I had a 2 hours sleep in the afternoon today. Struggle with low iron for a long time. No idea the cause of mine Its not quiet anemic but keep swinging between the bottom range of normal and the top range of low. When I get the fatigue like that on work days I end up with a migraine from trying to stay awake at work. Hope that you recovered quickly and that you got back to your strength training.
It's so hard to battle through isnt it! I always know when my iron is low because my body forces me to take a power nap. It was a nightmare when I worked in an office and would be literally fighting to force my eyes to stay open, or would have a power nap on my breaks. I was always told by the doctor eat plenty of sources of Vitamin C before then having Iron foods as the vit C helps with Iron absorption. That seemed to work well but sometimes my Iron levels would still drop low. Luckily I never reached the point of migranes. That must be so hard to deal with. Glad to know I'm not the only one that struggles with it though. Hope you're keeping well ✨️
@ I also have issues with vitamin D. For better absorption of that I need calcium but that interferes with iron absorption so thats a battle sometimes balancing the two, both which cause fatigue, My vitamin D is thankfully on the way up and not dipped again. I am really sensitive to the sun and was avoiding it not to get burnt and ended up avoiding being in the sun too much.
@FeeBee3001 sounds like a very difficult battle indeed. My doctor told me about how calcium blocks iron too and recommended to me to have orange juice and broccoli or some other iron with breakfast, and calcium/milk etc from dinner time onwards to give the iron a chance to absorb. I've been having Huel or broccoli, salmon and rice for breakfast for months now and has seemed to have helped keep my energy levels up. With my job being outdoors I'm often in the sun so no shortage of Vit D for me. Can't imagine how challenging that must be to be sensitive to the sun.
