS WAS MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAHAHHAHA!!! Everything SAME!! Parents, hair, makeup, no sleep overs, all of it WOW!! I just love you gurl... Love the video, inspiration and the laughs :) You are amazing!!
Melissa I loved hearing about your high school experience. I also had the super strict Latino parents and I know all about the not being able to do anything. Love you! So relatable
"this whole video is like a big question mark, why, WHY?!?!" lol i laughed so much! and I was hypnotised by your brown lip liner ahaha! your final speech was so sweet, my parents were really strict too and didn't allow me to stay out late or go to the disco like all my friends when i was in high school, so i totally get how you were feeling
and LOL when i was in like 4th grade i wanted my hair straight & i lived w my grama and she didn't have a straightener n neither did i so i layed my head on the iron board & she "straightened it HAHAH.
Haha i've used those roller lip glosses (maybe back in 2008) I thought my lips were POPPIN' with those 😂 And maybe this isn't necessarily a chola make up look, but more of a usual latina look? The hoops, the eyeliner on the bottom with some mascara on, the clear lip gloss, and thin eyebrows, because i would wear all that lol well except the lip liner
lol went through the same phase, parents super strict did my makeup in school bathroom real quick, mascara the brown lip liners was not dark enough for my taste I did dark brown eyeliner on my lips 😂 huge hoops, the crunchy hair with the clip that holds your hair at the front top, straightened with the iron too oh lord walking around feeling myself 😗
Give Matt a chance! California is waaaaay better than the last album Blink-182 released, still with Tom. I went back to being a superfan again. The new album is the only thing I've been listening to since it was released! *-*
+Melissa Alatorre I wish I could go soooo bad! You have no idea. I'm from Brazil, so it's kinda difficult right now. :'( Maybe one day... What about you?
omg I LOVE this video! I am Mexican and my mama was STRICT AF! I had to sneak out to have fun but always got caught haha. I had thin brows and my makeup was very similar. minus the lips lol. But I can totally relate to being left out. so crazy how life is and how we think "back then" it was so horrible! great video,,, it was like going down memory lane! Stay Beautiful 😍
The part about parents and feeling left out. brought tears to my eyes. literally a flashback from high school. the whole video took me back to high school lol. Great Video. freshman year was also my Chola phase 😂😂
Omg! This is the exact look the girls would do in middle school! And I wanted to do the chocolate lip liner with glossy topper sooooo bad! I'm so glad my mom never let me lol! I did do the slicked back hair with the 2 strands of hair that looked like antennas!
Omg! This takes me back to my high school chola days! I would and still curl my eyelashes with a spoon. I would also straighten my hair with an iron! Crazy how we used to do things back in the old days! Great video!!
after hearing your story I had to subscribe. I had the same upbringing and strict Mexican parents. You are the one beauty guru I feel like I can relate to. ☺
Those roller lip glosses were the bomb! hahaha :) I also used to iron my friend's hair with a clothing iron. >_< But I ironed her hair on the floor lolz
Lmao I did the same thing with the lighter! Lol. And this is the most like My high school makeup days. I graduated in 03 but of course I had To be like my sister who graduated in 99, which was at the heart of the chola phase. And I had to wear the same lips as her, which of course was a brown eyeliner! Lol I still remember the name teakwood, I think it was revlon, gold packaging, I think they still have it. Lol. Good times. I remember a "friend" telling me my lipstick looked like I was sucking on a a-hole. Omg that stuck with me, and I think that's wen I went to a Mac counter not long after. Lmao. Then I upgraded to cork lip liner with c thru lipgloss. Lol still chola but not as crazy. Lmao.
you look beautiful with any make up look lol.. you would have rocked that look in high school.. and yes everyone worries too much in high school and its only getting worse my daughter does the same thing.. sometimes she takes a day off because she cant deal with whats happening there.. ive actually had that same talk with her .. exactly what you said .. your parents must be two very good looking people to have such a beautiful girl.
By the way I'm glad I wasn't the only one to burn my eyeliner in HS lol I'm pretty sure I would just use my mom's lighter because I think she taught me this or my best friend did
Your teen years sound EXACTLY like mine! Strict parents, couldn't spend the night with friends, no parties, no makeup. Hmmm, maybe that's why I love makeup so much now?! LOL 😄 Great video!!
This was so much fun for reminiscing!! And you are just the sweetest person ever!!! Love Love Love you!!!! You are so relatable and genuine.....I didn’t expect such a beautiful girl to feel vulnerable in high school...like I did...I still have the same best friend but my step monster was mean as hell to me and my siblings...she was nice to her kids...and they are still hateful as ever. She made our lives hell but thank God we both went to college married wonderful men! It’s so sweet of you to help people that maybe fell sad or left out never know things may be wonderful right around the corner (for me moving out was AMAZING!!) Hold on life gets better especially when we have the choice to change your own life. If something doesn’t work..that’s cool just move on try new things until you find what really fits for you!! Enjoy your life! Take these gorgeous Lilac eyes out and feel beautiful!!!
OMG!!! I completely remember the lighter trick. That was a big thing to do in the eighties and in the 90s especially if you wore cheap eyeliner. The heavy dark lip liner was so popular too. Looking back now, I can't imagine why. Anyway, love this video, it was a lot fun.
My parents were strict with me too. They never left me with a telephone or let me go to prom or get my drivers license. I missed out on alot of school experiences that my other siblings had. Still bothers me but now that i have kids of my own i will never let them miss out on anything purposely. U are becoming one of my favorite youtubers. Cant wait for your next video!!
WOW! This is legit a blast from the past for me. I used to take a lighter to my NYC eyeliner pencil, too. And I DEFINITELY did my lips the same way, way back in 6th grade all the way through my freshman year of HS. Never wore face makeup because I too had peach fuzz and I hated how it set on my face. I understand! I totally understand this look!!!!
TOM NEEDS TO COME BACK TO THE BAND!! I went to see Blink live in Pennsylvania a few weeks ago and I was so sad Tom Delonge wasn't there. He was my favourite! Subscribed right away 💕💕💕💕
I'm also surprised your eyebrows grew back so nice and full. Since my older sister did the same in high school and now her eyebrows are no where to b found.
And I adored chocolate lip liner too! But I paired it with my foundation all other my lips instead of lipstick (I couldn't afford a nude lipstick back then)
YEP! This was THE look back in the 90's! Even white girls in my home town did this! I loved it but never thought I could pull it off so I was the weirdo covered in glitter everything!
I had a similar HS experience with strict parents and not being able to do ANYTHING so I was always left out, and I graduated without a single friend in my life. Now, only 4 months later and in college, I look back and definitely regret not finding something to get involved in or just do because now I will have no high school stories to tell my kiddos when I'm older. I can totally attest to what you were saying. Anyway, this is my my fave HS make-up video so far, had me dying. 💖
Lol omg my sisters use to iron there hair on the table and my dumb butt was monkey see monkey do that I wanted to straighten my already straightened hair lol my hair was never the same after that lol
I did my eyeliner like this in middle school too! As for the mascara technique, i can relate, because my eyes are too wide for eyelash curlers so when i use them half my lashes curl and the other half are straight. Thank you for taking us down memory lane!
OMG yasssss I totally rocked this look as well and yes my hair was ironed on the ironing board too lol ughhhhh teens today are so lucky to have UA-cam and flat irons Hahahahahahah
i guess in nyc its not "chola" look its just a look we did l;ol but i relate to the strict rules and the having to be left out and to have to sneak make up the only think missing is the white eye liner although i loved blk liner i still do lol i love this ty ty
I actually still do the mascara trick on my minimal makeup days. Especially with my blond lashes it ensures that i get them fully black - up until the root. Plus they don't look clumpy, but natural. Granted, I use one coat first to style my lashes, and later on a second coat for volume.
HAHA I totally did the mascara thing! I actually never gave eyeshadow a chance because I knew the mascara would ruin it. These throwback videos are gold!
I'm literally dying because I remember you looking exactly like this 😂 I'm pretty sure I have a picture of you in this stage, I'll send it to you once I find it 🙌🏻
yasssss cousin comes through for the WIN!!! text it to me when you find it hahahaha
+Melissa Alatorre where's the photoo?? haha
OMG that's why I love you lol I can relate with you so much! Lol ❤️❤️
Am I the only one that thinks her eye makeup looks kinda good? 😰
i know right!? lol i think she looks gorgeous ..except the lips part lol
Chloe Ross yes, I think it looks great, but then I did the same thing through highschool and university. Lol.
Chloe Ross it does
cuz she already has pretty eyes
She does look good with that eye makeup
omg I was so scared you were serious about tweezing, your brows are so beautiful!
I ironed my hair too omg hahha! loved this video...memories lol
Same!!!
she actually looks so pretty like this
she would look so much better without the lipliner and just gloss
You barely started talking about the eyeliner and I was like, "Oh, she's gonna bust out a lighter!!!". You would absolutely have to do this if you used the old school Mabelline black liner that were a red color on the outside. They literally wouldn't work unless you torched them.
Yess!! Maybelline needed the lighter.
+moriah montoya omg! I was literally just thinking about that red maybelline liner and how it needed a lighter to make it work. So dangerous, what were we thinking?
+Marisa Explains it All I would actually skip the lighter and touch the tip to my curling iron to melt it, then wipe it off.
YASSSS
I used my blow dryer to soften the eyeliner. Or in a pinch I put it in my pocket to let it warmup lol. Oh memories
honestly, i still would do this makeup lmao. beautiful!
SAME!!!!!! Let's bring it back as a trend hahaha
Same!! I would too! :D
Ariel Diaz yes! Haha
Awww, why didn't she let you wear any?
+Kaylah Merithen ahh I got in a lot of trouble for, well, I'm not proud to admit it, but shoplifting. I had a lot of stuff taken away for a long time. And makeup they knew was a huge thing for me so bye bye.
omg! i was super insecure in high school too.. although it wasn't until junior and senior year that i got into makeup. Once i got into makeup it became my security blanket. light_holy 123 why, if you dont mind me asking?
my mom would use a spoon to curl her lashes... she still does
and she's scared of curlers lmao
They do look like torture devices lol, she is rightfully scared 😂
OMG MINE TOO HAHA
okay but why does she look bomb
Why are Hispanic parents so strict???? 😣😣😣 Mine did not let me do anything that they couldn't do with me. I never saw my friends outside of school. I'm 24 and I feel like I'm still learning how to socialize. I'm the oldest of 6 and of course my younger siblings get to do whatever they want now. 😑
P.S. I rocked the crunchy-looks-soaking-wet-hair like everyday in highschool. 😂😂
Indian parents are the same. It was rough being a teenager
im thankful my ma was never too strict with me bc she didn’t like how strict her ma was on her
Can you PLEASE create a wearable look of the chola look? 🔥🔥🔥😍❤️
Yesss omg
that lighter trick is a CLASSIC seventeen magazine trick! for all the kids out there, one page spreads in seventeen magazine were our only tutorials. which is why every 30 something has a sweet jacked up look from high school 😁 myself included
Ok i literally would tear out pages from magazines n try to copy their look
I went through all those phases too! Chola in freshman (so bad), punker/scene kid sophmore year, surfer girl style Jr. year and then IFGAF look senior year hahahaha!
Oooh girl! and I feel you on being left out. I lived my very mexican grandma and I couldn't do ANYTHING.
Dang, I thought I was the only one.
I had the same upbringing. My dad would ask me why I would want to spend the night at a friends house when I had my own. Now that I am older, I appreciate my parents being strict with me. I am the person I am because of them. 😊

Just because people want to have sleepovers that doesn’t mean their parents don’t give a crap u dumbass

Please do all you stages in high school... The surfer chic and punk makeup looks you did.. Plllleeeeaassse!!!!
for people who are asking if she is Mexican and why is she a Mexican with green eyes this is the reason why Mexico was conquered by Spain so we are mixed that's why we're called Mexicans especially people from Guadalajara tend to be blonde looking green and blue eyes that's my sister she looks blonde with blue eyes hundred percent Mexican we have White Mexicans too

sasha rose mexican people got mixed with asians too :) a lot of people from México looks like chinese or japanese people
Alina Garofalo I’m Mexican and Puerto Rican. White AF. Mexicans, and Latinos in general come in all colors!
Does no one do the lighter thing anymore??? In high school every girl I knew did that LOL
I think eyeliner formulation has improved so the lighter is not really necessary anymore. That's my only theory. Lol!
It's actually called a makeup hack these days. 😂 Look it up on Pinterest or even look up makeup hacks here on UA-cam. People who've never heard of this are always amazed. ;o)
Emma Sadberry what ? I've never heard of this?!

i think the chola look was def a Hispanic thing, i remember i wanted to dress like that, wanted big hoop earrings and i would put mousse in my hair and scrunch it up. lol but my bro and my mom didnt rly let me cause we lived in the hood lmao
I lived in the hood too.... so my mom was horrified, she probably thought I was involved in something bad when really i just like the chola style hahaha
my mom's Arab and she used to do the chola lips too 😂

You look like Monica from friends lol 😁 😁 😁
LOL I can see that in this video
Kat YESSS

Yes please video on shaving the face!
Oh my god I remember my sister in law waking up at 5am and straightening her hair on the floor with an actual iron this is great!😂😂
My older sister did that too. I'm 9 years younger so I remember seeing that and thinking it was really strange
Give Matt a chance!
California is waaaaay better than the last album Blink-182 released, still with Tom. I went back to being a superfan again. The new album is the only thing I've been listening to since it was released! *-*
Ok, I'm taking your word on it and I'm going to give it a listen!
You won't regret. Promise!
+Letícia Martins are you going to any of their concerts this tour???
+Melissa Alatorre I wish I could go soooo bad! You have no idea. I'm from Brazil, so it's kinda difficult right now. :'(
Maybe one day... What about you?
YES California is so good. Plus tom ruined every concert of theirs I went to. He sucks. So amped I get to see them with Matt this weekend.
I love how you are just genuinely happy in your videos!
omg I LOVE this video!

Lmao I did the same thing with the lighter! Lol. And this is the most like
My high school makeup days. I graduated in 03 but of course I had
To be like my sister who graduated in 99, which was at the heart of the chola phase. Lmao.
Lol my mom said back in the 70s she ironed her hair too but she would lay wax paper on it to make it shiny. Good lord. Haha
Hahahahah thank you for making me laugh today!!

you look beautiful with any make up look lol.. you would have rocked that look in high school.. and yes everyone worries too much in high school and its only getting worse my daughter does the same thing.. sometimes she takes a day off because she cant deal with whats happening there.. ive actually had that same talk with her .. exactly what you said .. your parents must be two very good looking people to have such a beautiful girl.
📓📓📓📓📓 love you, Melissa!! This video is super cute!
LOL 😄 Great video!!
gorgeous eyes 😍
Take these gorgeous Lilac eyes out and feel beautiful!!!
omg I use to iron my sister's hair like that!!!!! and she did the slick gel middle part look!!! yaaas girl!!😂😂
OMG!!! I completely remember the lighter trick. That was a big thing to do in the eighties and in the 90s especially if you wore cheap eyeliner. The heavy dark lip liner was so popular too. Looking back now, I can't imagine why. Anyway, love this video, it was a lot fun.
SO loved this!
PS- All us millennial gals totally would lay our hair down on the floor and took an iron to it at some point! ;)
HAHAHA IVE BEEN THERE
My parents were strict with me too.
Am I crazy but you look like Angelina Jolie
True
You are so preeetty ;-; your eye color is flawless!
WHEN YOU TALKED ABOUT BLINK 182 I SCREAMED HOLY SHITTTT I LOVE TOM TOO AHHHHH
omg we did the lighter to eyeliner 😂😂😂
TOM NEEDS TO COME BACK TO THE BAND!! I went to see Blink live in Pennsylvania a few weeks ago and I was so sad Tom Delonge wasn't there. He was my favourite! Subscribed right away 💕💕💕💕
I would tuck my eyelashes in my crease and open my eyes to curl them lol i was scared of curlers too xD
Lol I still do this, I'm still scared I'll accidentally chop my eyelashes off with a curler
Yes! So glad you chose the chola look!
I'm also surprised your eyebrows grew back so nice and full. Since my older sister did the same in high school and now her eyebrows are no where to b found.
i loooove the chola look to this day
😄Ha-ha! Melissa! This video is so funny! I l absolutely love this look and your story about ironing your hair 😂😂👍🏼 I laughed so much!
And I adored chocolate lip liner too! But I paired it with my foundation all other my lips instead of lipstick (I couldn't afford a nude lipstick back then)
This was awesome - I'm from Chicago but I'm much older than you and will never forget the lip look;-)
The eyes really aren't that bad...
YEP! This was THE look back in the 90's! Even white girls in my home town did this! I loved it but never thought I could pull it off so I was the weirdo covered in glitter everything!
Omg I love ur freaking eyes!!!!😍😍
YES!!! A walk down memory lane.... 🤯
That lipliner lmao
😂not afraid of the lighter but afraid of the eyelash curler
this mad me LOL so hard, duuuude... hahahaha what was wrong with me!????
Not afraid of the freaking IRON girl !! x'D
Yasss this whole vid - your high school experience with the whole strict parents thing 💆🏽
is the freshman year the 9th or the 10th grade? I'm from europe that's why I don't know that ☺
9th grade
Stefanie Medina okay thank you 😊
Shejla Valentine for some europeans, technically it would be 10th, but here its 9th because we have kindergarten then 1st and so on
9th is freshman 10th is sophomore 11th is junior and 12th is senior year
Lexy Shay
the order is
freshman
junior
sophomore
senior
and the first is 9th grade
OMG yasssss I totally rocked this look as well and yes my hair was ironed on the ironing board too lol ughhhhh teens today are so lucky to have UA-cam and flat irons Hahahahahahah
You look like Angelina jolie when she had the liner faze. I used to do the litter liner on my water line lol
yess the lighter n eyeliner is a throwback I think its an 80s makeup hack! got it from my mama ;)
i guess in nyc its not "chola" look its just a look we did l;ol but i relate to the strict rules and the having to be left out and to have to sneak make up the only think missing is the white eye liner although i loved blk liner i still do
lol i love this ty ty
I actually still do the mascara trick on my minimal makeup days. Especially with my blond lashes it ensures that i get them fully black - up until the root. Plus they don't look clumpy, but natural. Granted, I use one coat first to style my lashes, and later on a second coat for volume.
LMFAO please everyone admit to doing the eyeliner and lighter thing hahaha I used to do it all the time haha!
I loved this! And the message at the end was so true! I just graduated high school and once I left, it was liberating Love you!!!
You get a new subscriber👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👏🏻
HAHA I totally did the mascara thing! I actually never gave eyeshadow a chance because I knew the mascara would ruin it. These throwback videos are gold!
I totally forgot that I used to melt my eyeliner!!! Oh my god. Such a nightmare. Why did my mother let me out of the house?
Yassss I remember the heated up of the eyeliner LOL!!!!
