The reality is that before you hit water high enough for your stock engine air intake you’ve probably flooded your transmission breather and then your trans is toast. you need to rebuild it. Even weak seals on a transmission can lead to water ingression. A teaspoon full will kill your trans.
it is a choice between cheap DIY and installation by technicians who claim they can install it like factory specs while charging you an arm. Just gathering ideas, how to. Thanks.
I like the Rigged Ridge for the same reason, the options and where it mounts. I'll have to see if them have it for a TJ. Of all the Jeep channels I watch, I do like yours the best.
@Kaptain Kid really turd boy, you obviously don't know jack shit about the mechanics of a vehicle. If you don't know what I'm talking about, that would explain why you failed jiffy lube college 🤔 💩🤪
Exactly they probably had to rebuild the drive train on that jeep. And exhaust.. But it sure looked fun lol. Also with the splash many traditional snorkels might have sucked water.
You may get a little more induction noise from it, and you may see slightly cooler air intake temperatures, but installing a snorkel is mainly for its water crossing purposes. -Zach
i would want a snorkel if i had a jeep. but there must be a way to run it under the truck and have it come out the top rear of the jeep. its too ugly to be in front. looks like a big leach
Francisco Gonzalez if you get water into your intake it can destroy your engine if it’s enough I can’t say anything about the fuse box cause I’ve never had experience with water ruining it
GOT RUST? Driving your vehicle under water will greatly shorten its life. ALL air inlets need a snorkel, not just the combustion air. Here is short list of components that can not get wet: electronics, all fluid vents, all wiring, transmission vents, and any other vents. A snorkel gives you a false sense that its safe to submerge your entire vehicle.
tell me about it I build severe condition offroad vehicles for military and government use. ppl adding a engine intake znorkle to there jeep or whatever is such a fucking joke and waste of money. short list of components always overlooked by these type of yuppy offroaders when it comes to severe use builds. alternator water damage, spark ignition water damage, battery damage unless it's a truly sealed battery like Optima, electric engine cooling fan, radiator damage if not running a mechanical fan tnat can be fully disengaged, power steering system contamination, obviously trans and diff vents, brake system contamination, fuel tank evap system contamination is extremely problematic since almost all OEM vehicles have them low mounted or in a fender. the list goes on. a factory jL is good for 30 inch of depth. your snorkel can be 10 foot tall, your still only able to do 30 " or damage WILL OCCUR
Neither of those crossings required a snorkel. Geez. Plus, if you get submersed too deep and water hits your engine computer, your engine will die. A snorkel isn't going to stop that from shorting out. Snorkels are pretty useless.
Most FWD commuter cars would have made that run...., water depth was a little more than half a wheel height....C'mon, no 'snorkel' needed for that, especially on a Jeep.
Can you say idiot move, talk about a terrible example of deep water driving. The only great demo was what not to do. It is a shame you have so much free stuff you can just rip up your Jeep w/o caring that you ripped off your flares, I would hate to see what happened under the hood (which didn't look secured). Mental note: never let Ryan drive your vehicle!
8:10 Lol the hood wasn't latched down! Smh
If only that prefilter wasn't so hideous I might think about it. It looks almost like an old street lamp is mounted to the Jeep
lol tru tho, they could just make the whole think opaque.

Will snorkels help keep water out if you go through the car wash?
The last run your hood was unlocked, is that automatic? Very interesting…
"Deep" water 😂😂
If you decide you in fact need a snorkel the rugged ridge one is awesome and quite clean.
Always funny to see super clean wranglers and 4runners with a pristine snorkel kit and a never used hi-lift mounted to the back.
why?
How exactly does a "used" snorkel look different then a pristine one?

Snorkels is ok to protect the engine, what about electronic, fuse box and battery????
So aftermarket snorkel or aftermarket cold air intake? Which is best option for hp? Let me know
You guys should make one that adapts to the RIPP Supercharger that is maid for the Jeep Wrangler.

I could've done that first crossing with my bone-stock TJ. Not impressed.
Still gonna put it on there cause it looks cool just like everyone else
Stephen Langley haha nothing wrong with that!
@Kaptain Kid I dont do that whole mall crawl bs man mud and hills are where I live although it's a big thing where I live
Obviously the snorkel demonstrated is KING!
LOVE IT
There goes my pillar mounted cube.

how deep water could you cross safely with the highest snorkel, and how long seals don't leak?

what about the exhaust? couldn't water get in the engine too?
Are all of these plastic, or do any use carbon fiber?
Does it fix a right driver seat jeep jku ?
Love the snorkel but why does it look like a street lamp?
Pit junior is sweet
Unless you move all breathers and seal electronics along with air box no real point
Never go fast going into deep water
@extremeterrain when you going to post the snorkel video of my Jeep that you did?
If I have a Elite fast track windshield bar mounted already on my jeep, could this modular rugged ridge snorkel system with prefilter fits ?

Anyone know what fender flares are on this Jeep?
Those are the RedRock Flat Fenders! Find them here --> www.extremeterrain.com/redrock4x4-flat-flare-kit-jk-j103867.html

universe mouse plus it sucks in clean and cold air from outside not dirty and hot air from under the hood
