Hi Nick, back in the 50's my grandparents had a full-size Chevy that was the same color as Sarah's boat. Her boat is so pretty. Hope her new boat is going to have a pretty color? The car makers should bring back some of those original colors with matching interiors. Sure enjoy watching your videos.
Another great video, thanks for the look at the tackle too, the wahoo worm wasnt necessarily the high point of the video but great to see you and the wife sharing a meal
Its great to see you and your wife out on the water together catching fish. In the early 90's, I would take my Hatteras down to San Salvador, Bahamas from October -March. I would just load up on Wahoo between 30-50 lbs. Watching this video, brings back memories.
@@StanzFam He comes across that way. I took the wildlife management route until i learned it was more about statistics, finished up in the communications school as well. Ohio State. We were just in the Bahamas and I caught two wahoo when you were fishing I was fishing too. It’s pretty cool, but yeah I caught two wahoo and about 10 barracudas
How is Claire 3? Doesn’t seem like I’ve been following you guys that long! Love seeing the girls enjoying the food, especially the sushi (sushimi) my boys act like I’m crazy when I mention eating it! Love all the vids you guys put up!
Nick, is it possible for you to show how to rig? A wahoo setup. I notice you're not using a planer. Are you just using weight? Would you do a a segment on Wahoo setups and rigs.
I did it on a real calm day with spinners and a 15 foot bay boat, now I've got a 21 Boston whaler conquest, some international 50s and I can't wait to get out again
Time flies, Nick!(I’m glad I’m not getting older 😢) I remember when you announced that Sarah was pregnant with Claire. Lotta great vids since. Happy holidays to you all! 👍
Did you make that lure last night hahahaha! I think you’re very proud of that lure making 😂😂. Just messing with ya. You da man on those waters for sure. Congrats on that nice wahoo.
For your next feat you should go after marlin on a SeaDoo ! Can’t believe that a pro went fishing w/o a gaff ! We have a trip to the Keys on our bucket list but until then you and Sara do a great job with keeping us and locked guys up to date the salt life ……Thank
5:35 -- Is it true that wahoo can flop around on deck and bite your toes or ankle off? I've seen videos of professional deckhands on cattleboats yell out "WAHOO ON DECK!" like it's company policy or something to warn everyone.
Bite ankles off? No. Toes maybe. They do have extremely sharp teeth plus if the hook’s still in their mouth then they can be dangerous and seriously hurt someone if you’re not careful. Same goes for mackerel or really any other large strong fish that can thrash around in the boat. The yelling thing you’ve seen is probably just to make sure everyone’s aware. Sometimes when fishing or doing anything offshore, new people will often get in the way”zone” and hyper focus on whatever they’re doing and not pay attention to anything else going on around them. Sometimes yelling is the only way to break through and get them to pay attention
No better eats in our waters imo that blue/pink or a black/pink are Key West $$$$ you can use any color lure as long as its pink 😂😂 That gaff is a 3 inch??? Looks like a heavy 4 regardless its sweet on that carbon stick. Wahoo worm or better known as a market worm (because people see them and leave you the fish) 😂 actually called a Trematode
@@StanzFam Swords will do that but we in Key West know nothing about those critters as you Isla boys have that market cornered!! I would take our Wahoo fishery but as far as Swords go pretty sure your real estate is as good as it gets down this way
There’s all kinds of stories about those worms in wahoo stomachs in most of the Pacific Islands, the one on Nauru is abit like Romeo and Juliette of forbidden lovers who jumped in the sea and were swallowed by a wahoo to live together in its stomach “happily ever after” or something like that.
Haha thanks. I’m ok at it, I will say after a charter when we are ready to go home we aren’t as good, but if it’s just a fish or two we usually take our time. I’ve talked to a couple companies but haven’t found the right fit yet

It's amazing how hot they are, then they slump, almost dead in the water---you know, that's how they got their name, that first run--"wahoo"
